This place was fabulous! How nice to enjoy a warm summer night on the patio listening to the 2 piece band while enjoying a GREAT dinner!!The service was friendly and very accommodating. Â All 3 of us liked our meals....burger, poke tuna, calamari, Caesar salad.....we will be back! Thanks!
Review Source:Booo. In a word - Terrible. I took my two brothers and my son for breakfast on Father's Day and we were seated in the courtyard. The menu had approximately 8 items for a selection. We waited 15 minutes for our coffee & mimosas then anoth hour, yes that's right 1 hour for our meal. There were maybe 3 servers for both inside and out and we were waited on by a busser. We were told that they did catering also and they had such a big job that the kitchen was behind. I gave our server a 20% tip because I'm nice but I won't ever eat there again and neither should you.
Review Source:For Lunch:
This place is full of old people food for their old people clients. Everything was bland and kinda mushy. I asked for a vinaigrette dressing for my salad and they brought me a cup of balsamic vinegar.
Also, if your squash soup is actually pumpkin soup- you should probably just call it pumpkin soup. It tasted like over seasoned pumpkin pie.
Minimal server attention even though there were only 3 tables full inside and 2 outside.
Pathetic.
New ownership has saved a landmark here in Danville. Â The food was delicious and I could not believe how reasonable the price was for the quality and quantity. Â
We host Successful Thinkers business mixer every Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM. Â For a $12.00 price that includes coffee, tax and tip you can enjoy a great meal and a lot of fun with some great people. Â Come join us!
The owners even offered a FREE DINNER for anyone who joins Successful Thinkers. Â And in addition each week they offer a FREE DINNER in a raffle. Â Oh, dinner comes with entertainment in the patio...my wife and I love this place. Â
The staff was always right there to serve you with a smile, exceptionally good service. Â I personally love the wine bar and now a few of my friends meet there just to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Â
Thank you for bringing back years of memories in a great location. Â I am telling everyone I can about how wonderful this place is. Â

Went back for dinner - super slow service, server was not professional at all, the food menu is just Ok - I wish they would have kept some of the lunch items on the dinner menu. Waited almost 15 minutes before someone stopped by our table, then about 20 minutes to get wine - food was bland and lacked flavor - no mas!
Review Source:Breakfast was bland, greasy soft hash browns (similar to McDonald's), stale bread, delicious bacon, overcooked scrambled eggs, watery poached eggs; meh, I'd go somewhere else for breakfast. Â I should have known there was something amiss when we were one of three tables filled inside the restaurant at 9am on a Saturday morning.
Review Source:Was looking at a place to rent for a shower for my cousin, and we figured this would be a good place for a gathering of maybe 20 people. I ran into a couple issues with this place in trying to rent:
-- The manager of this establishment was very short and contrite with me, didn't seem like she wanted to give me the time of day. I asked if I could take pictures of the room and she said she didn't understand why I had to.
-- They wanted to charge us way more per person than it would cost for a person to dine here without the event. Not everyone was going to drink wine and/or order the most expensive entree. They also would force us into buying a dessert, instead of bringing our own, which was the plan.
-- Quite frankly the little place they have in the back for events looks a bit outdated and confusing in its decor. They tried to go quaint with a modern flair, but it still has the old carpet and chairs that look like they were kept from the 80s.
The room had a nice TV and could hold 20 people in it just fine, which met my requirements, but everything else just fell short.
Not very pleased with this, as there are other venues in the area that are much cheaper and have a higher quality of service. Not sure how the food is, but I don't think I'd ever give this place my business after this recent experience.
This place used to be called "Father Natures Shed". I went there today with my son for a light Saturday lunch. At 12:15PM there were a total of 12 people in the place. When we left at 1PM there were 5. This is not a "lunch crowd" The wait staff which spoke English as a 3rd language was hard to understand. The service in general was poor. The food in general was below average. Parking is not availble. I parked in a red Zone across the street. The place is nothing what it used to be and I can report I will never go there again. Maybe dinner time and wine time are better but ther are 12 good places within a block of this place that would lead me in that direction. Tried a new place and got what I thought. Live and learn. If they gave me free food for the rest of my life I would not return.
Review Source:Father Nature's has been a favorite restaurant of ours for years and we had not been since it merged with the wine place. Â We were seated inside and the only table occupied other than the bar where every seat was occupied. Â After sitting down and hearing all the raucous sounds with just the minimum people at the bar, we decided to leave. Â We had been unaware that it had become a completely different type of business. Â The hostess acted surprised that we were leaving and we just said we did not realize it was now a bar. Â As we walked into the courtyard area she very loudly said "they thought this was a bar", laughing loudly. Â We both thought that was extremely rude and won't be back because of her smarta$$ comment. Â Plenty of other places to take our business!
Review Source:Father Nature's Hideaway was a random choice to eat due to an available parking space right in front. chose breakfast over since lunch seem pricey and ordinary.
patio dining was preferential to in house dining.
eats: father's special omlette (8.95)
-muffin came prebuttered, no jam provided
-hash browns crispy, all 200 strands of it. (seem like that many)
-omlette had red and green peppers, onions, cheese, tomatos, mushrooms, spinach, and sausage" Â just tasted average.
-not totally fulfilling.
leftovers:
-service ok, hardly saw the same server twice.
-nice ambience/atmosphere, so so food.
-food not a value. maybe for danville it is.
This week I met a friend here for lunch. Our waiter was kind and the courtyard was pleasant as always. However, my chicken salad sandwich that the waiter recommended was awful: the sandwich was bland, the bread was too thick and the mayonnaise (or something) had a weird aftertaste. Even the chips were stale.
Review Source:Tami has this place down. I frequent lots of restaurants in Danville and this is my favorite restaurant for dinner. Thursday night I had dinner there with a friend out on the patio and the weather was great. The relaxing part of the night is Tami, Kelli and Charley smiling. Each of these three ladies serve and mingle with smiles, laughter and promote relaxation. My buddy and I both had a few COLD beers (ask for the cold glasses....they are frosted) and then we had the entree....pork chops and garlic mashed potatoes. The pork chops that Delfino and Caesar (chefs) prepare are hands down the best anywhere. As to tenderness, the flavor and size (mine are always 1-1/2" thick).....nothing is better. Tami works her tail off and has improved the patio seating area to its best shape in the 20 years I have eaten here through the various and previous owners. You have to try this place and the bonus is the entertainment and comedy nights. Some other reviewers are full blown whiners who run the place down and would whine if they won the lottery so toss their remarks out and go try the place. The setting is cute be it inside or out. Tami has a major passion for satisfaction and simply asking her or the rest of her staff will get you positive responses. I love the place!
Review Source:This very cozy restaurant has some great homemade breakfast. You won't find anything extremely fancy, just a great meal like you would cook at home. the food is not frozen, nor comes from a box. The wheat bread is delicious and fresh baked. The wait staff is extremely friendly and fast paced. This is my favorite place for breakfast. I have dined here many times and have never been disappointed nor have I ever received bad service.
Review Source:Never have I EVER been so disgusted with any form of customer service. Â And I will reiterate: NEVER. Â Yelp needs to provide an option for no stars, as this would much more accurately describe our experience. Â First of all, somehow our reservation for five disappeared after it had been confirmed and the hostess took no ownership of the situation, attempting to blame us for her mistake. Â We were seated at the bar, and moving forward experienced nothing but belittlement and disrespect from a waitress who obviously thought she was better than us. Â Her and her coworker also did not seem to realize that when you bad mouth your customers while standing 2 feet away from them at the bar, they can, in fact, hear you. Â Additionally, when we disputed our bill because the coupon we brought was not honored (she told us we could not use our coupon on Happy Hour items when: 1) There was NOTHING on the coupon stating otherwise and 2) We told her we were planning on using the coupon BEFORE we proceeded to order off the Happy Hour menu), she tried to guilt us because we didn't buy dinner, only drinks. Â Something that could have easily been avoided if they would have actually gotten reservation right and we didn't have to sit at the bar. Â And what I HAD thought was the worst part of all: the manager literally sat there, listening to the entire ordeal, drinking a beer, and did not step in at any time to defend his paying customers. Â We were appalled at the service and walked out declaring we would never return. Â BUT it only got worse. Â Needless to say, we did not leave a very large tip. Â Well, turns out that the waitress added money to our bill after we left, apparently thinking she deserved a much larger tip for all the energy she exerted to be inhumanly rude. Â Luckily, Father Nature's staff has been caught red-handed and hopefully all will learn from our absolute terrible experience.
Review Source:Had a nice breakfast here. The food is above average. Service was good. I really liked the salsa that came with the omelet. Their lattes are actually gross I'm sorry to say. They don't have vanilla which seems like a basic to me and something was off....a spice or flavor that completely didn't belong. The atmosphere is really what sells this place. I'd come back for breakfast anytime but I would make a stop at Starbucks first.
Review Source:After visiting Father Nature's Hideaway I can honestly that it is most certainly that, hidden away. Â I did not know they moved from their previous location until a day or two before my breakfast meeting with friends.
Service is very friendly but can be slow. Â The food is what one might expect but is simple and plain -- no frills. Â And the prices, considering what other restaurants are in the area, are very reasonable.
Prospect Avenue has plenty of shops and can be quite busy on a Saturday morning. Â So parking can be a challenge, but not impossible. Everything is within walking distance of everything else.
If I am ever in the area I would definitely return.
Came here with my family a few days after Christmas. Â They sat us in the backroom, which was nice because it was private and our toddler could wander around freely. Â My husband ordered French Toast and it was good. Â It was on thick Texas Toast and was perfectly cooked and not overly oily like some places. Â My sister-in-law ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was drowning in hollandaise sauce. Â This made it a little hard to eat since there was so much sauce. Â Service was really slow! Â I think they might have forgot they had people sitting back there. Â I had to go outside and to the front of the restaurant to request our check since they didn't give us any service after they gave us our food.
Review Source:How does this place only have 3 stars? I had a fabulous time with my husband on a rainy evening. We sat at the bar and made friends with the super friendly Kelly. Although we weren't planning on eating there, we ended up ordering a few apps. Bruschetta was tasty, spinach salad as well. I was afraid it would be over dressed, but it wasn't. Met some great local folks at the bar and even got to hear some live music. Nothing like Elvis doing Christmas songs the week before Christmas! Can't wait to visit this spot again.

Father Nature's is few of Danville's 'special' restaurants. Breakfast & Lunch are both good. They have a nice outdoor patio seating. Perfect for family breakfasts & lunch dates. Service is SLOW & regular- not really that friendly. But since this place has good food...it doesn't really bother me. My favorite item on the menu is a BLTA (without the tomato in a BLTTA). I will be back, just please improve on the service!
I don't understand all the bad reviews- I went here today and had a great experience with the service, environment/atmosphere and the food was really good! The vegetarian benedict was really yummy. Â Everyone at my table was happy. Give it a shot- come for brunch and then go for a nice walk around downtown Danville.
Review Source:I too am so Sad for Father Natures. I grew up in Danville and this was always a family favorite. My lunch was very sub-par. A simple tuna melt. The bread was either old or microwaved as it was very hard, not cracker like but like it had been microwaved. The tuna had BELL PEPPERS in it. Yuck! I know this is a personal thing but bell peppers are a very strong flavor when raw! Â The salad was, well salad, but not very fresh. It had a refrigerator like taste. It had been in the refrigerator too long,
The server was super nice and doing the best she could by herself. She had too many tables to give perfect service but it was alright.
I hope they can pick things up with the recent restaurant merge.
