I used to love to go to Fernando's in San Mateo, and I was happy to find one in Pleasanton.
The atmosphere was fun, the regulars were laughing it up outside :)
The inside of the restaurant was very authentic, really reminded me of my trips to Mexico.
The service was great, and our food and drinks came right away. Â
The plates were really hot, but the food was only lukewarm. It was just ok, not as good as I had remembered. I had the small chile relleno combo, and my husband had a shredded beef burrito. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't " This is SO good "
Usually when we get Mexican food, we both leave Muy Feliz!
Husband doesn't want to go back, he said it was just mediocre.
I think it would be a good place to go and have a few drinks on the back patio, which really was hoppin! I'll give it another shot. I do love Fernando's mexican coleslaw and tortilla chips. The pineapple margarita was refreshing, but I'll need some premium tequila next time.
It's not a thumbs down.....it's an....I'll try again
