Firefly

So this is a tough one. Last week the food was awesome. In fact I loved the food so much I came back a week later only to hear they have a new chef and menu. In defense of the new chef the food ordered was good, but the choices were limited. I guess they will expand the menu in time, but a chef should arrive ready to hit the ground running. So instead of five stars I am going with three.

I went for dinner with my best friend. It was just us two. We had to wait for a table. So we went to the bar. Ordered a drink. I can't remember what I ordered but it was good. This place was super crowded. We finally get a table. The seating area is very beautiful. Really nice. Great for a date. We ordered off the Late Night Menu. Had the firefly burger. It was good. The waiter kind of forgot about us. So I that upset me a little. I probably won't come back.

This has become pretty much my go to spot in the valley. When you just don't have the energy to combat the 405 or make your way over one of the canyons, this place doesn't disappoint. It consists of three main areas: a bar area leading up to the hostess, a lounge made to look like a library, and an inside/outside eating area with greenery, fireplaces etc. The decor isn't over the top, and they keep it dark.The staff is attentive and easy going.

My favorites on the menu are the Butcher's Block Tartar (raw steak), Cast Iron Muscles, and the Rib eye.
