I like the atmosphere of the building of Fizz Ed's. Very big, open and I hear they have some good musical acts. Whenever I have been there the place was completely dead so it seems they haven't been so busy. This doesn't bother me because I like a good quiet bar where I can relax and not be hassled by other bar goers. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable about their interesting rotating draft selection. I will definitely come back here. They are renovating their kitchen so I'm sure there will be some great stuff on the menu here soon.

First time going there this past Saturday and this place has some shady characters. Always worried about your surroundigs and  if someone will try and pull a fast one on you. On our way out, we temporarily got locked in until the cops came because of a fight that was just outside. Probably not going back there again but the fusion of the Saxophonist, drummer and the DJ were good; to each their own, definetely not my kind of take.

ive been going to this bar forever. even when it was the shitz..its clean. good for an afternoon beer and some pool. but come night time. omg!. the patrons need to look at themselves before they leave the house.20 degress outside and a lot of mini skirts and fishnets.only problem they all look like dancing the 1 friday night is the only workout they get. and the d.j and drummer playing together is brutal.ive never heard anything like that before.its actually kinda amusing to watch.funnier watching the women dancing to it.LOUD i think LOUD is the word im looking for, bartenders r cool and waitstaff is nice.doorman is cool as shit too.just have to change your entertainment.

The place may look nice but they need a new bartender.. the drinks were terrible and everyone at my table commented that they charge too much for watered down cocktails made with the cheapest ingredients.

Fizz Ed'z sucks.  It doesn't look anymore like a dive bar but what you order at the bar is going to make you ill.

We went there on a Friday evening and we were about the 7th and 8th people there. I ordered the Mai Tai - it was okay but tasted like the juices were generic. The lighting was very dark and we had to use our flashlight apps on our phones to see the menu. ordered a chicken Caesar wrap and fizz Ed'z burger w/ onion rings (+$1)

Considering how very few patrons in the restaurant we thought our food would have come out a lot faster. It took about 9 songs (very painful genre of music - Puddle of Mudd, Nickleback, Daughtry, etc) Weird set up for food to make it to the table - the cook came out and gave it to the waitress and then she walked it over to us.

The burger was okay but a little dry - it wasn't cooked to order and the bun was super lame it was like a Stop & Shop hamburger bun. The worst part were the onion rings - they were literally like Burger King onion rings - sooooo gross They were not Guinness infused battered onion rings by any means - I actually think they ran down to Stop and Shop and bought the onion rings and the fries. The fries were crinkle cut OreIda style and the lettuce on the wrap was super warm (not a tasty way to eat lettuce)

Be sure to have a flashlight app installed on your phone before you go.

Waitress was friendly and provided good service. She got the 2 stars. Oh...and the coleslaw was good.

As a former regular at the Fitz (Don't worry, fellow reviewers, I won't stab you or start a fight with you or pick pocket you like some of you imply I would.) I was wary of whether Fizz Ed'z would be a place I wanted to hang out in.  I was pleasantly surprised!  The bar looks amazing, they did a wonderful job with the renovations.  It felt a little strange at first seeing my favorite dive bar spruced up like this!  On the night we went there was great band playing and the crowd was laid back and chill.  The drinks were tasty and they had these fun "slush-tinis" where you could get your favorite alcohol served in a slush.  They were great for the start of summer.  We did not try the food, but it smelled amazing and I will be planning dinner there some night soon to give it try.  The one big shock for me was that they chose not to renovate the ladies room!  It is tiny and probably would have been the first change I made to the place.  Good news is that there is a handicapped bathroom on the other side of the place (where the pool table is) so ladies can use that one if they don't want to squeeze into the other.  Bottom line, I will definitely head back to Fizz Ed'z for drinks and dinner.  And I will probably bring some other former regulars to join me.  :)

I've been here when it was "the other place," and it's nowhere near the same establishment it once was. They did a great job of renovating it, cleaning it up, and creating a whole new vibe. Plenty of flat screens, good beer selection, simple but to the point burger/pub fare menu, and very decent prices. And now it's just simply a nice bar inside. With live music on the weekends, it's now a very viable option for going out in Malden!

I don't mean to insult anyone's lifestyle but no sane decent human being walked by Honey Fitz without feeling at minimum creeped out, and terrified of some of the questionables around.  Luckily Honey Fitz closed its doors and I was delighted at the sound of Fizz Ed'z when I heard the rumors.

I grew up in Brooklyn, lived in Boston and moved to Malden.  Needless to say the nightlife in Malden has been relatively unexciting; however, places like Fizz Ed'z are making me stay local on nights instead of driving across the river.

My boyfriend and I finally had a chance to to check out Fizz Ed's on a Friday.  A funky/soul band was playing.  They were great!  Drinks were reasonably price with around 3.50/4 for draft. The crowd was everything I like about Malden compared to Boston, a mix of rich & poor; young & old.  Everyone seemed to be having a great time, dancing to the beat!

There are also some great TVs in there to grab a drink and watch the game.  Last night the Celtics were playing.  There are a few smaller TVs by the bar area and a huge one across from the bar.  I'm usually not a sports bar type of person but Fizz Ed'z had enough going on for anyone to have fun.

The inside seems completely cleaned out and remodeled from the old dirty place this building used to be.  I do have one complaint.  The women's restroom was clean and seemed renovated but I don't understand why the doors don't have a hook or some kinda locking device for the door in the stalls.  I might not be the most alert person after a few drinks and I really don't want to accidently barge in on someone doing their business!

Overall a great place and a great reason to head out to Malden Square.

I started a Yelp page for Fizz Ed'z last night after we ate there. Since then and before my review was posted, it looks like Fizz Ed'z has started their official Yelp page (I did ask the manager why no one had said anything on here yet, I'm only claiming partial credit for getting him moving), so I am copying and pasting my review here:

This place used to be Honey Fitz and I was scared to go in there. They have completely renovated the inside and it looks beautiful! The Red Sox game was on the high def TVs at the bar when we got there. They have some awesome TVs, for my money, best place in Malden to watch a game. I think they want to be (and I think this because the manager told me) the place you go after dinner at Exchange Street or All Seasons. However, we were hungry on this Sunday afternoon, and we decided to eat here in addition to having a couple of draft beers. The menu is small, which was fine because it seems like they know what they are good at. We started with the boneless wings, it had an Asian name, but I'm going to offend someone if I try to guess what it was called. They were very tasty, didn't need any sauce. I had the Mexican style burger which had a spicy aioli and guacamole with onion straws. Fabulous. My girlfriend had the Breakfast burger which had bacon, fried egg,and spicy ketchup...unreal.  There was a guy playing accoustic guitar while we ate, and he was great (everything from James Taylor to Green Day). I guess they are having DJs and live bands Fridays and Saturdays which sounds cool. Last night they had a live band everyone was raving about. We heard the bartender talking about a beer pong tournament there next Sunday, which would sound terrifying if it was still Honey Fitz's but was intriguing because I still think I'm kinda good and I don't think I'll get stabbed if I go there.
I say this is the new cool bar in downtown Malden.
I would definitely go here to watch a game, check out a band, have a beer, or if someone dragged to me listen to a DJ. Try the Fizz Ed brew--not heavy at all and pretty tasty.
