A handful of good beers. Space to accommodate an after work social hour for larger groups. $5 select appetizers after 5 pm and $4 Stella drafts. That adds up to a decent deal when on a budget.
If you want a table after the closing bell tolls call to make reservations ahead of time. They have a separate line at 312-922-8025. This is a good option for those concerned about proximity to their office in the loop. The service gets bogged down as the night progresses and the place fills up. Its bound to happen when the waitresses are doing their job. Clean bathrooms are always a plus.
I wouldn't necessarily stop in for lunch, unless sitting outside was an option, so for now I would stick to drinks after work. Drafts range from $5 to $7 and they actually have a Pale Ale other than Green Line. The appetizers were well received. Everyone needs a little something to soak up the booze to avoid any career limiting moves.
At the end of the day I was pretty impressed with the overall experience. The noise level was moderate, music was not bumping, and you could converse with the person next to you. There are padded futon like cushions on the ceiling seem to absorb the buzzing crowd.
I don't think I would go out of my way to stop in but rather for a planned event. There aren't unlimited options in the business district so choose wisely. Franklin Tap was surprisingly affordable and made for pleasant hours of happiness. Oh, and my Manhattan was not watered down, smooth sailing.
I was introduced to this place by a friend's dad a few years ago. Â It was his go to place for after work beers and has since become one of mine. Â The food is nothing to write home about, actually more on the bad and bland side if anything. Â They have a decent but not incredible beer selection, but the location and friendly service pick it up. Â All in all, a good place to go with a friend if you're looking for average priced beers and nothing else.
