This place is phenomenal; I go every time I'm in town. Fresh meats, great sandwiches, and great prices. You can get an 8" for $6 - though the grinder is so packed I'm convinced the 8" will fill you much more than a Subway 12" for example. A 1/2 Vienna could feed a small family for under $8. Not much room to dine in, but if you're with 1-2 other people you could do it. High quality, every time, at a great price.
Review Source:Ever since moving to the area a few years ago, I have been searching for a good place to get Italian subs. Â This is definitely the place. Â They have a huge selection of grinders on their menu and they add specials all of the time. Â My recent favorite is the Springfield College Chief which is chicken, honey mustard and bacon (I opt to leave off the BBQ sauce). Â Their meats are fresh and you know they are preparing the food fresh every day. Â They also have a great selection of pasta and potato salads as well as prepared meals. Â The only thing is that this selection varies by the day so if you're looking to go there for a specific item, they may not have it. Â But their selection is so wide that you definitely can find something else good to eat. I usually go in there for a sandwich and end up getting a few sides and options for dinner! Â This is a great place for take out as the seating is limited and during the lunch rush, it can be very tight in there.
Review Source:This review is for takeout only, I've never eaten in. Â This is our go-to place for dinner when we don't want to cook at home. Â There is always something tasty behind the deli window that makes for a great meal. Â We usually get a cannoli or two for dessert -- at least once, the cannoli tray was empty but the cashier ran in the back and filled one on the spot! Â Delicious!
Review Source:I am always surprised by this place. Â I am the biggest fan of the Frigos in Springfield, and I was so excited when I heard they were opening in East Longmeadow (much closer), but I just find the quality here inferior to the Springfield spot. Â I keep trying to come back, but I always find myself driving the extra 15 minutes down to Springfield. Â I still enjoy Frigos very much, but I really have to recommend going to the original Springfield location.
Review Source:Normally I do not like giving bad reviews, but Frigo's customer service is horrendous!! Â There has not been a time when I have called in an order for pick up and they had it right. Â Once when i called in to inform them that they messed up on my order, the lady hung up on me!! Today (3/8/12) I decided to give it another go and again they messed up and on top of it gave me an attitude, i mean, really?!?! That has been an ongoing problem with their counter/phone people especially this older lady, she is ridiculous. Â I would save my money and the fustration that comes out when dealing with the people at Frigo's and go else where. Â There are a ton of places better than Frigo's.... i have just tried to time and time again but it's just the same thing. Â No more for me!
Review Source:Review is mostly for the grinders which are great. Â Their sandwich menu is extensive. Â My favorite is the Classic Italian. Â Pricing is great for the 8" ($4.75). Â Their 8" subs are priced between $4.50-7.00 but are actually closer to 12" in size. Â All sandwiches are big and packed with quality meats and fresh ingredients. They have a few tables inside and a good variety of drinks so it's a nice spot to eat in. Â Carries lots of big dishes that span the dinner spectrum so you can pick and choose for dinner if you'd like. Â No experience with that pricing however. Â Service is pretty friendly.
Review Source:I frequent Frigo's maybe five times a year with usually a good review each time. Nice selection of prepared foods along with some awesome grinder choices. The chicken parm grinder is my favorite with an extremely generous portion of chicken. The store is very clean and sometimes very crowded and stressful. Confusion arises when ordering as they have no ordered structure. Employees behind the service counter are not always the friendliest, but the cashier usually makes up for it. I love their grinders and am sure to go back.
Review Source:A friend of mine who grew up in Springfield told me about this place last week and I ended up going two days in a row it was so good. Â Prepare yourself for a huge selection of sandwiches, salads, and pastas. Â The first day I ordered 1/2 ($6.95) of The Tanglewood sandwich which was cracked pepper mill turkey & dill havarti with lettuce, tomatoes & Russian dressing on homemade bread. Â It was by far the largest sandwich I've ever seen and could have fed 4 people. Â I also ordered a side of the red potato salad. Â Both were flavorful and excellent. Â The second day I ordered the Italian Panino (prosciutto, capicola, asiago cheese, roasted red peppers and I added fresh mozzarella) on a water roll ($5.25). Â Again, I wasn't disappointed. Â In addition to the wonderful food, the atmosphere in Frigo's is warm and the employees are friendly. Â There are a few small tables if you want to eat there, but it seems like most people take their food to go. Â I can't wait to introduce more friends to this great find!
Review Source:A mini gourmet store with a large deli counter known for its sandwiches, but also filled with pre-made mostly-italian dishes. Â The selection changes all the time, with some permanent fixtures like the seafood pasta salad. Â I often will get the eggplant and chicken parm-like dishes, usually with an interesting twist like asparagus, fresh mozzarella, ricotta... The employees are friendly. Â Price varies widely, but you can easily get a delicious, large meal for under $10.
