Since there isn't a TGIF at C-38, but there is one at C-8, I'm assuming that it's a typo in the listing. Either way, this is a review for the one at C-8.
The service was way better than the service at the TGIFs in the other terminals (the 1-star is for the service!), but the food was just bad. The beer cheese sauce for the warm pretzels was actually good and tasty, but the pretzels themselves were so greasy I didn't even want to touch them. The pic on the menu makes it look like the pretzel sticks are baked, but they had obviously been fried. The house salad was okay, but for some reason took longer than the ribs the guy next to me ordered (at the same time). And oh the French onion soup, what an atrocity. There were a lot of things wrong with it, but mostly, did someone decide to dump a container of salt in the pot? I had to down water just to eat a few spoonfuls of it. I rarely like to waste food, but this meal was literally making me sick so I ended up paying and leaving about half of my food there. Bleh.
Last complaint: this TGIF menu has nearly no options for those who don't eat beef, pork or chicken.
Flew through DFW the day before yesterday. We had 45 minutes until boarding and were starving so we stopped at TGI Friday's and asked if we had time to eat. "Of course, most of the entrees come out within 15 minutes!" Â So, we decided to sit down. Â Our server came out to take our drink order and we gave him our food order as well to save time, me: standard cheeseburger/fries, my wife: veggie burger sweet potatoe fries. We never saw the server again! When we reached boarding time we flagged down another waiter and he sent "our" waiter out, who coincidentally arrived with our food. It was shriveled and cold. I was furious, but I kept my peace. I regret paying for it, but I did and we took it with us. It was a bad experience all the way around and I would not do it again. Should have went with the gut feeling and skipped it. Â At least at McDonalds we could have gotten a hot burger within 5 minutes and enjoyed our food without having to wait another 30 minutes beyond boarding until we reached altitude to eat.
Review Source:Stopped in to waste sometime prior to my flight. It was 8:15 am and was surprised to see they served breakfast, so I ordered the "Egg Breakfast". Â The menu said scrambled eggs, house potatoes, seasonal fruit, toast and choice of bacon or sausage. I pick bacon and was disappointed on the portion sizes. One scrambled egg (singular) about a 1/4 cup of potatoes, a slice of bacon and the best part, the seasonal fruit was a single small strawberry. Save yourself $10.99 and eat breakfast elsewhere.
Review Source:Being a person who doesn't frequent chain restaurants we had some time to kill before a flight.
The people are not super friendly here. A simple salad and soup took 20 minutes to come to the table.
Just a place that doesn't hit it out of the park for me..
Still, I won't be a chain person.
this review is for terminal c, gate 8: incredible experience!!! three things happened that make me give a restaurant of this class 5 stars: 1st, the gentleman that welcomed us into the restaurant. His name is Geovany. This young gentleman is on his way to bigger and better things. He was attentive to our needs, sitted us in no time at all and then introduced us to our server, Chrissy (reason number 2): She was more than wonderful, really took time to serve us right and made us feel really important to her and brought us exactly what we had asked for while being courteous and professional and lastly number three is Grace the manager. She went above and beyond any other person in her position has gone for me. My companion left his credit card at the table inadevertently, we were already boarding our airplane and she came running to him with the card!!!, all in all an incredible experience TGIF you deserve 5 stars today!!!
Review Source:Hell is the DFW airport. So if you visit hell, be sure to have some crappy beer, annoyingly loud and invasive "Hon" service, and a homicide inducing medley of Sheryl Crow, Natasha Bedingfield, and Nellie Furtado at the Terminal C TGI McFunsters. The TSA is a failure, as I have been thoroughly terrorized. Oh, and you could eat there, but it's why Texas has at least three of the top ten fattest cities in the US.
Review Source:Had the pecan crusted chicken salad and an ice tea.
Food was served fairly promptly. Nice of the server to ask when my flight boarded and work accordingly.
However, lettuce was dry and brown in places. Not that I'm expecting fresh, but it was a little past it's prime...unservable in the restaurants I prefer frequenting.
Service took a strangely long time to bring me my completed bill. Such as "looking at watch" length of time.
Not a lot of healthy choices for airport food. This was okay. Good is better at Au Bon Pain, but not a lot of seating options at the end of C terminal
Out of all the food choices I had at the airport, TGI Friday's was the most appealing. Plus, I had plenty of time before my flight, so I was in no rush to eat.
Food was average, basically the same as you would expect at any TGI Friday's. The menu was no different. I had the 8 oz. steak topped with butter with mashed potatoes and veggies on the side. The steak wasn't too bad and cooked exactly to my liking. That doesn't happen too often! Didn't like the mashed potatoes, which were covered with melted cheese that hardened. Veggies were a little soggy and plain. It was nothing compared to the steak dinner I had that night in Vegas! But I know that's not a fair comparison ...
Service was outstanding. The host was very nice, and I was promptly seated. My waitress was fast and efficient. Everything from the food to the check came out quickly. She constantly checked on me but never made me feel rushed. The best thing is, they cater to a lot of travelers, so they don't make you feel like a freak if you're eating by yourself!
Great Service...entertaining...Jamie at the bar was wonderful....felt like I was right at home. Â Usually don't travel alone but felt completely comfortable here. Â WIFI works at the bar. Â Cobb salad was wonderful but to me it's all about feeling comfortable...and this staff will definitely make you feel comfortable ..even if you travel by yourself.
Review Source:Top-notch service!! Food meh.
I have never been a big fan of Friday's food and that has not changed due to this visit. It wasn't bad. It was prepared extremely well, according to the TGI menu. For my taste, their menu is too greasy, fatty, saucy, etc. Personal preference. They did a nice job with what they had to work with.
Our server, Darren, was great! His first question was about time constraints and flight times. We told him how much time we had and he assured us that we would be out of there in plenty of time to catch our connecting flight home. He was true to his word. Darren was also right there with drink refills, extra napkins, condiments, etc. He was extremely helpful, professional, courteous and friendly. Nice Job!!
everything is "smoothered" here. the only fish option is fried. how can people survive on this stuff?!
we need more healthy options in airports and since this is one of the few restaurants, it would be nice to see a salad not smothered in something creamy. Â
really nice staff though!
also, it's across from gate 30, not 38.
A whole bevy of servers stand by at the front door to pounce you and seat you in their section, which is nice since most airport diners are in a hurry. Â However, once seated, I didn't think my food was served with the lightning speed of some of the other airport Friday's I've been to (yes, there have been several).
Hot damn those new little Jack Daniel's bbq sliders are yummy and I love the sweet potato fry option. Â Go on with your bad self airport Friday's.
