CLOSED. Â I received a Groupon for food and drinks to this place as a gift. Â This place is either CLOSED or they do not like business. Â Tried calling several times, no one ever answers the phone, doesn't matter what day of the week/weekend or what hour. Â No one ever picks up the phone.
Tried to randomly go there on a Friday night since it's not too far from where I live. Â The doors were locked, the lights were out and there was a big dumpster in front.
Fortunately my friend was able to get her many back for the Groupon she bought me. Â What a waste of time and money!!
I have been here a few times & for the most part its not a bad place.
The place as a restaurant works better because of the size. As a club it can get say too crowded & that's such a pain since the place is so small.
Decent food , good empanadas, tostones & Â Shrimp.
The Baked chicken is pretty good & so is the Churrasco encebollado (w onions)
They have good Red Sangria , but I like the White Sangria better.
Cocktails are nothing special & w occasions we tend to get bottles the prices r decent in comparison.
U can certainly have fun here decent atmosphere & the Music is not bad although they should play more of a variety they tend to get a bit stuck on just the Spanish music , which is fine since it is a Spanish place but still variety is the spicy of life. Â
I've enjoyed good dinner's here & party events & so far no complaints , service is nice , pretty decor & prices are reasonable.
Same goes for the club , it b nice if the place didn't get so jammed packed but oh well certainly not that big of a deal since it is a small place.
I've always enjoyed myself here for dinner & the club , chances are I'll keep stopping by.
When to Gabbana for the first time with a group of 7 to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Â Nice ambiance, good Dominican food, but the service......is just terribly slow. Â Also the prices are a bit high for the area. Â However, it is a truly fun Dominican spot: very loud, strong drinks, Â and party atmosphere. Â Would I go back? not really. Â The noise level is really unbearable.
Review Source:I love Gabbana.  The food, the ambiance, the drinks, and the service.  Their Sangrias are awesome!  I usually go there with my best friend and mentor to decompress.  The trip is well worth it, and I wish they would advertise a bit more this hidden gem.  I think the menu has recently changed, and the Mofongo (in Ajillo sauce instead of Creole) was stupendous and beautifully plated.  When I go there, I always want Jose to serve us.  His smile is beautiful and he genuinely  goes out of his way to ensure that everything is ok.
Review Source:I couldn't ask for a better representation of Dominican food/Dominicans in New York. Having grown up in Corona and always hearing about how "great" Jubilee was because of its similarities to the ranchos in the campos of DR, I was a little scared when first going to the restaurant. i was pleasantly surprised, however. The chicken was not only presented well, but was also delicious to boot! The dessert was to die for, and let's not forget the decorations of the place. I can't wait to go back!
Review Source:I dont know what the restaurant was before but went there last week and food was bad. First the menu on there website is totally different than when you go there. i told them this is not the menu on there website and they said its the same. I ordered the shrimp ceviche and i got supermarket shrimp with cocktail sauce premixed. awlful.
$80 for a dinner for 2 for bad food. I could of just gone down to the taco truck on roosevelt blvd for a better dinner.
If you do decide to go please print out a menu from there website as proof..*****
I usually just read other people's reviews and literally "feed off" (yum-yum!) Â from other consumer's taste buds.
For this one, I think my two trips there deserve a mention and worth sharing...
Food, especially the appetizers and desserts, were really good!!! We especially love the calamari, chips and guacamole and chicharones de pollo.
Drinks, perfect for me! I had Gabba Colada and Sangria, I like girly girl drinks with minimal alcohol, these worked for me! My hubby liked their whiskey!
Entree: Huge servings, Strong sauces. My family said they liked it, I preferred the appetizers.
Location - ok, not great.
Ambience - loud, lounge-bar feel. But I went there with my little ones and had equally great time. Good thing, it is never crowded.
Service - waiter very nice, patient and polite. Cooks/food preparer - was extremely slow on our first visit, improved on the next one. However, we found something that should not be in the salad which we brought up to the management. They apologized genuinely, and gave us free drinks/desserts. Because of that, I really wanted to give 4.5 starts but it does not allow me.
Anyways, thanks to GROUPON we  this little cozy nook. Hopefully, more groupons to come because regular price is pretty steep.
Try it, you will find something you'll enjoy!
where do i start ? first off, the owners & workers know nothing about customer satisfaction. Rude, nasty, and stuck up for no apparent reason. I mean the spot is on northern blvd, one would think they would be just a little more humble. Well apart from that, the prices are city prices...which is Ok if your having a good time. This place is jam packed, you can't even move! i once was cramped in a corner trying to get upstairs for my friends party for like half hour. I know what your thinking, if its packed that means its hot. NO! If your dancing, the bouncers think your too drunk so they throw you out, quite disrespectfully I SEEN IT HAPPEN! So the straw that broke the camels back was that my cousin was having her 25th birthday there. She called 2 weeks b4 to have everything set up. The night finally comes and they didn't follow through on anything she asked for. The upstairs was supposed to be reserved because we had a party of over 25 ppl, but when we got there they said it was closed for a private party! smh! then she asked for 2 tables cuz we were buying MANY bottles. They put us in the middle of the cramped pit and the girl who was our server was RUDE AS ALL HELL! Like for real for real i tried to be nice with her but it just wasn't happening. (no i was not flirting don't get it twisted) Then we're all dancing and my cousin at this point is feeling a little nice. We bring her to the dance floor and we're all dancing having a good time when the bouncer asks my cousin, THE BIRTHDAY girl, to leave cuz she was "too drunk"...meanwhile we had ladies falling our themselves and were not even bothered by the bouncers or the owners. Been there 3 times and I will never go back to this place, it sucked at 3...its not even a great place for it to be so "boujie" get outta here for that i go to the CITY !

The food alone makes up for everything else that you could possibly be mad at a restaurant for. this place is nice restaurant/loungish place. Nice date place for people under 40 years old. Â I'm African American and normally just eat soul food. But now I will be coming here a lot!
I had a birthday dinner at this place and although it has pretty nice decor and music, the food was not good. I ordered the churrasco and was highly disappointed... maybe it was because we got there pretty late (like 10:30pm) and our server was rushing us to order because the the kitchen was closing, Â but either way my food came out really cold and there's no excuse for that! The couple next to us also complained about their food being cold as well. I was not impressed at all.
Review Source:Let me just start off by stating that I was a former employee here. I was here from about the time that they first opened up until mid summer. I love this place and I am not just saying that. First, the staff is amazing. We treated each other as if we were family. Second, the food is really good too. The restaurant is open Tues-Sun and Brunch on Sundays. The lounge is open Thursday-Saturday. Lately it has not been as packed during the restaurant hours but the lounge is a success. It is 21+ and the DJ plays almost every type of music there is. The crowd varys but overall you will have a goodtime. For the year that I was there I barely saw any fights or anything that would set your mood off. The bottle list is affordable as well. They also have a few go-go dancers from time to time. Thursday nights are usually the nights where they bring in performers. Many a-list celebrities also come wine&dine here as well as party. Def a great place to go to and a gem in the neighborhood!
Review Source:These are the people who brought you Mamajuana in Washington Heights, so they got the look down. Staff is amazing and personally this is my favorite place to party on weekends. They always have special events like Miss Jennifer if your into House music, or Geovanny Polanco, Los Hermanos Rosario, Rita Indiana, etc. they definitely got A-listers having dinner there all the time. The food is great and the prices are not unreasonable because you get what you pay for. Want bad service and ugly people go to Jubilee 5 minutes away haha
Review Source:Wow, was I surprised to see a restaurant like Gabbana in the midst of auto shops on Northern Blvd in Corona. Â What a gem in this neighborhood! Â
We went for Sunday brunch and the menu offered American dishes with a Domincan twist. Â I had eggs benedict, which was nicely presented. The portions were on the small side, so we ordered the pancakes to share. Â The food was light and tasty. Mamosas and bloody marys pair nicely for only $3 each. Â
The restaurant is also a lounge / club, which explains the very attractive wait staff. Â Looking forward to returning for dinner soon.
I was disappointed to see the place mostly empty for the two hours we were there. Â Keep this place open! Â And we should encourage more places like this in Queens!
***Food & Drinks: 4.5-5 stars****
The only reason I give it one star is because of one thing, SERVICE!
I always try to give local spot the benefit of the doubt, because I support small businesses & I don't mind spending money on quality, but they need a completely new staff (aside from the cooks and particular 1 bartender).
I've gone to Gabbana 4x's and I always go back because of the quality of food and drinks, but thats about it.
The service is just bad. It doesn't even matter how much money you spend or make reservations in advance...they tend to manage to screw something up.
First time I headed to Gabbana was told flat out that the kitchen was closed by the hostess. My bf and I were seated, handed the menu and according to the waitress, the kitchen was open. Aside from that, nothing to serious to not go back. Food was great, drinks were great, music was live...it ended on an alright note.
2nd time, I decide to make reservations 2 days in advance for dinner and stay for drinks later on that night. I ask for a specific seating on the reservations and of course was assured. My bf called an hour before our reservation time to confirm and he was told flat out by the hostess that we needed to be there on time, because if we're 15 minutes late our reservation would be cancelled. My bf and I arrived 10 minutes before our scheduled time and what happens, we're told to wait because there's nothing available. We wait at the tiny bar for 45 minutes and what happens when we're seated, its not where I specifically asked for.
3rd time, headed out here with another couple. Reservations were placed again, hoping this time for it to be honored, it wasn't. Even though we called in advance. We get a waiter and a trainee i'm guessing. We place our orders, writes nothing down (we're thinking, okay he knows what he's doing.) Our drinks take forever, no big deal b/c the quality of drinks is great. But what happens, we get the wrong drinks and the waited looks dumbfounded. We ordered a pitcher of red sangria and get a pitcher of white sangria. The red comes back, but the quality wasn't good, there was barely any fruit and they just rushed in making it. Not only that, he asks what we ordered again b/c apparently he forgot and this time writes it down. Next, we wait for a while for our appetizers and then we see the table next to us is seated and given our appetizers by mistake. No apology, no explanation, our appetizer is served with our dinner...45 minutes later.
4th time, my bf and I head there just for drinks and dancing. Every time I head to Gabbana, I always order a strawberry margarita. I get to the bar order my usual drink and am told there is no strawberry margarita by some lady bartender. I order a ciroc with pineapple instead. I'm still at the bar enjoying my 2nd choice of drink and i see a server making non other than a strawberry margarita, to make sure I ask him what that was and he indeed tells me a strawberry margarita. The same lady bartender comes back to take my next drink order and I ask for strawberry margarita. She tells me i already told you we don't have it, i tell her then why is it that the guy that just walked away is going to go serve it to. She looks at me questionably, ask something to another bartender, makes my drink annoyed and charges me $15 for it. Had another drink, did a little dancing in the crowded lounge, left and hadn't been back since.
I would love to go back because I truly believe Gabbana is a great spot in a neighborhood like Corona. Spots like these in Queens are usually found in Hunters Point by the piers, and they brought it to Corona. I grew up in this neighborhood in Queens and would love to enjoy it. The service just needs to improve because I have and will not recommend it.
If I could I would give them a - negative star * !
I was here back in sept I have my birthday party a group of about 20 guest.
I called a week befor  to set every thing up to male sure they new I was coming with a big group.. N that I needed 2 tables an would like to be up stairs I got there around 12 - bought 3 bottles of mote rose an one bottle of jack' ((city)) prices witch is fine .. Then they sat me in the. Middle of the dance fl an told me the up stairs was closed for a private party!  I was beyond pissed the place was jammed pack couldn't even move an after i spent $$ I said what the heck an started to drink it was my big. 2 5 I was a lil drunk at this point an then they had came over to me to tell me I needed to go I was too drunk!!!!
I wasn't Fallin -fighting  matter fact I still had 2 full bottles an one on the way after  spent all this money they were askin me to leave they need a reality check there in queens not in a high end spot nor is it the city I will never go bck an it was the worst b days I ever had!
Great looking place, good cocktails and the food seems to have a Nuevo Latino concept with a heavy Dominican influence. However, it's not like your average Latin spot with the overwhelming portions and grease. It's more about the presentation, flavor and ingredients. The food is very tasty and unique. I personally liked it a lot but the group I was with were expecting a more traditional Latin meal. So between the smaller than usual portions and pricey menu items they were turned off. I applaud Gabbana for trying this in Corona I just don't know how well it'll be received in the area. Wish them luck, it's not cheap here but if you can appreciate nice presentation and some tasty items I'm sure you'll like it here.
Review Source:*New* place for modern Dominican cuisine in the Corona area of Queens.
Food Rating: Â 4.5
As told by our server, this place opened in August. Â The place is an upscale restaurant and turns into a lounge on Thursdays through Saturday nights with a house DJ.
Bf and I ordered the following:
1) Spaghetti con langosta - Manchego truffle cream, asparagus, chanterelle mushroom, pancetta
<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cTu4jBwLBhS32CvaMhFkOA?select=iFEiXMd2xZZ0v4nfV71aFA">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
2) Crispy branzino - marinated in sour orange and Dominican oregano, stuffed rock shrimps, scallops, crab meat, lobster, green pigeon pea rice, coconut Spanish creole sauce
<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cTu4jBwLBhS32CvaMhFkOA?select=f_h8Bo69InMxBCV9wBrtDw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
Both dishes were delish. Â Only gripe was that the dishes were a bit pricey (for the area). Â The Crispy Branzino was $25 and the Spaghetti was $24. Â However, you definitely get your money's worth with the amount of seafood in the dish as well as the portion size. Â Bf and I brought enough food home for another meal!
Bf and I both agree the location of the restaurant is not ideal... it's on Northern Blvd and 107th Street. Â It's missing a lot of the foot traffic from Roosevelt Ave & the train station, so we hope this place makes it. Â The food was really good and the atmosphere is great! Â Definitely a gem in the neighborhood.

DEFINITELY will be back
Getting Dominican in Corona is like getting Indian in Jackson Heights, but Gabbana takes Dominican to a whole new level. The food, while having the ingredients and flavors you would expect, is very sophisticated and interesting. We were very impressed.
The four of us split 3 appetizers and each had an entree. The service was very good, our waitress was attentive but not hovering, and we felt taken care of and not rushed.
The one flaw in our meal that was compared to the generous servings of the main courses, the small plates were surprisingly... small. We split the four appetizers, and we all got just a bite of each (except the guacamole).
Appetizers:
Guacamole: Delicious and generous with a variety of interesting chips (yucca, plantain, tortilla and something else). It was very light and fresh.
Arepa Trio: Small, but amazing. Duck, chicken salad and chorizo. We split each Areapa into 4 pieces, which was *tiny* (especially considering the entree's were all huge), but the flavors were excellent.
Oxtail: Almost like a Dominican eggroll, the oxtail appetizer was excellent.
Main Courses:
Salmon: mine: The salmon was lightly crusted and cooked to perfection. The bed of spinach was the most excellent spinach I had ever eaten. The mashed... yucca? Was tasty and delicious.
Paella: friend 1: I did not get to try this, but she seemed very pleased with the dish. There was a lobster claw in the middle, and the presentation was impressive. The serving was generous.
Roasted Pork: My husband: The pork was huge. Like, gigantic bone of pork which after my husband had eaten his fill, looked like he hadn't taken a bite. In addition to impressive size, it was also delicious. Moist and flavorful.
Branzino: friend 2: Impressive presentation. Delicious. My friend did not have any leftovers.
All in all, while we were there we were planning our return trip. I'm not sure if they currently are doing brunch, but I hope they start one soon (they have a "coming soon" brunch menu on their website, but their dinner menu was expanded from the website, so I'm hopeful). A++ visit.
I felt like i walked into a small city restaurant. Â The decorations are great, very romantic feeling. Â The food comes in large proportions but everything is great. Â I would say its Dominican-American or what is called "Modern-Dominican". For appetizers, we had shrimp and Calamari with a spicy marinara sauce. Â For entree we had a paella (perfectly made) and oven roasted pork which melted in your mouth. Â We were so full but had to get dessert; mango sorbet, flan, and la creme. Â My favorite was the mango sorbet, it took me back to my grandparent's home in Dominican republic, sitting under the mango tree and eating a sweet mango. Â Only that this sweet mango was cold. Â I can't wait to get back there again.
Review Source:Corona is by no means short on Dominicans let alone Dominican restaurants. With Gabbana, chef Ricardo Cardona and business partner Yamil Martinez (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/mamajuana-cafe-new-york">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>) throw a little "fine dining Latin American" into Corona with a fresh Dominican twist.
The space is very nicely done with a rustic island sleekness not found in the neighborhood. The service was attentive and helpful without being overbearing.
The food was excellently presented, and cooked.
Calamari: great sauces, tender squid, served on a bed of watercress. Breading slightly bland and light for my liking but I guess the sauces provided the flavor.
Bacalao Guisado: Amazing. Nice balance of salty and sweet as well as soft warm mushiness against the crunch of the fried yuca/cassava.
Paella: Another home run. Choc-full of perfectly cooked seafood goodness. Seafood-infused moist rice. Deliciously sweet and firm peas. Vinegar-soaked peppers and onions. Generous helping.
Cheesecake flan: This was like flan on steroids. Take a decent flan then add even more thickness and creaminess. The raw mango topping provided some bite against the consistently creaminess of the flan itself. Yum!
Gabbana is a lounge too so I look forward to going back for a drink or three. I'll definitely be back for the food. Not cheap but you get what you pay for right!
