Really chill at night, great place for some open air, outdoor chilling, good food, exceptional beer. Â
You cannot go wrong with the Garlic Fries. Â Burgers are epic. Â You may have heard a thing or two about the beer here ; ). Â
But the real reason I'm writing, the hidden gem that is their Chowder. Â A very salty, bacon filled offering that is a great portion size and delicious. Â
Go Biersch or go home!
I've been here more than a few times and it has always been a pleasant experience. Â Have the beer...if you're not then why again did you come here? ;) Â Their food is always descent and doesn't leave much to be desired but possibly the presentation does.
Having been to over 4 different locations of Gordon Biersch...locations...this one is my favorite. Â Of course, I usually sit at the harbor side, outdoor, relaxing and sometimes tropical bar sucking down delicious beers. Â Did I mention they have an outdoor relaxing bar with live music and delicious beers?
I have been here on a couple of occasions. Â Both times the wait service was excellent and their food was pretty good. Â Of course, you must get their garlic fries! Â It's common knowledge that they brew their own beer. Â I'm not a beer drinker myself but friends that I've dined with seem to approve :)
The view is very relaxing - right on the pier. Â Sit outside! Â The breeze is perfect and you get a good view of boats coming into and out of the harbor.
You can't beat the lication here. Views if the water make it so peaceful. I love that creamy dip with the sweet potato fries. This place gets filled up at lunch with alot of groups all reserving about 80% of the tables. But don't get discouraged, walk all the way to the back behind the bar and those tables are open to the public and have the best views anyway. Staff here is very friendly and service is pretty fast.
Review Source:Cool venue for the Justin Young cd release party on Saturday June 15th. Â Awesome staff and management at Gordon Biersch. Â Helped party of 12-14 friends with reservations smack down right in front of the stage! Â Chasity, our server was the best, super attentive despite the tons of packed tables she had to handle. Â Food and drinks ono - can't go wrong with their garlic fries, ahi poke. Â Jambalaya was good, but could use more sauce. Â Had the brownie ala mode dessert which just hit the spot. P.S. they have a pretty good happy hour on Mon - Wed 4-6:30pm
We decided to come here for Justin Young's cd release party. Â It was my first time here. We sat outside where the stage was set up. One of the things that disappointed me was that I called in advance to reserve a table but they told me over the phone that this event was first come first served only and they wohld not be taking reservations. We arrived early but there were other people who must have had reservations as I saw tables with signs on them that said reserved. Â Idk if I called too late to make reservations or if the woman on the phone was misinformed but people definitely made reservations so I'm not sure why I couldn't make one. Â As for the food, we ordered the garlic fries, calamari, lobster and shrimp mac n cheese, and the strawberry cheese cake. Â Although a bit pricey, the food was good. Â We also ordered a bottle of wine and a few beers, all of which were good and reasonably priced. Â The service was friendly but not exceptional. Â Our waitress, while very nice, disappeared a lot but I guess it was because they were pretty busy. Also there is limited parking but there is a parking lot across the street for $5. Â Overall, our experience here was just OK. I'm not sure if I would come back again.
Review Source:Looks like GB has taken some beatings of late. Well, let me toss on a positive review to balance things out.
The GOOD:
-phenomenal location
-good beer with tasty seasonal specialties
-patio seating (btw, you can bring a small pooch there if you want)
-broad menu with more hits than misses
-a group of servers who seem to care about you
The NEGS:
-Aloha Tower is a ghost town
-Service hours seem a bit, uh flexible after the dinner hours
-Declining maintenance standards (maybe a staffing problem?)
-Aloha Tower is destined to become a dormitory for HPU
Our recent experience was very good. Marcia took great care of us, very personable, quick, good suggestions and excellent follow through. Reasonable price for a couple of brewskis and lunches and that gorgeous water side view watching ships and planes and sipping God's gift to humans.
I feel sorry that the Aloha Tower was run into the ground - probably one of the most valuable locations in the city and a jewel in the crown of downtown is being converted to dormitory space. Dreadful. Every harbor city in the world has a vibrant waterfront but our fearless politicians doomed this place.
Our visit was wholly satisfactory, a pleasure and we'll be back again soon. Marcia - great job.
5.8.13.
Why haven't I come here sooner?!
AMAZING Housemade Tacos - Cajun Fish ($15); if you haven't had one of these before, you've been missing out, I know I have!
Soft tortilla AND blue corn hard shell taco, YES!
Seared ahi on a bed of lettuce, topped with pico de gallo, & creamy, SPICY GB sauce, YES!
Rice and black beans on the side, YES!
I think I'm in love. GB I'll be backkk :)
Yelp 365 Challenge: #127/365
Ever been somewhere... And all the signs just point you to turning around and going somewhere else? That was my experience at Gordon Biersch last night!
Strike 1: Sorry, but when did Aloha Tower become such a dump? It used to be a pretty nice place, but rolling up, I would have thought it had gotten taken over by roaches. We saw a few while we were making our way from the parking to the restaurant. And then when we were seated outside on the patio, I saw one just chillin on the pillar. Unappetizing.
Strike 2: Is this place even open? A few friends wanted to come here. We all came in separate cars and my boyfriend and I were the first to arrive. We showed up at around 10... which I thought would have been okay since the hours say it's open until at least 1. But no one was at the host table. We weren't sure what to do, so after a few awkward minutes of standing around, we decided to grab a seat in the bar area. Then, immediately after sitting down, one of the waiters tells us that they're closing the section down and told us that only the outside patio is open. Okay then....
Strike 3: We're sitting outside waiting for our friends to show up, when a waitress hands us a few menus. I knew I wanted to try the garlic fries and wings, but held off on ordering until everyone else showed up. She assured us that the kitchen was open but we could only order from the appetizer section. Totally fine. A few minutes later, our friends call us from inside of the restaurant telling us they were seated inside. What....? Weren't we just told we couldn't sit there?
Strike 4: So. I didn't order anything outside. Upon moving inside... we were told that we couldn't order anymore and that the kitchen was closed. What...? Does the outside and inside have two different kitchens? Not only that, but after moving inside, no waiters stopped to ask if my boyfriend and I wanted anything .... But at this point I was already over the whole experience. I really wanted to try this place out and heard good things about it, but from the way we were treated I don't think I'll be back. Overall, disappointing experience. First time I've ever been in a restaurant where they don't care whether or not you're able to order anything.
808 band was awesome! Â Go c them every 1st Saturday of month. Food is good but service sucks! Slow service, not attentive, & we always had to flag someone down? This place wasn't even crowded & server couldn't attend everyone? Aloha tower is already dying as it is. If it wasn't for the band, this place would go down too & I would go somewhere else..
Review Source:After a event in the pen venue upstairs, we came here to buy time and grab a bite to eat and food to drink.
We were escorted outside and got to pick the table we wanted to sit at. There was a live band playing. When they played they were so loud I couldn't hear others talking. We basically had to get close to one another and TALK REALLY LOUD.
Our waiter wasn't the greatest at the beginning since he basically slapped down our menus and coasters. Was it because we looked like high schoolers or something?
Looking over their menu, it was quick pricey. I shouldn't have ordered anything but I did.
I got the Sweet Potato Fries. 1. Because it's fries 2. It seemed to be the "cheapest". At first I kind of liked it, but after a while, even with the sauces they provided I stopped eating. I didn't want to waste so once in a while I would eat another. My friends noticed and helped me eat them.
Our waiter got better and when he saw that I didn't enjoy my fries he asked if I wanted garlic fries instead. He came back with a bigger plate. I liked them garlic better. He also provided plates and chopsticks so we could share with one another.
I don't think I got a charge on the garlic fries. So thank you mister waiter. But then again a friend of a friend paid for everything! So thank you.
This Gordon Biersch location has a leg up on most of its other properties because of its gorgeous location right on the water in Honolulu. It's in the pretty much vacant Aloha Tower shopping center across from the Coast Guard base. We've eaten here six times and never had an issue with food or service.
Dinner at this GB typically is glorious, especially during sunset. The harbor traffic is neat to watch, and on some days, you will dine next to exquisite private yachts or ships from other navies of the Pacific. It's a unique experience to say the least. On night in particular, we witnessed a water spout (tornado) right across from the restaurant (I posted a pic).
The menu is as it should be. You get the typical rock solid GB foods along with featured GB beers. The prices, considering it is Oahu, are high but they are comparable to other brew-pubs on the island as well as other GB locations. Dining at Aloha Tower is a bit eerie because of the current transition of the property. The vacant storefronts are a bummer, and the only activity is the nearby Hooters next to the Star of Honolulu dock.
But you're not here to eat the dock or empty storefronts. You want consistently good food and beer in a pleasant, ocean-on atmosphere. This is your stop.
I went here tonight for a retirement party and I needed to write a review because I was that impressed that the food has gotten considerably better than it was 10 - 15 yrs ago. Â They must have totally revamped the kitchen. Â The lobster Mac and cheese was great and the Kobe burger was awesome! The seared ahi was also really fresh and tasty, I was impressed! And will be stopping by more often. Â A live band started playing at 9pm the crowd was a little on the "older side" to say it politely. We left shortly after that but I just needed to give them a shout out that its gotten a lot better in food and service. Â One recommendation would be to keep track of the details like the menus were rather torn up and dirty, they need to be replaced with new ones, something small like that can be a turn off to customers.
Review Source:I'm a little torn about giving GB a 3-star review. On one hand, I go here all the time and consistently have fund. On the other hand, I would go here less if there was another restaurant that had: a) outdoor seating by the water, b) ok beer selection c) solid, but slightly over-priced food d) great service e) seating for large groups, f) live entertainment g) rewards club that offers regular free beer tapping parties h) location outside of Waikiki and close to other establishments (Chinatown) i) easy parking...
I guess I'm a little turned off by the bland atmosphere which permeates all of that Aloha Tower commercial mall. Although they specialize in beer, I wouldn't say that they have a great beer selection, as they limit themselves to their own brand. The food is solid, but it is chain-restaurant food with some local flavor. Nothing to get too excited about. Love the harbor view.
Well, yah, I'm a dumbass, so I did succeed in squirting egg yolk all over my shirt. Â Typical. Â The waitress just brought more napkins and nodded and said "yes that is a messy burger" LOL.
This place looks more expensive than it is. Â Prices are actually quite reasonable. I had a really good Farmhouse burger which had bacon ketchup, field greens, and a perfectly poached egg... it was huge, really good and came with fries and a garnish of slaw for $11.95. Â I declined the garlic fries but the regular ones were hot and delicious.
They brew their own beer... I tried the beer flight which gave you samples of all 6 of their draft beers for $6.25. My favorite was the Hefeweizen.
Happy hour specials are only in the bar area and only Mon- Wed so I didn't get to enjoy that.
View of the harbor is amazing. Â Big, spacious, and clean dining areas with lots of varied seating areas indoor or outdoor as you please. Â Service by Anna was excellent.
I'LL BE BACK! Â Could be very fun with a group of friends.
Only knocking a star because I ordered the burger medium rare and it came medium well... and I really think they could have given me a scoop of slaw instead of one tiny spoonful.
The rest of Aloha Tower Markeplace is virtually empty due to recent purchase by Hawaii Pacific University... my server told me Gordon Biersch is not going anywhere, they've been there 20 year and they're staying, business as usual.
First off....thank you for your honesty! I'm writing this review because I respect an honest staff. I always try each restaurants version of chicken wings. So far...out of all the places I have had wings, THESE WERE THE BEST!! I had a couple of their home brewed beers which were fantastic. Garlic fries and burger were great! I also had their wedge salad. All was perfect!! I am pretty picky and I'm really surprised everything from the food, drinks, and staff were perfect! I believe a great crew is a direct reflection of great management! So great job everyone!!
Oh yeah, about why I was impressed originally. After a perfect lunch at Gordon Biersch, I went home and went about my day and went to sleep. The next day I realized that I had left my expensive Oakleys at the restaurant. I though, "no way they're still there". So I called just to see if they put them away for me. Sure enough, they did. I couldn't believe it! They could have easily ended up in someone's pocket...but they didn't. This is the main reason for writing this review. Thank you Gordon Biersch and staff!
Last night, I went with my friend, fellow yelper, Shelby B. to this place because I saw a damn delicious looking picture of the Artisan grilled cheese she posted on ig. So ever since then, I've been wanting to go here to try it.
So it was my first time there, heading there I thought i t was going to be packed, we'd have to wait long, blah blah blah. We get there, and got seated right away which was beautiful! I was surprised how fast we got seated. We got to sit outside by the pier, a lovely spot. The only thing was how dim it was out there, really only a small candle lit the entire table. Not a big fan of dim places. I actually want to be able to read the menu and see what I'm eating. Anyways, our waiter was friendly, though braddah could have paid a little more attention to when our waters were empty. But I understand we're not his only table.
Now the food, we ordered the crab/artichoke dip. It was http://bomb.com, I would order it again! It came with like sourdough like chip pieces, perfect combination. I ordered that Artisan grilled cheese I've been craving, and oh man it was delicious! Cheese, bacon, and avocado, doesn't that sound yummy?! I'm not a big fan of avocado, but it wasn't overpowering. And of course you cannot forget the side of the delicious famous garlic fries! Those are my fav, though the fries were a bit cold and soggy :/ but you can't beat that garlic taste! Thank God it was a girls night out, and not a date, garlic breath for days haha. I tasted my friend's stuffed chicken, that tasted great as well. Â
As we were leaving, a live funk band was playing, they sounded pretty good. So overall, it's a good atmosphere if you're looking for a fun/chill night. Nice location, though it's sad to see how dead Aloha Tower is :(, ono food, and live music.!
Guess I have said this before... but I was so less than pleased last night, I feel compelled to say it again.
The only reason I go to Gordon Biersch is for the live music on the pier bar. Otherwise, the food is mediocre and the service is weak, at best. Last night a friend and I sat at a table for over 10 minutes and no one came by. Â Had to go to the bar to order drinks. Â The order was came to the table incorrect. Asked for water at the table, one was brought, not two. Â Asked for the check -- twice. I'd describe our server as indifferent. Â The staff vibe is un-enthused and like your being there is a burden. Â
I'll keep coming for the music, but will be well-fed and hydrated before arriving.
After some good suggestions from my fellow Yelpers, I decided to meet my family at the Aloha Towers. Â I came across Gordon Biersche Brewery Restaurant by a total fluke and have never been so happy to be surprised. Â It's a large restaurant/bar that has a great selection of food and drinks for everyone.
We were actually looking for a place that we could kill a few hours quite literally. Â This establishment is absolutely huge and has a gorgeous view of the harbor. Â I thoroughly enjoyed my coconut-infused rum Marguerita. Â The service was excellent and they understood that we just needed to sit, drink, eat and just relax until our flight back to Kauai later that night.
My soft shell/hard shell Lobser tacos were delicious while the cheese cake was only saved by the strawberry coulis that was drizzled on top. Of course going to a brewery and not getting a beer, is kind of like going to France and only drinking Tequila. I drank one of their seasonal beers and I must say that as a proud Canadian who loves his quality beers, the American craft brewery scene is changing my perception of American beers. Â
So overall folks it was a nice place with a HUGE menu (a little overwhelming) with very cordial service and a nice atmosphere. Â Whether your a tourist (like myself) or a resident, I'm sure you wont' be disappointed if you swing on by.
Enjoy and bottom's up!
So a friend of mine was in town and asked the wife and me if we wanted to go out to dinner. Â What the hell, why not. Â He says let's try Gordon Biersche. Â Whatever man. Â I have not had a steak since January 11, 2013. I was hesitant to get one here on February 20, 2013. Â I ordered the GORGONZOLA BONE-IN RIBEYE
Marbled, massaged, masterful cut of the rib primal topped with bold Gorgonzola cheese. Not sure if it was so good because of how long it has been since I had a steak but I will have to say it was cooked perfectly (medium) and tasted pretty damn good. Â
So if you go to Gordon Biersche, try the Bone in Ribeye.
Came here on a sunday football game for some appetizers and some drinks. We ordered the pineapple mojito for drinks, mozzarella sticks, crab artichoke dip with crostinis, and garlic fries.
The pineappe mojito had no pineapple taste. It was more minty and limey than anything else. That's all you can see...mint and lime (3 lime slices). The mint were mostly dead mint leaves too. I watched the bartender make it for another couple and he didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. No wonder this is called a brewery place, it's easier to just serve beer.
The appetizers came after 5 minutes and was ok. The mozzarella sticks, of course, was good and cheesy. The crab artichoke dip had more cheese than crab or artichoke and the crostinis that was to be dipped in the dip was stale. It was toasted but it had the chewy texture like stale bread. Horrible! Not worth another try. The garlic fries were good since I asked to go easy on the garlic. Service was good but we're not the needy kind of customers anyways. View was gorgeous, of course.
If you want a decently priced meal with appetizers and a beer with a nice atmosphere, Gordon Biersch at Aloha Tower Marketplace is a good choice. Â
Their menu is decent and has a good selection of local favorites on their appetizer menu such as poke, edamame & fried calamari which are all tasty and priced right. Â For main entrees, they serve everything from burgers and steaks to pizzas and salads too. Â The burgers are nice & beefy and cooked to perfection and come with a side of garlic fries which is a great touch. Â The pizzas are tasty and decently sized and certainly a good choice if you have a lot of people and want to share an entree. Â Overall, the food is decent quality for the price and the portions are good too, making it a good value.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the beer selections when coming here as this is their specialty too. Â Gordon Biersch is a microbrewery after all and they've got a good selection for every type of beer drinker. Â Personally I like my ales and they don't disappoint in this department. Â If you're into cocktails they serve the usual stuff that you can get anywhere else such as martinis, long island iced teas and other tasty drinks.
On certain nights there is live music performed which is a great treat if you like this sort of thing. Check the schedule at their website - http://www.gordonbiersch… to see what bands or performances are on. The entertainment offerings range from live jazz to good ol' rock and roll, so you're sure to find something that suits your taste.
Lastly, if you ever find yourself looking for a good place to catch the Superbowl and don't want to go to someplace that's already crowded near game time, this is a good spot to go. Â A few friends and I went here yesterday and arrived an hour prior to kick-off and were able to get decent seats facing good sized flat screen tvs. Â In addition our servers were great and kept our drinks filled and the food coming which is always a plus when watching the big game!
So would I come back again? Â Yes! Â For a decent priced meal, drinks and service, this is a good place to go!
The outdoor patio seating along the water is great. Â If you time it right you may catch a nice sunset. Â Plus above the outdoor bar there is a big screen tv along all 4 sides, though the glare can be bad depending on timing. Â Would like to return to catch live music.
The inside bar has many flat screens strategically placed to view the game action. Â No distracting water view from there, lol. Â The bartender was amenable to changing the channel on 1 tv to the 49er game because the previous game went into OT (bye, bye Broncos!). Â
Ordered housemade potato chips, pulled pork sammie w/garlic fries. Â The chips were sliced thinner than thought - had thickness of Maui style chips in mind. Â The sammie had a generous portion of pork with a smoky sauce. Â Was disappointed by the garlic fries because the fries tasted stale/old & not tossed well with the garlic sauce.
Parking: Â If you enter before 4pm, 3 hours free with validation. Â Otherwise a flat pre-paid rate of $5.
Aloha Tower appears to be slowly dying with many vacancies. Â Too bad because it is perfectly situated for water views.
View 5 stars
Tv w/sound on 5 stars
Service 4 stars
Food 2.5 stars
Changes to parking: Parking after 4 PM is flat rate $5.
I came to hear the Bop Tribal band play (friend in the band). Maybe the jazz music put me in a great mood, but it was all in all a pleasant experience. I got the Sliders Combo ($11) and a beer. The Sliders Combo had garlic fries, 3 mini shredded pork and 3 mini Kobe burgers. It was juicy and tasty (the juiciness makes the burgers soggy after a while though, so chow down!) I was stuffed which made it a good deal. Total bill was about $17, which I think it's reasonable prices during happy hour.
Later, my buddy got a cheeseburger for like $10 (also comes with garlic fries), and he enjoyed it too. That is priced alright I think as well.
(Minus a star for the parking rule change.)
Happy hour Monday-Wednesday 4-6:30.
This is a great spot that's often overlooked because of how dead Aloha Tower has become. But if you think about it, it's hard to beat free/validated parking and downtown dining on the water with live music to boot!
The burgers here are onolicious and fairly priced. I can never pass up the garlic fries either.
I arrived early the last time I went and waited at the HUGE bar. I was deciding on a beer selection and the bartender was gracious enough to let me sample a couple different ones before pulling the trigger. That's customer service, something rarely found nowadays.
Seating at the outside lanai area is usually my favorite, especially around sunset time.
This Wednesday at the last minute my girlfriend and I had to change our meet up venue downtown for pau hana and she suggested happy hour at Gordon Biersch as their Garlic Fries are supposed to be out of this world good.
The garlic fries definitely felt like they were from out of this world as when I reached into grab one it was icy cold.
I didn't really understand of how icy cold frozen fries got mixed up with piping hot ones but I have to give credit for the quick problem resolution which was an apology and to immediately give us a new order of garlic fries in literally under 1 minute.
All cocktails for happy hour (runs until 6:30pm) are only $5, wines are $2 off, and beer $1 off. Â Happy Hour food items are also generously portioned and are priced between $5-$7. We ordered the slider combo $11 ( 8BBQ pork and kobe sliders) and they were very filling. Definitely try the Pomegranate Elderflower Mojito, it's so delicious and not overly sweet for a cocktail.
It was interesting in trying to get the check at the end. I asked my girlfriend if she saw the server as he had not been by in 20-30 minutes and she replied with " yea he's behind the bar sitting and eating." You know, just because you are behind a bar does not mean that it is a wall. We can still see you. But perhaps Gordon Biersch doesn't have a place for its employees to take a break? Anyway my overly abused wallet, due to Christmas shopping said thank you to the $21 total check which included 3 appetizers and 2 drinks.
Aloha Towers is just a shell of what it used to be so I was pleasantly surprised to "rediscover" Gordon Biersh Brewery. Â Sometimes you just have to make it to the back of a place to find out how good it can be. Â
First off, anyplace that makes its own beer automatically is a good place; yes, it is a chain but since the beer is done on-site you can't really call it a chain. Â The beer selection is very good with rotating seasonal beers. Â I've always been a HefeWeizen fan and they do a good one here; the Marzen is also very tasty but a little sweet for my taste but is refreshing on a hot afternoon.
I kept it simple on the food; Garlic Fries and the Kobe Cheeseburger. Â Burger was done just how I ordered and glad to see that their Garlic fries are more than fries with garlic salt; had fresh sauteed garlic and parsley. Â Both were a hit with me; definitely want to try the Farmhouse Burger with Bacon Jam and fried egg! Â My wife went with Moroccan Chicken on their Lighter menu and really enjoyed it as well; chicken was very well marinated and juicy.
All in all, we were very pleased with our food, beer and service. Â This place is huge so if you have a big group, this we would be a great place to meet up! Â We'll definitely be coming back!
A good place to go for pau hana M-W. Â They have an awesome happy hour menu - $5-10 for appetizers, sliders and beers, wines and well drinks are discounted. Â Recommend the calamari, shrimp, garlic fries and the Tapas (Especially the tapas-yummmmm). Â If you order from the regular menu, its a bit more pricey, but you get a satisfying amount of tasty food.
The thing I like MOST about GB's is the live music and atmosphere. Relax in the outdoor bar, overlooking the harbor, listening to music and having a pau hana drink. Ahhh . . doesn't get much better than that! The food is good, beer is served a little too warm for my liking, but I'm told that is so you can get the fullness of the flavor, so I steer clear and have a nice white wine.
Also, if you are a Passport member, you earn points for every dollar you spend, as well as get special offers (like $5 added to your card to use toward your next tab). Â
However, be prepared to have slow service if they are busy. Â They don't seem to have enough waiters to go around, but they do scramble and try to keep up. I think they just need to hire a couple more for the happy hour, or when they have live music, as it seems to really draw a crowd.
31 Day Yelp Challenge-11/31
I always enjoy the Gordon Biersch at Aloha Towers, but I was disappointed with the Airport location, but it IS an airport location right??
The only positive thing about the place is that it is open till 10:30pm, and right next to the Hawaiian Air gate 27.
Negatives-
-Prices are outrageous
-Service friendly but slow
- Small and cramped atmosphere
- Drinks not worth the price, order beer instead
- There really isn't much too say about this one
- Prices are insane
- I would walk around and find something the next time, unless you have a late fllght...
I really enjoyed this place. Â Right by the water under Aloha Tower, there was a good breeze which was nice as it was a hot evening and we got "outside" seating along the rail. Â The staff was super friendly and accommodating as I was in a cast at the time and the waiter even grabbed me an extra chair to prop up my leg.
I got the Mediterranean Chicken which was really tasty. Â I would def get that again. Â Lots of flavor. Â I also tried the Ty Ku Soju Superfruit Martini and boy was that delicious! Â Really strong too so light weights beware, haha!
What there's a Gordon Biersch near Gates 27 & 28 ???
Hell ya there is!!
They have 4-5 GB draft beers on tap and a full bar.
GB serves breakfast till 10:00am.
Soups,Salads,Sammies,Crab Cakes and of course those Famous GB Garlic Fries!..
So whether your flying out early or late it good to know that GB is here to satisfy thirst or hunger needs.
Aloha! Have a great safe flight!
Since I work downtown, I come here a lot with friends and co-workers after work for Happy Hour. Â As a Facebook "Fan" I was excited about the Happy Hour announcement that Monday-Friday this week, select wines were being offered at half price all day.
A small group of us arrived at 5:00 p.m. Â We were seated outside and when I asked about which 'select' wines were being offered at half price, I was told that it was only Monday-Wednesday (this was Thursday) and only during happy hour. Â Hello?! Â It was 5:00 p.m. Â Doesn't THAT mean Happy Hour?!
Needless to say, we were not happy campers. Â I grudging ordered the Cellar No 8 Cabernet at regular price. Â It was awful!!! Â Fortunately, the waitress replaced it with the House Cabernet...but that still doesn't make up for the "bait and switch" feeling that I came away with.
If you want to remain our "go to Happy Hour" place, you'd better start honoring your advertisements :-(
Quick tell me what is so great about Gordon Biersch. The food...um no, the service (explanation pending), the location...um maybe.,the beer....okay yeah I like beer. Come on Cy is Gordon Biersch that bad? Okay maybe not, but those who know me, I'm all about service. I will finish the remaining review with a Hell to the no attitude. (With the head bobbing and finger waving) Â We had a party of over 7 people and we asked to sit somewhere in the shade. They walked us out to the outside lanai (we should have keep walking out). Not sure why because it was completely empty inside.
The waitress arrived pretty quick and asked us if we wanted to drink anything. Our luck the beer we wanted was out. I wanted to order some food but she said she is only taking drink orders now. That would be fine but we didn't see her for over 30 minutes. In fact we had to go hunt down a busser to let the waitress know we are ready to order. No apology for her delay, she just took our orders. Â
over 2 hours later......
Still no food! We got a little irritated to see a table of around 6 people who got here after us, got their food before us. Â Here we go again trying to find our waitress. Â No where to be found, the only person who seemed to care about us was the busser who came to check on us and went to go look for the waitress.
Once again no apology, she just says its busy and our order will not be ready for 15 minutes. Bottom line our food was not made yet. Â Fed up we decided to leave. Now I can totally understand if you are busy. If the waitress kept checking in with us, it may have not been to bad. Oh by the way an apology would have been nice. By the way the waitress was sure quick to give us our bill for our warm beer. Â
I'm not a waiter, but if food is NOT coming out, Â go check on your customers. By far one of the worse services I've ever experienced. You just lost someone who really loves beer, thats means a loyal customer. Do I wanna go back? Thats a hell to the no!
