The only thing that made my night enjoyable was seeing the guy I came to see, Colin Quin. He was hilarious. He gets 5 stars, but I can't say much good for the establishment itself...
If you go, DO NOT BUY THE VIP TICKETS it is a WASTE OF MONEY. Get regular seating, and if your gonna order food, get appetizers because at least you know what you're getting, fried bar food that is hot and cooked thoroughly. Â Here is my story to back this up:
I ordered 2 "VIP" tickets with an included dinner. Don't ever do this. Dinner rolls came out still frozen. I asked to waiter just to throw them in the microwave or something, instead he comes out (20 mins later) with garlic bread (not the rolls) and it was cold again.
I ordered from the special dinner menu, rib eye steak... it was obviously not a rib eye when it came out (false advertisement), and it was cold, again. I did not eat it with fear of getting sick... if the cook can't even heat up bread properly how am I supposed to trust a steak? My girlfriend had some chicken and pasta dish, it was also terrible. I cook better meals at home for a fraction of the price this is no joke. I wound up ordering motz sticks since I refused to eat the crap they had been bringing me and it was the only good thing I ate all night.
I didn't bother to send anything back after the 2nd bread incident; the server didn't bother to follow up on anything, even after returning the bread. No "how is everything" or anything like that... so the food was bad and the service was bad...
Go for the comedy, not for the food or service. If they could only pay some attention to important details like this then this place would be much more enjoyable.
I'm on their mailing list, so I only go out here when the admission is free. Easy to get to from Brooklyn or Queens and there is plenty of free parking. The bar grub is pretty good and reasonably priced. Stay away from the mixed drinks and have beer or wine. These are 2 things the bar staff can't water down and overcharge for. Tip is inclusive in your bill, so keep an eye on your tab when you get it. I've been here 5 or 6 times, and it is much better than going to Manhattan to overspend.
Review Source:Went here on Saturday night to see Joey Kola. Â His show was hilarious. Â Opening act was very good too. Â Tickets were reasonably priced at $22. Â The bill at our table for a party of three with mandatory purchase of 2 drinks and some apps came to $64. Â I am not sure if that included tip or not, but we also tipped the waitress so next time I will definitely read the bill more closely. Â You can see from any seat in the house which is great. Â You cannot reserve specific tables though - first come, first served. Â The place could use some updating, but it was fine for what we came out for. Â The food and drinks were typical of any bar. Â We definitely laughed the night away and will go back. Â Ladies - definitely bring a sweater because I was freezing in there!
