This place is great! My parents live on the island and I took them for dinner one night based on their recommendation. I'm not sure how many Chinese food places there are on the island, but this one is awesome.

Hmmm....I'm on vacation on an island that has tons of seafood places.  Not sure, why, but we drove by this place and I'm curious to know how the food tastes there.  In my stomach says to keep driving, but my head says.  Give them a try, you could be surprised, who cares if you can get Chinese food anywhere, you can get seafood anywhere too.  Well my daughter was getting fussy and we knew she wouldn't last in a restaurant.  So we took her back to the hotel and decided to get take out.  Well, that's how we ended up here.  The restaurant is about 2 blocks from our motel.

The inside is actually pretty nice.  This is both a takeout and a sit down joint.  The sit down area looks updated and clean.  We did takeout because my daughter was cranky.  Well if anybody has read my other posts of trying new Chinese places, I always order the Kung Pao Chicken and Hot and Sour Soup.  I did just that, my wife got the House Special Lo Mein, we also got some egg rolls.

The food was cooked fresh, with exception of the hot and sour soup.  The place you order from is pretty small, I head the lady put my order in Chinese and a few seconds later, I heard the chef cooking up the food.  My kung pao combo came with an egg roll and pork fried rice.  The food was cooked pretty fast, I then walked back to out motel room.  The food was still hot when I got back.  I started with the kung pao.  Now, if you look at the picture, you'll see there are tons of veggies in there.  I'm a purist an like my kung pao the traditional way of diced chicken, peanuts, and green onions.  I can over look this if the dish has a good flavor.  The chicken here was also sliced instead of cubed.  Still no biggie to me.  The taste was off, it didn't have the kung pao taste, it instead tasted like Hunan Chicken.  For Hunan chicken, I guess it tasted o.k..  I thought the pork fried rice was the highlight of my meal.  This actually had the most flavor.  I also thought the egg roll was decent, that's a rarity because I usually don't like Chinese style egg rolls.  The hot and sour soup, to me was not good.  The broth had no flavor, to be honest it tasked more like water with tons of hot oil inside.  It was very spicy, but overall lacked flavor.  If you are here stay away from this soup.  The other might be o.k.  My wife said the lo mein was o.k, but it really is hard to mess up this dish.

O.K., now I know what Chincoteague Chinese Food taste like.  Its out of my system.
