Hacienda Amigo Mio

I have to write a review for my favorite Mexican place in town. It's close to my work, and the lunch specials are the best! I always get the shredded beef enchiladas with extra sauce, and it always tastes delicious. Salsa is spicy which I love, and my waiters are always very friendly. It's usually the same people working, and they always remember my order. I've ordered to go a few times, and its always good (except the cheese sticks to  the foil!). I will continue to eat here as long as they still have the awesome lunch specials!

Worst service ever asked for more chips and sauce and more water never got it waitress went to the table next to us three times. Beef was so salty needed to go across street to Jacksons and get 64 ounce pop. We normaly go to the one off Good Pasture but I don't know if we will go back to give this company our money.

I had a very disappointing lunch here that left me feeling deceived, overcharged, and unsatisfied.  The two criticisms I have are related to a business decision that was disappointing and a miscommunication that I could have avoided if I hadn't made an assumption, so take that under consideration if you feel confident you can avoid these scenarios better than I.

The food was fine (even if the shredded beef was dry), but I was charged $9.25 for lunch after pointing to. $6.25 lunch item and requesting a different sauce.  The waitress directed me to the higher cost item on the menu but the price shown was lower than what they charged because thu highlighted the one enchilada price.  Chapalas is where I up lunch and they will substitute a sauce for a lunch enchilada without extra charge.  The restaurant will get every penny from you at a premium, so beware.

Second, when the enchilada choices listed were cheese, chicken, beef, and picadillo, I assumed beef was shredded and picadillo was ground because the picadillo ie had was closer to a hash.  My error was in assuming I knew that beef defaults to shredded and the one I chose (picadillo) meant ground.  My advice is to check assumptions to avoid getting the wrong meat.

The unexpectedly expensive and dry meal was an eye opener and I will return my future business to Chapalas.
