Finally had a chance to visit this place after hearing about it from friends in the past thanks for an Open Mic night on Tuesday. (A friend of mine performed.) I really liked the feel of the place and my bar tender was excellent. I was thrilled to see they offer Kilkeney Irish Beer--one of the few places I've discovered in the area serving it. Â I spent most of my time in the bar area, which was very roomy with a lot of large screen TV's for the sports fan. Â I will definitely re-visit in the future and give their dinner menu a try.

I met up with a group of friends from high school (yes, high school) 6/28 and really had a good time.
The Harp sits back off the street in a shopping center behind a Wendy's and THAT was a bother in finding it for *ME* but....I know where they are now. Â heheheheh!
I arrived late so I missed out on the dinner experience but I'm posting to face book so I hope the other attendees comment on the food they ordered and service. Â I did order the rock fish bites for the abbreviated menu and they were BANGIN'. Â Really, I could have devoured a platter of them with that yummy tempura batter. Â Lip smacking good.
I see dancing wasn't listed in the original review so I imagine some tables had been removed to make a decent dance floor area. Â If you go on Friday night, take along some friends. Â It seemed our group made up the majority of the dancers.
The bar was set-up like a sports bar with numerious flat screen TVs to keep you sport fans occupied.
Bartenders were friendly, the clientele was mellow with a mixture of older ,younger, black and white (although one guy did get tossed, I have no idea what he did since I was busy on the dance floor), the DJ was friendly and agreeable and played our requests.
Two complaints.....
I tried to call for directions when it was clear I was lost and their phone system looped me into a VM system. Â Fortunately a gas station attendant helped me find my way.
The dance floor was a bit HOT and I would have liked the occasional burst of cool air.
I will be going back and I'm thinking a St Paddy's Day celebration would be a hoot there!

Â It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is huge...cavernous, almost. Â Big enough to host a large reception for a special event. Â Not much natural light hits the bar or dining areas, but you can see what you're doing. Â We ordered the crab fritters, pork shank, and fish-n-chips. Â The fritters were simply deep-fried Baltimore-style crab cakes, perfectly prepared and cooked exactly right. Â Would be nice if they were made with local jumbo lump instead of plain lump, but that's a very minor rub. Â We loved it. Â My pork shank was HUGE! Â Biggest shank I've ever seen served at a restaurant. Â The meat was tender and had minimal fat. Â The glaze they use with it was also good, but they could use a little more salt during the slow-cooking process for the shank. Â The mashed potatoes and side of cabbage I ordered were both excellent. Â The rockfish fish-in-chips was another HUGE portion...more than most normal people could eat in one sitting. Â The fish inside it was moist and well-flavored...I would not have changed a thing. Â They fry the waffle fries separate from the fish, so you don't taste any fishiness when you eat the fries. Â Thumbs-up on that move! Â Add two pints of Kilkenny and an OJ and you get a dinner bill for two people of $60 with plenty of leftovers for lunch the following day. Â On our way out, we were met by the chef who cooked our meal and he asked us how he did with everything. Â Nice touch at the end of a very nice dinner.
Review Source:The portions here are hit and miss. My husband had an Ahi tuna appetizer for his meal, and it was $10 but it only had a few peices of fish on it. I had a wrap and it was very filling. One of our party had fish and chips and he had to take it home. He's a big guy, if that helps.
All in all, the taste was good. Nothing that blew me out of the water. I'll have to go back and try something else, or check out the billiard room at the back. The fact that I'm willing to check it out again is good, but the fact that I haven't set a date on my calendar must say something too.
Try it for yourself, who knows, maybe we got the wrong things. I will note, that the number of beers on draft is impressive, and being Irish, a good number of them are Irish brews, which is a plus.
This had been one of my favorite restaurants but had a horrible experience trying to plan an event there. We tried reach the event person twice and left message and never got a return call. Finally we stopped in one night and talked to the manager Connor. Connor was very helpful and I was sold on the venue. Connor took my name and promised to have the events planner call me.
 She did call me the next day. Now we have been told the week before she was in M-F 11-3 which are inconvenient hours for those who work. I asked her to e-mail me their liquor packages to look over and told her the date we wanted. I also mentioned I was working from home on Tuesday and would most likely stop by at lunch. Not once did she say I won't be in on Tuesday.
 Tuesday at 11:30 I called and asked for her and was told she wasn't in. I explained my situation and the lady took my name and number and said she would try to get someone to come in to help me.
 Around 1:45 I had not heard anything so called back and asked for a manager. I was told there was no manager on duty until 4. I explained my situation and they got me Brandon who was the chef. He was helpful and apologetic and took my name and number and told me he would have the GM or assistant GM call me when they got in. Needless to say I never received that phone call.
 The next day I received a call from the event planner. I went through my story and I got a half apology and that was it. At that point it seemed obvious they did not want my business.
I really like The Harp. Â My favorites are the bruschetta (not like any other bruschetta I've had), the rockfish bites, shepherds pie, and any of the flatbreads. I also had my sister in laws bridal shower in their conference room and the guests were really impressed. Â The service has always been ok for me and my family members. They could always be a little more attentive but it has never been bad. Â If I want some comfort food on one of my "cheat days" I would definitely go here.
Review Source:love the restaurant, but the service could be improved. I will have to admit that the dining service is a little below par but the food and the overall atmosphere is worth the wait.
Sunday's for Ravens games/fans is awesome and the bar runs great specials.

Also their salads and soups are very fresh. The prices are a little expensive but the food is worth every penny. Small, inviting atmosphere!
The Mediterranean chicken salad was amazing!!! Â Even though I had to pick off a gazallion mushrooms, have it give it to 'em.... The salad was the bomb! Â Now, the service on the other hand ... mmmm - Not so great. Â In a nutshell, I came there with a group for a dinner meeting, I ordered my food, and they delivered it to a seat that no one was sitting at, only I had no clue that my food had been delivered being that I was sitting on another side of the room... Â Anyway, I waited.... and waited.... and waited.... for my food. Â A little over an hour later, I decided to (miss some of the fantastic content of the meeting and) go to find the server to ask her about my food. Â We then ended up discovering that my food had already been delivered over an hour before to an empty seat. Â
At that point, I asked them for a new salad, as the once piping hot freshly cooked chicken was now cold, and my once cool greens of my salad were now warmer than desired... Â They grabbed the (SAME) old salad, and (I'm sure) threw the chicken in the microwave and brought that very same salad out to me 2 minutes later w/the same warm lettuce that I specifically asked them not to bring back out. Â
You know it wasn't just the fact that the meeting started at 6:30 and and most people began eating their food between 7:00 - 7:15, and I was JUST RECEIVING my food at about 8:25....  It was the fact that  in order for me to sit for OVER AN HOUR waiting on my food - that OBVIOUSLY meant that the servers ceased to come back to check on ANY of us in the room after they brought our initial food out.  Believe me...  I was keepin' my eyes peeled to see anyone that even remotely resembled a server b/c I wanted another drink as well.  I mean, after making a person wait for so long to bring my food, then you bring the food (and FORGET THE SILVERWARE - BTW), I have to get silverware on my own, then you don't even look to see if I needed a drink refill (WHICH I DID!)l....  That says a lot.  So.... my overall experience here wasn't too great.  With that being said...

Service - 1 star (only because negative 3 is NOT an option!... - I mean LITERALLY)
Food - Â 5 stars (it really was a slammin' salad & I'm not your typical salad kinda gal)

So im not sure what made this place an Irish bar other than placing an "bangers" on your menu and putting an Irish spin on the name other menu names i didn't really feel the Irish influence in the restaurant .
1. Service:::: After ordering soup and being told "it will be out in like .(snap)" we waited about 15 min while there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant that had already ate. Table touch were regular and drink were refilled and the server though a little awkward did the best he could
2. Food ::::: the food was great also not terrible. The good ..the food fit the descriptions of what we ordered (Dagwood)(tempura crab app) and it was also served at a good pace and hot temperature.
The not so good.. The fresh chips were served burnt and stale as we're the hash browns. The server could have seen the state of these items and asked for fresh before serving them to us.
3. Atmosphere::::: even though the dining room is very clean it seems strange having a enormous chandelier covering event lighting. The greeting at the door could have been a little more welcoming y standing with a smile instead of sitting and being hid behind the host stand.
OVERALL if you looking for an average place to grab bite to eat and beer for decent price this is the place for you.
The Harp used to be our FAVORITE restaurant until quite recently. It seems like they might be in trouble financially because they are really starting to skimp on the quality of some of their dishes. The past two times we've been there something we've ordered has been sub-par. The first was the fish and chips. Mostly batter--VERY LITTLE fish. I wish I had a picture of the before and after shots of this meal that used to be my favorite. The other is the southwest chicken panini. It used to be served with a solid piece of GRILLED chicken, but the past time we've gotten it, there was only pulled chicken--a much cheaper option. The prices are the same, but the quality is not nearly what it used to be. I'm not sure if management has changed or what, but BRING BACK THE QUALITY. This restaurant will never be successful if it doesn't start making quality food again.
Review Source:What won me over besides the adorable bartender (Andrew, I believe) was my grilled cheese with the house fries. They were amazing. I loved it. It was a party in my mouth. No one but this grilled cheese and fries were invited though.
On top of that my pals and I got a free mixed drink. If only we drank fruity mixed drinks! It was still a nice touch tho. I will be back!
This is one of my favorite lunch spots. Â Really great soup/salad/sandwich options for $7.99 or flatbreads for $5.99. Â Lots of windows---great for meeting a friend or client. Â Convenient location on Belair Road. Â Sit in the bar area as opposed to dining room for lunch. Â Lots of big screens. Â Different specials during the week worth trying (like burger days or steak and cake). Â Service can be a little slow, but servers are friendly!
Review Source:FYI It's no longer 'The Twisted Harp' it's now 'The Harp' not sure why they decided to truncate the name but whatever. Â While I think the staff here was great and they took very care of us I ended up with food poisoning from a burger. Â So as a result I don't I'll ever return and give them a second shot.
Review Source:I have come here three times now, the most recent being yesterday. Â I have been pleased each visit with the prices, the friendly service, and the yummy food!
I recommend: flatbreads--really any but the Margherita yesterday was mmmmmm delicious and awesome with its $5 Sunday price, Irish burger, their bangers (whether with mash or as a sandwich), their potato chips that they make, their breakfast flatbread, and these two desserts: triple chocolate mousse (it's a cake slice) and the Bailey's cheesecake (I don't even like Bailey's!).
They like to rave about their crab dip, which is novel, but it didn't really impress me as much as their other food.
The service is really friendly, but every time it gets to be time for dessert and/or the check, that part tends to be slow. Â The whole rest of the time they are great, so they just need to tighten up the ends better.
For those who don't like the decorations . . . psssh. Â I like the chandeliers. Â It has a nice intimate, cozy feeling.
This was our second visit in a month and once again, we were loving this place! Our party of eight was seated in the billiards room on a Saturday evening. We started with appetizers: fried fresh mozzarella, onion petals, jerk chicken and cream of crab soup. The mozzarella is for a discerning taste - can be bland, but I love the freshness of it. Plus the sauce is a nice compliment to it. Onion petals were sweet and crisp. Although the jerk chicken was tasty, I would have preferred a little more seasoning or kick to mine. Entrees we enjoyed included the Banger boat, Irish Beef, Rockfish sticks, corned beef/cabbage and the Shepherd's Pie. For $12, the banger boat - two bangers in a roll (boat) covered with champ, fried green beans and Irish Stew (yes, you read right!) - is enough for two hearty meals. The Irish stew was as tender as it gets and the flavor of the gravy is deep and rich. The rockfish is tempura battered and the Shepherd's Pie is indeed a meal to fill you! For dessert we had the homemade pineapple upside down cakes and triple fudge cake. The only item we were disappointed in was the bread pudding - very dense and heavy and not a good overall flavor. Our server Dorothy was extremely attentive and very nice. This is definitely our new favorite restaurant!
Review Source:Don't let the name fool you - the restaurant isn't so much a pub as a sports bar connected to a series of dining rooms with little pieces of pub stuck to the walls. Â Think suburban banquet hall with a pub theme. Â That said, the kitchen has got it goin' on. They know what they are doing back there. All the roast beef dishes we ordered were excellently and productively paired with cheese. Homemade (American) chips were great as were the waffle fries. Side order of cabbage was deliciously prepared with generous bacon pieces. Â A salad with chicken breast on top was found wanting, but...someone just ordered the wrong thing. Great service, albeit the servers are all a bit young. Big, clean (completely un-pub like) bathroom. Â Worth overlooking the out of place chandeliers and uninviting architecture for the food.
Review Source:I. love. this bar. I live right around the corner and my boyfriend and I were looking for a quick place to eat. The bar was packed but we got a table pretty quickly. Service was a little slow, but the staff was friendly, there were great beers (I had Killian's and my boyfriend had a Bull Dog). The fish and chips were awesome and so was the shephard's pie. We're making this our new haunt. Can't wait to go back.

Review Source:I've been to this restaurant three times now, and it really does seem like they're trying. Â I must report, however, that these efforts have largely been for naught. Â While the atmosphere is different and fun, each time I've dined there I've endured apathetic waitstaff. Â The food was also mediocre. Â I'm usually a pretty easy to please guy, I ordered a chicken pesto flat-bread pizza. Â The menu made it sound delicious. Â Slap some pesto on something and 9 times out of 10, I'm sold. Â The pizza was minuscule for the price, I couldn't taste any of the pesto, and the "sun dried" tomatoes were just regular diced tomatoes. Â Very disappointing. Â I left hungry. Â Also, (And I just thought this was funny, not really a big deal) my waiter at this IRISH restaurant didn't know what I was talking about when I ordered a Smithwick's (Pronounced "Smitticks") Ale. Â After a second of staring at me blankly, he responded, "OH, you mean SmithWICK'S!" Â Fail.
Review Source:After my last review, someone from the restaurant contacted me to ask how they might better serve vegetarians. Â I gave suggestions. Â Many suggestions. Â I'm sorry to say that upon a return trip, it appeared that nothing had changed. Â Hey, I'm not saying that every restaurant has to be a vegetarian restaurant. Â I'm saying that 5% of the U.S. population identify as vegetarians, and they want to have fun at your restaurant too. Â It's not so difficult, jeez.
To their credit, they served me a house salad without the cheese and bacon. Â I also had a margherita flatbread which was pretty good.
Met my mother and sister here for lunch....(good way to start St Patrick's Day week :).
Harp on tap! YAY! Â The menu has lots of choices ( my mother seemed intrigued by the "All Day Irish Breakfast" Â though she didn't order it.
My mother got a chicken sandwich and my sister got a burger. Â Both were huge. Â I almost got the corned beef sandwich, but in the end I went with MD Crab Flatbread. Â It was good.
Service was a bit slow on the drink refills, but otherwise great.
If I still lived in Perry Hall I would definitely be back soon!
