The first reviewer had it right with the awkward layout. You can choose bar or restaurant, but if you choose the latter, there's no hostess station. It's definitely a strange, misguided feeling.
It sounds like the initial reviewer didn't eat the food, which is a shame. We actually enjoyed our meal. We've been several times. It's a nice place to go if you'd like a quiet dinner mid week. The cream of crab soup is quite good, and the menu has a decent spread.
Check them out, though I would suggest to management to figure out a better greeting situation. I can't imagine it's fair to patrons or serving staff alike to figure that all out on the fly...
Bad. If you want restaurant side, you walk in and stand in the middle of the room as it takes forever for the hostess to come out. But you're in the middle of the room so everyone's looking at you. First sign was that no one in the room looked happy. We're seated at a table with drinks still on it. Our hostess came by after a while to get us drinks b/c our waitress never showed. Drinks took a long time and we finished them before anyone came to get our order. We realized no one around us was getting food so when they did come for our order, we decided to leave and go somewhere else for dinner. Good idea considering the old man and his wife next to us got up and walked to the bar for his own drinks b/c no one took his order. But he walked with a cane so he could only get one drink at a time and both trips he walked right by the wait staff with his drink and no one offered to help him. Terrible.
