This is a coffee and tea bar? Â Really? Â I missed that.
After the Yun Tan Gil UYE a few of us ventured to Haru for drinks. Â This place was a nice surprise. Â You never know what to expect when you go to places in shopping centers. Â This bar is sleek and modern, and would be a place I would come to often if it were closer. Â There were about 6 or 7 of us so we grabbed a booth type area that had couches on each side with a table in the middle. Â Every bar we went in K-Town this night was out of Hite (Korean beer) so we ordered a bucket of Shiner. Â Our waitress was really nice and friendly. Â Someone at the table ordered some kind of chicken dish and it looked yummy. Â Then out of nowhere a huge tray full of fruit was brought out to us. Â Very nice! Â I enjoyed watching the Korean videos on the wall, and listening to Korean music that did not match up to the videos. Â Still a fun place that I would go back to again in a heartbeat. Â Maybe I'll sample some of the coffee and/or food next time.
A few friends and I came here for "a few drinks" and then throughout the night "a few drinks" turned into a whole bunch. We didn't get too plastered or anything, but it was so chill that we stayed for about four hours worth of drinking. The cute barkeeps were also very entertaining company. Haru is kind of a small bar, but not cluttered as to make you feel claustrophobic; this place is quite clean.
Review Source:We came here for drinks.  We had various teas and a  mixed drink of shaved ice and milk to which are added various boiled sweet beans ...
Mmmmm mmmmm.
It was delicious.
As mentioned in the first review, the design of the place is a amazing. Â Its a pretty hip place and we'll probably go back for more.
I really, really don't know what to make of this place. Â Haru is in the middle of a business area on the border of Dallas and Irving, just outside of Dallas's Korea Town (did you even know we had one of those). Â It's almost hidden in plain view, save for the dramatic and attractive graphic design on its door. Â We found it randomly while looking for a new way to get to Cinemark Movie Theater. Â
Haru serves coffee, tea, and a limited selection of desserts. Â They also hired a Japanese chef to make a selection of Bento Boxes, but I didn't get to try them. Â Strangely enough, Haru also has bottle service, Â with Grey Goose, Patron, and other liquors available for a (substantial) price. Â I'm not sure if they're going for a club feel, or a lounge atmosphere, or what. Â
The design of Haru is incredible! Â Dark woods, private booths, attractive vegetation. Â I haven't seen anything like it in Dallas, especially in such a random location as this. Â They have Jazz on Fridays, and other music on occasion. Â Quite a little jewel.
