It was our second time back to Harvest Grill this evening and we're already looking forward to going back. We had none of the serving issues we had the first time around. The server was friendly; the food this time was spaced correctly; and, most importantly, once again everything was delicious! We had the almond encrusted goat cheese and beet salad as apps; the five spice duck and scallops for our entrees; and tried several of their sweets for dessert (the peanut butter cup and the white chocolate cheesecake being our favorites). The scallops were the best we've had out in ages and the duck was cooked perfectly. All in all a great experience.
Review Source:Delicious, fresh food! Â My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Â My husband had the goat cheese and crostini appetizer, which had a delicious jam to spread on the bread, as well as apple slices. Â So yummy! Â I had an entree salad with grilled chicken that was very tasty, but not as tasty as his pear and gorgonzola flat bread. Â He was not happy to share with me, it was that good. Â We each got a dessert (coconut cream and banana cream) - both delicious and love the size of them. Â Not too big, just the right size to finish off the meal without feeling stuffed.
Really appreciate the farm-to-table approach, as well as almost all of the entrees being under 500 calories. Â Even though we didn't take advantage, the bar menu looked very nice, especially the wine flight, where you could pick ANY of the wines in the restaurant.
We will most definitely go back.
It's really a 3.5 star place for us. Â I think I feel the pressure to love a trendy "hot spot." Â Nice enough to go back, not fantastic-enough to go rushing back. Â But I am appreciative there is finally a restaurant of this ilk in the area.
The positives are plentiful. Â The menu is great. Â The ambience is great. Â The staff is very friendly. Â The restaurant is clean and new. Â Food presentation is top-notch and beautiful. Â
The negatives were annoying. Â We waited half an hour for our appetizers, in a not-busy restaurant. Â Our server explained there was a large party of about 10 people in the back, and the kitchen was swamped. Â Our food would be prepared after they were served. Â A party of 10 should not halt an entire restaurant for that amount of time. Â The appetizers were very good. Â The entrees were very good too, cioppino and filet mignon. Â Nothing special for the palate; a tad under-seasoned. Â
The desserts were presented on a tray after dinner, and we were served the ones we wanted with no waiting, directly from the tray. Â And they were scrumptious.
Caviat: Â The children's menu is great and organic, but the pasta is whole wheat pasta (not cited.) Â And yes, we have a child that won't even consider eating brown spaghetti! Â The server was extremely helpful in changing the order happily and quickly.
We'll definitely go back. Â It's our new "special occasion" restaurant.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here tonight. Shared a margherita flat bread and baked goat cheese (on crostini's with a jam) and i had the spicy tofu stir fry (I added shrimp). Service was excellent and dessert was good too! Everything tasted fresh. I will return again in the future. I was also pleasantly surprised at how large the restaurant was.
Review Source:Reviewing the new location in north wales as it just opened up a couple weeks ago. First time eating at any harvest location. Wife had the duck and I had the short ribs. Apps were the margarita flatbread and the mussels. All the food was well prepared and cooked properly. Add to that a couple glasses of wine and your up to about 100 bucks. Can't wait to return to try out something else from this wonderful menu. I am attaching our entree pics that I took without a flash FYI. Only thing we didn't like very much was the farro that came with the duck. It tasted more like oatmeal that was not fully cooked. But since this was my first time eating it, it may have been perfectly cooked and I didn't know. It's nice to know there are more than enough items on their menu under 500 cals to choose from and the small deserts are just the right size at the end.
Review Source:Easily made reservations online and even though they were busy when we arrived, they seated us promptly. The remodeling that was done from the old Restaurant is tasteful. The waitstaff was efficient and friendly. Maybe a little too attentive for my taste. The food was very good. The only misstep was the salad was overly salty. They did bring me a new one which was perfect. I couldn't help but notice that the restaurant is nearly a clone of Seasons 52. I'm not sure if they are related or not but there are too many similarities to be a coincidence. Only real complaint was the level of noise. The music was up pretty loud which may cause people to speak loudly. Not sure, but you have to shout to be heard. Overall a great experience though.
Review Source:Drove by to see if they were opened yet, and they had opened the day before! Â An exciting time to try a new restaurant! Â This is their 3rd location (University City and Glen Mills I believe were the others). Â The concept is pretty cool and fresh - farm to table seasonal menu with most dishes under 500 calories. Â It was hard for me to not make the comparisons to the Seasons 52 concept - SO many similarities, even down to the fire, wood, stone comfy decor. Â But I am a fan of both places!
Vanilla lavendar mojito was unique and sweet, watermelon lemon martini was very smooth and not too sweet.
Waiter recommended basil pesto caprese flatbread was good. Â Very flat (see pic) and light. Â The other flatbreads looked compelling for a future visit - Jamaican jerk chicken and rock shrimp.
We tried the recommended Alaskan Halibut which we were told was a best of philly winner, and the cedar planked salmon. Â Halibut was outstanding, on a bed of buckwheat soba noodles with a ginger teriyaki glaze. Â Excellent taste and texture. Â The salmon came out very well done (cedar was burned) and the waiter was quick to offer to take it back and make a new one. Â The manager came over to apologize and offer dessert on the house - very nice touches and not unexpected that there will be some kinks to work out in the kitchen on Day 2. Â Handled professionally and we enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back, especially since its so close to home.
Dessert were individual shot glass portions, nost under 250 calories. Â The strawberries and cream was light and yummy, and the recommended chocolate covered banana cream pie was a standout.
So, kudos to the waitstaff for knowing the menu and being able to make recommendations, and for being prepared to calmy and efficiently deal with the inevitable growing pains. Â The bar area is very nice, actually the decor of the whole place is very nice and inviting. I could definitely see meeting friends here for a drink at the bar and/or dinner or appetizers. Â A great addition to English Village!
