Love the live music! But will warn about prices! Had a to buy a $20 ticket per person. Drinks were extra weak and twice the price for half the quantity. So had a $100 tab from two people and didn't even feel it and then spent $95 on tickets for 4. Wait staff was good. Didn't eat there so can't say.
Review Source:Visited the venue to hear a band play the music was good and there was a $10/pp cover charge. The real deal: Place is up stairs (alcohol and stairs do not mix), the drinks were beyond watered down, ordered Crown w/ 7Up neat asked the bartender where is the Crown he tells me " we are on inventory and have to watch what we pour" I replied but there is zero Crown in this drink, he says I can add a double shot so the cost of two Crown/7 Ups with 2 double shots $23.00. There is no where to dance should the rhythm move you. Suggestion move some of the tables in front of the stage and dim the lights while the band is playing (create some kind of ambience). Not a bad neighborhood spot to pass some time. Smoking is outside (per City of Lewisville ordinance) which means one has to walk thru the puffers to get inside. BTW I do not mind smoking venues just hate the down side which is leaving smelling like an ashtray (price to pay to hear good music).
Review Source:Horrible layout for a bar. When you walk in you feel squeezed through a tube until you walk around the back to where the stage is. The jukebox is next to the bar which gets crowded so it can be hard to reach. The bathrooms are past the door going the other way so on busy nights they can be hard to get into. The drinks are poured by a friend of mine named Amber who is the sweetest and a very hot number. This is one of the 5 best bars in Lewisville and certainly the most highly respected. Big name acts come in here to play regularly and any local knows Coach Joe.
Review Source:Nothing like a dive bar especially when you are seeing live music. And when that live music is the Reverend Horton Heat, can you really ever go wrong?
I have now been here twice, both times to see the Rev. And as for the music, it's great.... as for the prices on the beer and drinks? Yeah, that's a bit of a ripoff. Five bucks for cheap beer? Yeah a former coach for the Cows owned the place but you don't have to charge what they do at Jerryworld for beer. Just saying.....
It's a great atmosphere and you get a wide range of people and most all are pretty laid back for the music. The bar does get packed for the booze, so you will be waiting to get served.
As I said, if you're going for a good band, it's a cool local spot. Just grab a few brews before you go in.....
Apparently it isn't often that a band with a decent following comes to this part of Texas. Â The Reverend Horton Heat was doing a tour of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and stopping in places like this. Â My brother being a fan got us tickets and we came with a group of his friends.
This is a sports bar. Â A coach from the Dallas Cowboys owned it, but he recently passed away. Â Beers are expensive. Â It gets pretty well packed. Â It is pretty much the experience you would think you would get in most any sports bar in any city aside from the fact that you will see more cowboy hats here. Â Plus smoking is still allowed inside and therefore you get that added experience of coming home smelling like a cigarette. Â Woo hoo!!
I don't know why this place has gotten some bunk reviews.  I came up here for a Johnny Cooper concert and thought the experience was great.  The cover was a touch more than I was expecting but nothing outrageous, the drinks weren't all that expensive, and the staff was polite and attentive.  I never waited more than a few minutes to get served at the bar.  Hat Tricks is the perfect venue to catch and intimate performance of  your favorite band.  It only holds around 160 people so it's small and comfortable.  You can get right next to the stage and given the size of the place there isn't a bad seat in the house.  The only complaint I have is that it is way to smoky.  Overall I really liked the place and would go back for a concert again.
Review Source:Hat Trick's was not at all what I expected. Â This place is definitely a hole in the wall. For a live music venue, I envisioned a little more space and seating. Â There were a few tables in the aisleway/entrance and some on the other side of the bar near the two pool tables, a few right in front of the bar (which were reserved), and a couch seating area. Â The rest of the space was standing room. Â Overall, a pretty small place.
The menu offered more than your average bar, a good range of options. Â I was really looking forward to the pizza, since the website boasted "best in Lewisvillle". Â After waiting 45 minutes (no exaggeration), I was so disappointed. Â I tried adding ranch, I tried adding parmesan, then I had my friend taste it. Â We both agreed it was funky. Â Luckily they took it off the bill, but there wasn't time to order anything else because the show was about to start. Â I munched on my friends' appetizers (calamari, fried pickles, stuffed mushrooms and wings). Â They really enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms, and I thought the calamari and fried pickles were good. Â The service was ok, except for the long wait for the food.
The place was packed since a popular local band was playing. Â The show was great. Â The waitress was friendly and did a pretty good job. Â She came over to us regularly, even though we moved. Â I never did get one of the drinks that I ordered, and still got charged for it, but I didn't bother saying anything. Â
This probably isn't a place that I would frequent, but I will definitely be back if there's a band I want to see.
Sidenote: Very smoky.
Pros: Â They have beer, are frequented by characters
Cons: Bad spot for a concert.
I almost feel a little bad reviewing this place, as I've only been once.
We were there for the Fuel concert. Man, what a bad performance. It was like watching a figure skater fall.
Extremely smokey. Â Bordering on claustrophobic.
Met some unique people. A dude lamenting about his life's miseries brought on by a penchant for chasing 20-something chicks in his 40s. A lady that was relieved she wasn't the only person over 30 in the place. A chick so botox'd that the big ass check from Publisher's Clearing House couldn't illicit a surprised countenance.
Hell, I'll probably come back...
Hat Tricks is a lot of fun!  From poker to karaoke to great bands!  It is first and foremost a bar with pretty decent bar food  (they actually got voted top pizza in Lewisville in '09 and '10) and yes, there will be smoke-I mean, come on, it is a bar in Lewisville where smoking is allowed!  The bartenders and regulars are great fun.  Football season is always awesome..Coach Avezzano owns the place and is here all the time and they actually sponsor other teams' fan clubs.  There are tons of TVs around and usually have several different sports games on them. Â
I went last night to see The John Corbett Band and Friends and while they were pretty good, the band before him, Mike Ryan, was GREAT. Â (John Corbett is as gorgeous in person as he is on-screen!!!) Â Stoney LaRue plays here quite often as does Johnny Cooper. Â Cody from Cross Canadian Ragweed has been known to drop in to do a show, also. Â It's a relaxed atmosphere and very casual. Â If you are looking for upscale, this is not your place. Â If you are looking to have a few drinks, take in a game or play some poker, or watch a great band, then this IS your place!!
Umm, no.
My other half was craving a burger and fries, and I had a B1G1 coupon from the entertainment book. Â Now I am not a foodie snob who only dines in 5 star establishments with a maitre d and all, but this place is a dirty dive. Â You walk in and feel nasty because of the smoke and surroundings. Â The laminated menus feel and look like you might need a shot from the dr. after holding them. Â Food was ok, I could cook better. Â I love food, pool, and sports but won't be going here again to enjoy any of them.
Great laid back atmosphere. Â There are televisions and big screens everywhere to watch sports. Â They have weekly events such as karaoke and Texas Holdem. Â They have live music on the weekends. Â Their drink prices are good.
However the best thing about Hat Tricks in their food. Â Their pizza is without a doubt the best in town, and take my word for it and try the Buffalo Chicken. Â Definitely the best I've ever had.
