I was surprised to find a pho restaurant in Moraga, but since I'm a big fan of pho, we decided to give it a try. Â Well, we were highly disappointed. Â The pho tasted substandard and portions were pretty small. Â Since the pho was $9 (which is expensive for pho, especially for a hole in the wall) we thought the portions would be at least medium to large, but the portion was pretty small. Â The broth was not flavorful and the meat was overcooked and chewy. Â Upon entering, the waitress offers either water or a cup of hot tea.....but they charge for a cup of the diluted hot tea, which is very uncommon at asian restaurants. Â Because I was still hungry after the meal, I had to grab a sandwich afterwards. Â But the service was good and courteous. Â I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, NOR EVER GO BACK.
Review Source:I think I wrote a review on this place already! There are duplicate businesses in Yelp for this place.
Using IT lingo, I think it is time for a "Merge/Purge" on the Yelp data base.
Note: See "Little Hearty Noodle" for more reviews on this same place, like mine! Don't blame Yelp for the duplication, blame sloppy Yelpers who can't get the name right, or don't do a proper search! In IT terms, "User error"!!! OR, GIGO! (I am in the midst of a CRM conversion, so I can relate to User Errors!)
This tiny place has higher than normal Viet food prices (well, it's in a mall, in upscale Moraga, high on a hill where the only people eating here are local residents in their million dollar homes, or St. Mary's students with their 6 figure education, so supply and demand!)
Hu Tieu $8.95 w Thai iced tea. That is not your $10 lunch, it is over that amount.
I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese food. Â I usually get the chicken bun no matter where I go. While this isn't the greatest I've had, it's still pretty good, it's cheap and I think a solid value for the neighborhood. Hole in the wall atmosphere, good for pickup if you live in the neighborhood.
