Visiting from Chicago, so I stopped in for the Bears game. Â I got a seat, but many others weren't so fortunate. Â The service was erratic, mostly because there were so many people and so few staff. Â Still, the game was on (not on TV at the hotel) and the drinks and food were just fine. Â I'd return, but I'd get there a little earlier to ensure a seat.
Review Source:The food was good.
Service was not so good. Â Friendly, but we ended up getting our own menus, silverware and napkins came after the food. Â One of our orders was wrong.
The restrooms are in the hotel and, well, they were pretty nasty. Â My 5 year old daughter refused to use the ladies room due to the stench. Â She ended up using the men's room with my husband.
But yes, the food was yummy, we had two kids meals, the grouper sandwich and crab cake sandwich.
I stopped by here last weekend when I was in Hilton Head on vacation, and had a great time! Â Hinchey's is a great place to grab a beer and watch your favorite sporting events. Â I came in on Sunday to watch the Chicago Bears game, and was able to watch that, as well as all the other games, as they have plenty of plasma TVs to watch games on. Â
The service was quick and friendly, the people are great, the food is good, and the prices are very reasonable. Â They also have a great outdoor deck with 2 plasma TVs outside as well, which was great! Â
If you are looking for friendly people, quick service, good food, reasonable prices, and plenty of sporting events to watch, Hinchey's is the place. Â I'll definitely be back for more next time I'm visiting.
Dinner & drinks for two people totaling under $20? And it's delicious? Yes please!
My mom lives right around the corner from Hinchey's, and on a recent visit we completely let time get away with us, chatting away, when we realized it was getting close to 10 pm and we'd not eaten yet. No worries, Hinchey's to the rescue!
We entered the front door, learned right away the kitchen was still open, and grabbed some seats on the patio to enjoy the gorgeous weather. We weren't super hungry, so ordered the grouper sandwich with fries to split between the two of us, along with a pair of rum & cokes.
Our drinks were brought out to us almost immediately, so we could start sipping on them right away- always good on a late, warm night.
Then came the next surprise: Our food arrived and had already been split onto 2 plates! Half a sandwich each, both with perfectly sized portions of fries and a small side of coleslaw. The grouper is advertised as being "fresh, local" and with their "own special beer batter" and it did not disappoint. So delicious!
The final shocker of the night was our bill. Food was $9.95, and the drinks were only $3 each! Even with tip we were out of there for just $20. Amazing.
Hinchey's: you have earned my loyalty, and I'll be back to visit you every time I come to the island.
Slow service. The salad does not look fresh. So I chose not to eat it. I heard my friends say they didn't want to send their burgers back since they ordered them medium rare and received them well done. We were going to a movie so we didn't have a lot of time. The pasta I ordered was mediocre, but being a vegetarian and eating out my options are limited. The first glass of wine I ordered was obviously the end of the bottle. I looked around to see everyone else enjoying a much larger glass of wine while mine maybe had a sip/sip and a half of wine upon the 1st delivery.Ambiance was good. The outdoor patio was nice and music was fun as well.
Review Source:We visited Hinchey's for dinner one night while visiting Hilton Head. Â They had a good drink special ($2 domestic bottles), a decent menu (variety of items at decent, reasonable prices), and a good location (on the beach, but they're moving elsewhere soon). Â
We ordered the garlic bread topped with melted cheese as an appetizer. Â It was good, but too small an order for sharing with five people. Â It came with three toasted hoagie halves, leaving each of us with about 3 inches of bread. Â
I ordered the Italian sausage hoagie for my entree, which came out hot and smothered in tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Â The fries served with it were piping hot, but I passed on the coleslaw side, as did almost everyone else at the table (we're not coleslaw fans), so that seemed like a waste. Â
Our server was very bubbly and attentive. Â The atmosphere was decent, but like all Hilton Head dining establishments, nothing to rave about. Â It was basically a sports bar/pub. Â I've been to Chicago several times, but I'm not sure what was "Chicago" about Hinchey's other than some photos of the city here and there, but I'm not going to fault them for that. Â
I'd return to Hinchey's when visiting Hilton Head again because the food is fresh and good, there's a wide variety of menu items, the prices are very reasonable for dinner, and the service was great.
We came here when for something quick to eat to hold us over, and both ordered drinks and appetizers! Â But while the food we ordered was something so simple, it was delicious! Â (& filling!) The staff was very nice, and I got the vibe that it was also very family oriented, because there was a little girl hanging out talking to all the staff. Â (sounded like she knew them all!)
