Driving down Groesbeck, I did a double take upon seeing a large mural of a dog between two turntables painted on the side of a building. Â Before I knew it, i was driving straight toward it to investigate. Â As I crossed Groesbeck and drove diagonally through a parking lot, various honks reminded me to be careful as I followed this tractor beam of fabulosity to its source.
Pulling up alongside, I thought I'd scoot up to the entrance, but was blocked by a ledge and railing. Â I'm sure passers-by giggled upon seeing a strangely dressed middle-aged chick shimmying over, but I cared not. Â Upon entering, friendly folks greeted me. Â I grabbed a menu and skedaddled back to my car, hopping off the ledge as I vowed to park in front by the door next time!
The hubby & I have ordered from there several times now-here's the scoop.
VERY friendly staff! Â Delicious, large salads. Â The pizza is great-they don't skimp on the good stuff! Â They even flavor up the crusts all fancy-like upon request! Â The Cajun one will light up your lips-be warned. Â But the piece de resistance? Â That 3-cheese bread! Â Hoo-WEE get some now! Â Â It's equally delicious for breakfast the next day oh yeahh!
Fast delivery, and those guys are nice too. Â What's not to love?
Fresh Hawaiian, garden salad! Excellent!!
Julie C. and I stayed in with our wine, fire(well we tried anyway!), and Christmas Carols this Saturday...the icing on the cake, Hip Hop Pizza and a garden salad! Â Fresh salad, great veggies, crisp, we inhaled the whole bowl!~ Â The pizza was hot (delivered too!) with great flavor! Â Bacon, ham, and pineapple, my "once-in-a-while" favorite! Â Very good, can't wait to try other pies from Hip Hop! :)
As a college student, I cannot tell you how many drunken gatherings have been saved by Hip Hop Pizza. They are always open later than most pizza places in Mt. Clemens, and they are very quick with their deliveries. Prices are fair, and they have really good cheese bread, square and thin crust pizza. Also, they have funny names like "Slim Shady" for thin crust pizza. They are very similar to Jet's Pizza, but they are always great on the phone and let us use credit card and coupons verbally from the website.
Review Source:I laughed when I first read the flier that I pulled out of the door handle at my condo. I was going to make lasagna that evening. I arrived home late and decided to order pizza. I hadn't had good luck with pizza places since I moved to Michigan. I decided to try Hip Hop. I was wildly surprised. As a former New Yorker and a bit of a pizza snob. I have to say Hip Hop Pizza was really, really good. Great service ordering, quick delivery time and it tasted great. I mean, I didn't miss New York anymore great. It is that good.
Review Source:Decided to try out Hip Hop tonight for our carry out dinner night. We really enjoy trying new places, but with certain things we stick to what we know as not to be disappointed. We read a review here, and on other sites that all gave Hip Hop at least 4 stars. We were impressed- couldn't wait to try.
Ordered a cheese bread, small round with cajun crust and large square. We are pretty plain, so we got just pepperoni.
I enjoyed the crust of the bread and lg pizza- crispy, dark edges, buttery flavor. The sauce was also yummy. Overall, the square pizza was good.
The cheese bread had WAY too much cheese for us- to the point of ripping it off and eating it plain because it was just too chewy. We happen to be huge cheese lovers, so this was disappointing.
The round pizza was really just not good, imo. The crust was really thick for a round, just too much. The cajun flavoring was also not good. It was like the kind of seasoning you'd use on chicken breast, not a bread. It was basically just chili powder and that alone can be overwhelming.
I don't think we'll be going back. Just not appealing. And sad after all those good reviews!
