I am so sad to have to take away a star, because I loved this place this summer.
The good: the service I have experienced every time has been off the charts great. Water glasses promptly refilled (a common stall technique at AYCE places is to leave you thirsty), quick orders, very sweet waitresses and hostess. I have sat for hours there catching up with friends and finishing multiple bottles of wine and never felt rushed. The fish is fresh and does taste good; the rolls are creative. The place is big enough, isn't cramped, and there has never been a wait when I have gone.
The bad: since this summer, they have redone the menu. When I used to go, there were a ton of roll options and I didn't have the problem that earlier reviewers did with excess rice. I felt like I had found a huge hidden gem! But at my most recent visit, they were working with the much contracted new menu--far fewer rolls, far less variety, and an odd lack of non-tuna or non-salmon rolls. Yellowtail really isn't that expensive, but it was nowhere to be found on the menu.
Such a bummer, because the people and price are outstanding.
