The Hoppy Monk

I came in to El Paso for work and randomly tried this place.  It was definitely the food highlight of my trip and I would definitely go back again.  The food was fantastic.  I had the rabbit tacos and I was really happy with it.  Absolutely some of the best tacos I've had.  The hot wings were excellent and the beer selection was awesome.  The staff knew their beers and everything was served properly.  I ended up coming back the next night and it was the same excellent everything.  Go here.

Awesome place. It had been about 3 months since my last visit and I was blessed enough to get the same waiter, Andy. Really cool guy and made the experience great again. After ordering a refreshing beer, I ended up picking up three t-shirts (two for gifts as I'm trying to get the name out on this place). This is still one of the best beer selections I've seen in El Paso, and it bests some of the restaurants I've been to out here in SoCal.

I hope this place keeps up the good work and if I end up moving to El Paso, I'll be in weekly.

WE had a medium sized group event here and it was great experience all around. The staff was very friendly and helpful and KNEW the menu. I mean BOTH menus, this place has a separate menu (with more pages) just for their beer selection. The waiter (Anthony) was very familiar with both menus and helped just about everyone in the group with skilled recommendations. The food was very good and the presentation was spotless. This is the best place in El Paso we've found to date that's casual and under $40 a plate.
If you're cigar guy, and I am, they also have a small but decent cigar selection. The 59 Robusto was excellent and obviously cared for properly before being served to the customer. My compliments to all the staff and managers at the Hoppy Monk!

Single Complaint: Get a sign you can see from the road! I drove past this place three times. The only signage is the name painted at the very top of the roof facing the street. The sign in front does not have their name. Seriously, if we can't find you, we can't enjoy the great place you've made.
