Wow. Haven't been to this place since 06 and 07 when I was still in high school. And now that I am 23 I am seeing that it still has the high school vibe to it. I have lived in California for a while now but even keeping in mind that this is still El Paso, there needs to be a better alternative/gay scene in this place. I enjoy that it's open until four and people can go after the bars close at 2 but it needs a lot of work. Still looks the same and has the same speakers in the same places I use to dance on in high school. I think a renovation is in order. And you're charging a cover because your clientele can't buy drinks. I think you have the money to make some real needed changes.
Review Source:Come here if.....
1) You enjoy the company of 17-18 year olds running around like crazy rabbits.
2) You love having straight military men shoot you ugly looks.
3) If you like giving your money away (cover charge!)
The OP could be a great place to go (big dance floor, four different bars) but it is anything but. Their 18+ allowance give the place a high school feel, since this is the place they come. And also, for whatever reason, there is always a huge amount of straight military men...men who look like Frankenstein and have the personality to match.
But my real grievance is with a particular incident. Long story short....
Went out to the OP, was watching one of their midnight strip shows from their second floor. We noticed a group of straight guys approaching the MC who would later say to the whole club, "Hey everyone, please do not harass our straight customers. So stop hitting on these boys!" First off, these boys were ugly at best...but let me get this "straight." They had straight guys complaining about being hit on in a gay club.....yea I know.....So, I found this not only homophobic but offensive. Would I go to a mostly Latin club and complain about being hit on my Latinos? Or with African American, Lesbian or whatever!?
So in conclusion, why pay a cover to hang out with teens and straight homophobes when you can go to another bar/club with no cover charge and where the owners remember, Â "Oh shit THIS IS A GAY BAR!"
