Houlihan's has an excellent lunch menu, and guarantees quick service, so that is perfect for lunch meetings.  The great food, service, and atmosphere is why Houlihan's is our office's #1 choice for meetings, and our reps have also enjoyed it so much that they suggest it anytime they come to meet us.  Also, I love that they are flexible for food allergies and substitutions, because I am medium to high maintenance with food, and have never had a problem here.  I highly recommend the soups, the bean salad (love it!), flatbreads, scallops with golden mashers, enchiladas (if they are still there), and all of the desserts.

Before today, there's no way I would ever have thought that I'd be giving a 5 star review to a Houlihan's.  And then I met Bill, our waiter.  (server #60352928WI P)

I have an open message to all area restaurant GMs: HIRE THIS MAN.  Attentive, Polite, Helpful, Cordial, Etc., Etc. Bill is an ace. I don't know if a different server would have altered our impression, but Houlihan's management needs to ensure that all their staff members treat customers as Bill treated us today.

Besides outstanding service, the food was great.  My burger couldn't have been any better, and my companion's Brentwood Chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious.

The Houlihan's of the past is a distant memory.  This restaurant was tastefully decorated . . . and CLEAN.  I look forward to my next visit.

We originally took the kids to Houlihan's on a weeknight to try a local place we hadn't yet visited, and I was pleasantly surprised at the great overall experience. Since then, we've been back several times, and have always had a consistently good experience. We are quickly seated (reservations help!), and the restaurant has good overall decor and vibe, and is absolutely immaculate. The wait staff are more than pleasant - truly friendly, and quick to bring drinks and answer questions. The restaurant manages to pull off being family friendly and very nice at the same time.

The kids menu has some variety of options for sides (like brown rice with pineapple) in addition to the classic mac & cheese, burger with french fries, and pizza that you see on almost every kids menu.  The kids meals also came with their own small appetizer (carrots with ranch dressing) which is great for hungry kiddos. The adult dinner comes with a good bread and butter, although once we finished it, no refills were offered. The food quality was really nice, we've been for brunch (excellent!) and dinner. Our only complaint about the food is that the dinner prices were a bit high for such small portion sizes.

They make up for the dinner prices in a small way with a wide variety of well-made mixed drinks that are extremely reasonably priced, and they run wonderful happy-hour specials.  Overall a great local find.

I've been to this Houlihan's twice in the last 6 weeks.  Both times were great.  The service was a little better the first time, but good enough the second time.

I really think the food is exceptional for a chain.  The first time I had a burger, but the second time I tried the pot roast.  It was very good!  The desserts are good (S'mores fondue) and some good beer/drinks on the menu as well.   Will be back.  Some people like to rag on places because they're a chain.  But I give credit where it's due - for what they do, they do it well.  I'm a fan.

Another one of our local hang outs, one of the things I really like is that I rarely if ever have to wait!   That is a big deal sometimes

What is also good is that the menu is large, the food is usually good, and it is reasonably priced

One of my go to items was the ahi tuna salad - but I have to say that something was a bit off the last time (change in dressing?)

In any event, we usually leave here happy and the wallet can sustain the bite, so all in all, we keep going back!

I finally went back to have an early dinner with my girls on a Friday evening. The place was pandemonium. The servers and the rest of the staff seemed to be not only busy, but a bit lost. We ordered the girls' dishes and I ordered a white bean salad and a baked potato soup. Simple enough, right? Wrong.  Our order took quite a while for something as simple as ready-made soup/salad, chicken tenders and a couple of pot stickers. I got my white bean salad and my daughters got their food but the soup never came. The white bean entree was supposed to have among other things, goat cheese...The goat cheese was nowhere to be found and the beans were low in seasoning and had absolutely no salt.

After waiting about 15 more minutes for a soup and the server promising it was coming, I had the chance to talk to a manager because she came by the table. I asked her if they were picking the potatoes in the field...So, finally she got my soup. Later, my daughters asked for the ice cream scoop that they are supposed to get with their meal. Again, it took FOREVER AND they had the nerves to bring it all melted to the table.

The server while very pleasant was mediocre at best and spent way too much time  chit-chatting with an older couple in spite of having about 4 other tables to look after.

I DO want to give this place another chance and will most likely go again at a less busy time...because it fails in times of pressure.

This place ROCKS!!!! I have been receiving their email alerts for almost a year now and finally decided to try this place out after getting a happy hour email.  I went on a Monday and the Monday Happyneings special is all drinks half off all day and from 4-7 all apetizers are 6.95 or below.  I sat in the bar area and I'm mad at myself that I cant recall my servers name, but it was something cool.  He was awesome.  The drinks are even cheap on a normal day.  You can get a pitcher of top shelf long island for $7.50 or something!!  Anywho the drinks were all delicious.  The food was yummy.  I had the calamari, my brother had the pork sliders and his friend had the sweet thai wings.  We made our own little mini buffet.  I was surprised and disappointed that the place wasnt packed.  I feel like I have to single handedly try to keep this place open by telling everyone what they are missing out on.  Your life isnt complete if you havent been here! I'm not even joking.  We have a standing every other Monday appointment here.

Actually  I can bump this to  TWO and a HALF stars if you consider the decent attitude by the waiter .  I have had better food a couple of times at another Houlihans. So maybe this was just an off day. Still I can only rate from what i ate at this location.

The burger was just dry and well done despite my preference for medium well. And it cost 11.50 for that. The server did offer a replacement, but I was already full since I ate most of the burger. So I declined it. Besides, the dryness of the burger was an issue too and not just the well done part. The fries were not as processed tasting as Chilis or Applebees fries. But they were not as good as Brickery or any other good restaurant fries.

The other person in my party had chicken parmesan.  Pricey but the quantity was good. The sauce was very bland though. Very generic tomato sauce. For 16 dollar parmesan, i expect better than cafeteria grade. Not bad, but not good either.

The prices are a level above Ruby Tuesdays. But the food doesn't taste any better and was actually worse on this particular visit.

Was in the burbs at the folks, and ended up here. I was pleasantly surprised! Good food, good service.

    Atmosphere:
Very very clean, low lighting, good acoustics. Looked like there was a one kid minimum to get in the door - but can't hold that against them as they have great schools...and yards... and grass and stuff for kids out here in the suburbs!

    Food:
Tasty and delicious. Some of the best chain food I have seen.

    Service:
Our server Amanda was great. Excellent sense of timing showing up when we needed her and not being annoying. Cleared the dirty dishes from table moment they were done.

    Booze:
This is where the place gets three stars instead of four. Bartender was a jerk. I absolutely did not feel welcome grabbing a drink at the bar after we closed out our table. It's not a bar you want to hang around at. Seeing as restaurants make the majority of their money from bar sales- that might be something for management to think about. So make sure and get a table as opposed to grabbing a seat at the bar.

Service is good and the food has never been bad.  If you looking for a TGIFridays or Chiles alternative this is a good place to go.  They have a brunch on sunday which I have never been to but based on there regular items its probably pretty good.

I rarely give a chain 5 stars...but this was such a great experience! I must say that I have been to this Houlihan's many, many times and always thought it was kinda average, hum-drum...your typical, trendy, mid-range restaurant and I probably would have rated it a 3-star. This was the first time I had been in about 8 months. But, as another reviewer commented, they have really stepped up their game...and it shows!

I got there about 30 minutes before the group I was meeting, so I sat in the bar and played on my IPad (more on that later).  Drinks were half price (well liquor) and all the expensive appetizers were $6. The bartender was very nice and very attentive, but not overly so. Drink was unbelievably strong. I decided to get an appetizer, but bypassed the $6 biggies (since I knew I would be eating dinner later) and went for the $2.50 "parmesan pomme frites." What a great deal! You get a bowl of nicely seasoned french fries (skin on), tossed in a ton of parmesan cheese.  Then you get three dipping sauces...a garlic mayo, a kinda sweet, kinda blue-cheesy dip, and a chipotle ketchup. I was in heaven...my favorite spot in San Francisco for fries serves a chipotle ketchup. Amazing...smoky and delicious! I think I would eat worms if they were dipped in chipotle ketchup!

Once my friends got there, we were seated and had a great waiter (I wish I knew his name...I like to acknowledge great service!). I ordered the lettuce wraps and they were so good. Huge, crisp, clean, DRY pieces of lettuce, a good portion of Asian spiced chicken, a gingery sauce, and crunchy noodles.  I think it was around $6 or $6.50 (it was considered an appetizer, but was really big).  It was delicious.  My friends and I had not seen each other in awhile and were being goofy, and loud, and sat around talking loooong after our food was done (every server's nightmare...but we tip well!), and they never made us feel rushed or like they were in a hurry for us to leave.

Now, the kicker.  I had taken my IPad in because I had time to kill (remember? waaaay above?). I also had wanted to show some of the other women some photos that were on my FB page.  Anyway, when I left, I set it down on the black tablecloth (and it's in a black case) to put on my coat...and left it there.  I didn't realize it for almost two hours and figured I had just thrown $800 out the window.  When I got home (frantic and a little hysterical, I admit), I called Houlihan's and the server had turned it in.  Oh my God! I couldn't believe it! I get to pick it up tomorrow and you can bet your a** that he is getting a reward!!

Been a while since I had been to a Houllihans and boy has it changed.  Not that it was bad before but now it is a.. "when can I go back there" kind of place.  Love the decor.   Love the food even more.  The descriptions seem fairly standard so when my friend ordered the chicken asian chop chop, I expected a bowl of mixed lettuce, chicken etc that is typical of those asian type salad.  Instead it was a beautiful display of yummy piles of goodness.   I ordered the steak and wedge salad, knowing what wedge salads are but wondering how they are going to put this steak on it the way most places do... already sliced or in pieces.  Instead I got a perfectly cooked petite steak on the side of a wedge with all the trimmings.  Can't wait to go back and see what other majic the spin on their twist on the predictabliness (is that a word???) of most other restuarants.   And even better.... these things are on their nooner menu meaning they are served in 15 min or free.  Too bad there isn't one in Fayette County...Newnan, Peachtree City, Fayetteville... so we could take them up on their half price wine bottles on Tuesday and Saturdays.

I think in the past few years Houlihan's has really stepped up their game. Friendly staff, funky presentations, good ingredients and a innovative and dynamic menu  set this chain above all others in EC.

My latest fascination has been with the Strawberry Basil Lemonade.  I don't even like gin, but these are delicious. The drink specials are great (1/2 priced drinks, 1/2 priced bottles of wine, $3.50 Long Island pitchers, etc.).

Not everything on the menu is extraordinary, but this is certainly no Chili's or Applebees.  Skip the Pomme Frites and go for the Tuscan White Bean salad. The burger 72 is great and will definitely require a to-go box.  Save room for a mini-dessert.

The only competition Houlihan's has in EC will be Marlow's when it opens up soon in Merchants Walk.

My gosh, I love Houlihan's and I love this location even more!

Here's my experience with this location so far:
Food is presented beautifully, it's also delicious, and the waiters/waitresses are so damn cool, they're like your crazy relatives that you love to death!

My friend also interned here for his senior project and he told me that this location is very clean, ingredients are very fresh, and the employees are the cherry bomb digs!

My second experience at this location was with a friend and I ordered an omelet which was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the tandoori chicken wrap and she said there were some greens in there that was bitter...not the restaurant's fault she couldn't take frisee, but what shocked me was that our waitress let her keep the side dishes and my friend got to order another dish for free without any hassle and hardly a complaint! Most restaurants don't do this, especially to 2 teenage girls!

I love their food and their drinks...this is one location that's always dependable!

Note: If you subscribe to their email list you'll know that almost every Wednesday they have some special happy hour deal that's absolutely fantastic, and they change in observance of holidays, sporting events, etc.

I really like this place. I always sit at the bar so I can't vouche for the restaurant area though. They have great drink specials all the time and the bartenders are cool and funny and really make it a good experience. It's definitely an upgrade from Applebee's or Chili's and the crowd is more of a couples crowd which makes it a nice place to just hang out with my girl and not worry about guy's hitting on her when I use the restroom.

It's one of those dependable places can always grab a great burger and fries, menu looks interesting but not ventured further than the burgers and salads. Price wise average. Large bar area but always seems empty.  Yeah dependable is what it is.

Went here after leaving Red Sky Tapas for having crappy service and was pleasantly surprised.  I'll be honest, for some reason I was expecting an Applebee's-like experience.  But it was better.  We sat at the bar and mostly ordered drinks - $4 Cosmos and Appletinis.  You can't beat that.  They were good and the tuna wontons I ordered were absolutely delicious, albeit a very small portion.

The crowd is definitely older and cougar-ish but that makes no difference if you're with good people.

I absolutely love this place!  Albeit that I have only been there twice (for dinner), and the two times I went I got the exact same thing... but it was soo good!  I want to say it was something like basil or rosemary chicken stuffed with some fancy type of cheese on top of a bed of risotto... mmmm.  Anyways, the staff has always been great and they have some cool drink specials.

On my birthday in June I ate here and had an unfortunate incident where I ended up almost swallowing a shard of glass that was in my water... even though I wasn't too badly hurt, the management came out immediately, apolpgized profusely, offered medical attention, and even gave us $50 to come back and dine.  Accidents happen everywhere, what can you do?

I look forward to returning here for another occasion, and this time I'll be trying something different :)

Ate here recently, the food was good but not great.   They did have some interesting Asian items on the menu that might be pretty good.

I was pleasantly surprised by my recent lunch at Houlihan's.  It has been like a decade since I have been to one, and thought it would be typical Applebee's-style food.  But no!  They have a really good looking menu now!  I had the Asian Chicken Chop Chop salad (or something silly like that) and it was great!  It came with chopsticks, which was cool, and it was really flavorful and a good portion.  It did cost $11ish, so kindof a lunch splurge, but I was satisfied.
Their menu also has lots of fun looking cocktails...I tried the Brazilian Wax....it was pretty forgettable, but good try.
So, I don't often want to go to a chain to eat, but I would probably patronize them again if I'm in the area.

Houlihan's is just fine. I wish I could give it three and a half stars. The food is good but not great, and the prices are fine but not a steal. It's a good neighborhood restaurant, a place I'm happy to meet people at, but not a place I'm often finding myself going out of the way to patronize, you know? Try the burgers and fries.
