Hula's Bar & Lei Stand

Slow service at the bar if you're a female. Plus the drinks are pretty weak. If you have a server, the service is way better. One positive is that the line for the girls bathroom is generally pretty short. They have lots of events and live music which I like to attend.

Okay, the bartenders are WONDERFUL, The food is DELICIOUS, The view of Diamond Head/Ocean is GORGEOUS....
Why 2 stars? the music is HORRIBLE!! I had friends from out of town visiting and we went for a few cocktails on a Saturday early afternoon; we were literally appauled by the weird hippy- grunge music choices. What ever happened to Britney? Mariah?Whitney" Celine? Hellloooo this is a gay bar! After 5 hours here we could no longer stand the bad taste in music and complained to the bartender who explained "it is a pre-made track"

THE D.J SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!

I just moved here from San Diego a few weeks ago, and my heart has been aching for some good tacos. My boyfriend and I were thinking of something to do one Tuesday night, so I went on some online calendar and saw that Hula's has Taco Tuesdays. As soon as we saw the words "Taco Tuesday," we jetted over there right after work without going on their website or Yelp page.

I got there first and was really surprised that I was the only woman there. Strange, I thought. I didn't put much more thought into it, and my boyfriend got there 10 minutes later. The night went on, and there still weren't too many women around.

Then it finally clicked that we were in a gay bar. LOL.

Now back to my actual review. The fish tacos were very flavorful and only $2 each, but they were pretty small. But the $4 house margaritas were huge. We had a great time and enjoyed the live music. There's free pool, too. Nice view of the ocean.
