Hungry Tiger Cafe & Restaurant

Sometimes I don't understand the overall scoring of each restaurant on Yelp.  The overall score for this place is 4 & 1/2 stars?  I thought, really?  

I can see the crazy charm of this dive, but its a 2 for me actually.  Lets start with the food:

We had the French onion which was delicious.  The burgers, fries, coleslaw and small garden house salad was perfectly fine.  The whole rack of ribs was not lets say fall off the bone.  I actually felt like I was sawing it off the bone.  Not that great.  

The service was good, the environment was quirky, but this is a huge minus and a must fix.....PLEASE UPDATE the bathroom!  I felt very grossed out at the fact at the state of the bathroom.  Seriously insane how dirty and disgusting it felt.  

I also got a very straight feel for this dive.  At the same time we felt comfortable dinning here it just didn't feel like home.  Would I return?  I don't think I would because the food was not that compelling and the state of the bathroom just sent me packing.  

What I believe carries this dive is the live music and band element.  Everything else is just not worth it at all.

Ick, this place is filthy, tiny, and unless you're a regular with a recognizable face, the bartender will ignore you completely. The women's bathroom is really weird, you have to walk through the first single bathroom to get to the single stall, so it's basically just one bathroom until some drunk chick just barges right in to stumble over to the other toilet. The bar area is small, crowded, and dirty. I've heard they have good live music, but I can't imagine where a band would find the space to set up, and I've also heard they charge a cover on those nights, and I wouldn't pay a cent for the privilege of hanging out in this pigsty. I really can't stand this place & if Yelp let me give it zero stars, I absolutely would.

Dirty!!  Glassed in dining area hasn't been renovated in over 20 years.  Mismatched furniture, hanging plants (70's decor) hanging over your heads, dirty windows and floor.  The kitchen looks dirty as does the grungy cook.  The owner does a good business with the music venue and bar, and could certainly afford to update the dining area to be more presentable.  Old pictures on the wall, ancient decor, and it needs a good cleaning.  There is no excuse for this.   I wouldn't eat there again when there are many clean restaurants to choose from with a nice updated decor.
