their pizza was really  yummy.  after driving about 400 miles from Indianapolis to Springfield, we ordered a medium pizza with onions and mushrooms.  it was crispy, tasty and not a bit oily or greesy.  they even delivered it to our hotel room.  that and a 2 litre of sprite.

love how the midwest cuts their pizza up in little squares.  :)

I grew up in St.Louis and eating Imo's. Love the thin crust  and how they make their pizzas.

Blech!  Imo's is definitely an acquired taste.  I'm really not into Provel cheese.  Kind of tastes like your mouth after you throw up.

There is only one Imo's. Hard to compare it to other pizza just like it's hard to say an apple is better than an orange.

Love it. If I moved away tomorrow, this is one of the top places I'd miss.

A word of warning, if you haven't had Provel cheese before, you're in for a shock/treat. I love pizza (or, at least I used to love pizza before I found out I was lactose intolerant), and Imo's makes a fairly typical pie. The kicker, their one ingredient that sets them aside from all the other pizzas in town, and the reason I only give it two stars, is Provel cheese. If you like it, then I imagine you'll rank Imo's higher than I did. If you don't like cheese that constantly sticks to the roof of your mouth and has a bitter after taste, then you might want to skip Imo's.

It's not their fault that I hate Provel cheese. My two stars are for the general cleanliness of their restaurants and the awesomeness of their little parlor on Pickwick and Cherry.

so I moved to NYC three years ago from Springfield, and every day I dream about Imo's. Yes, I live in the land of the legendary slice, but it doesn't matter. I may be among some of the best pizza in the world, but Imo's has my heart, with its crispy cracker crust, its gooey cheesy and sweet sauce. It's not for everyone, but geez, if they could only bring it here to New York. I'd be set for life.

Imo's is where you go to get the best pizza, hands down.

This is without a question, the best pizza place in Springfield, MO.  I like a wide variety of pizza styles and toppings, and IMO's is some of the best pizza I've ever tasted anywhere!  This stuff is unlike anything you've ever tried before.  Yes, the crust is thin and crispy, but the sauce and cheese combo is really what makes this pizza incredible.  They blend together so you can't tell where one starts and the other ends.  The special sauce/cheese combo just wouldn't work with a thicker crust, and it all comes together perfectly.  The toppings are all fresh too.

Definitely one of the most unique pizzas out there.  This place has a pretty bland atmosphere (as do most places in Springfield), so I suggest taking the pizza to go.  This stuff makes Chicago and New York styles seem boring.  It's a bit overpriced for pizza, but you've got to try it.

Perhaps it's a love it or hate it thing.  I love it.  It's a Provel cheese (a St. Louis cheese) that's on this thin-crust, St. Louis style pizza.  The fact that it's thin crust means you'd better eat it fast, because it can get cold.  But this pizza cold is WAY better than hot Pizza Hut pizza.  The tomato sauce is very light, as well as the cheese on top of it.  My wife's family and I eat Imo's just about every time they're in town. Don't judge on these reviews alone, however; you'll need to try it yourself to decide. Give it a chance.

I consider myself something of a pizza connoisseur, so whenever I find myself in a new place for a couple days, I always try to check out the local pizza.  After reading the online reviews here I was enthusiastic about eating at Imo's.  I was disappointed by the result though.  The pizza was extremely thin, which would have been ok, but the cheese was weird.  It was either cheddar or colby, I'm not sure, but whatever it was, it just tasted bad and cheap.  My girlfriend thought it was awful too.  It made the pizza taste like a children's quesadilla they'd make at Chili's.

I love Yelp, you might forget to review one of your favorite eateries if it were not for a friend reviewing it first.  Imo's Pizza is just about the best St. Louis Style pizza in the world.  The thin crust thing they have going on is fantastic, even if you don't like thin crust.  The sauce is phenomenal and the people are always fun to talk with.  I must make a suggestion now, the canadian bacon and pineapple pizza is the most overrated type of pizza in the world, but here there is nothing better.  When you have friends that work in pizza and they like to frequent this establishment you know something is right.

I love, love, love, LOVE Imo's Pizza. They make their pizza a little different than all the other pizza places. Thin crust unless you ask for thick...and the cheese is different. BUT a good different. Also...try the garlic cheese bread, its addicting. They aren't expensive and its a good little place to enjoy a beer and pizza while watching the game...or whatever.
