What a ball of confusion, this place is. Now that we have been here, we will know better as to how this place works. Grossly disorganized, this Improv location needs some serious help. I cannot speak for other locations but everything is hidden. We had no idea you could reserve seats until almost the last minute. They offer a bottle service in order to reserve your table but never tell you you can pay and run a tab. Hence everyone can get their own drinks. I highly recommend doing this. Ticket holders that reserved their seating were supposed to be let in first. This did not happen. Doors were supposed to open for seating at 9:15 PM for a 9:45 PM show. This did not happen either. Our show did not start until 10:25 PM......talk about late. they take your credit card info up front and then come back at the end of the show with a bill. The food is horrible. The show was fantastic. We came in to see John Pinette, We laughed the entire time and actually lost our breath a few times.

The Improv is good, bringing in quality national acts. Easy to find. Food is not very good quality and wish the hostess would have let us save two seats for two of our guests who were held up at another restaurant within CityPlace. Besides that, it was a good place to spend a couple hours.

After waiting outside in an enormous line it started slowly moving at around 935PM, it's now 10:09 and they're still seating people. My mistake though its never smart to do anything on a weekend. FYI you don't get to seat wherever you want. And the whole forcing people to buy drinks after paying full price for tickets is extortion. I was forced to buy 4 drinks two of which were non alcoholic for a total of 51.97 but that was not enough because I also had an unauthorized charge of over 150.00 on my credit card. I must admit the box office was very friendly and its not their fault they don't make the rules. I honestly doubt I would come back, BUT....... Jo Koy was Awesome!!!

Awesome show service was decent for a packed house. Bottle service or 65 dollar tab was worth getting the better seats!

A lot of fun! We saw D.l Hughley! It was great! Get there 30 minutes early to get a good seat. Doors open at 6 for a 7 show. They never answer the phone. Best seats are at the back sitting bar where your facing the stage. Best view. If u sit close your neck may hurt, but may be worth it. If u sit close the comedian may want to talk to you ;).
Drinks were not that great but you must order 2. Stick to soda. Chicken nachos were a 3 out of 5. Not bad. But not great. But this isn't the place for eating: more for the laughs!:)

Nice venue, but I must say the servers are definitely slow! Just know there is a 2 drink minimum.

We went to Steve Byrne. Didn't have any food, just drinks, but it was a flawless experience! The staff was super helpful and accommodating. This was my first time back since it was remodeled. Wow, what an improvement! Just a great venue. I will be back!

Nice venue for live comedy, but I guess it all depends on who you see. If you join the email list, they'll often send you offers for free/discounted tix. Like most comedy clubs there's a 2 drink minimum. Drinks are reasonable considering the area it's located. Most of the food is not worth getting since there are several better options within walking distance of the club if you can wait (or eat before attending the club).

This is a great place to see a show! Clean club, friendly staff and a good variety of comics. We are going to be regulars!
We got here early to get some dinner and we are basically sitting on stage! Thank you Heather Schommer Bisbee!

We went for Jim Jefferies two nights in a row. Great comedy and a friendly staff, ticket purchase and pick up was extremely easy and there seems to be parking everywhere. Drinks are a bit on the pricey weak side, but it is a comedy club with the usual 2 drink minimum. Get your booze out of bottles and you will not go far wrong. I will definitely be back.

Are you looking for a belly full of laughs?  Well, this is the place you want to be.  I came here last night to see Bob Saget.  We walked up to the stairs, where we waited in line.

The line led us to the hostess stand.  A lady took us to our seats, where we sat on opposite sides of a long row of tables.  The seating is much different than the Hollywood Improv.  I do like the seating at the Hollywood location a little better because you can have a personal table with your friend/date.

However, we were seated fairly close to the stage, which really made the experience much more exciting.

We ordered non-alcoholic drinks (a sin, i know!).  Our bill was over $50 for these specialty drinks.  I was a little disappointment to pay that much for no alcohol.  Although, that did include gratuity since they automatically add it in the bill.

I did notice they have a lot of vegetarian food options too.  I didn't order any food, but the option is there for the non-meat eaters.

Overall, the experience was awesome.  The show was great.  I'd definitely I want to come back for another show soon.

Obviously a good time. The staff was friendly, but the food was fair at best. I think the stand out for us were the mozzarella sticks. They were more like mozzarella empanadas. Other than that, the food was ok. Think Applebee's quality. Also, drinks were a bit pricey. Four of us and our tab was a little over $350. It's a comedy club, not a restaurant, so exactly want I expected. Will return.

Always a fun time, you will never leave disappointed. I really love their potato skins and would stick with the appetizer type food. I had pasta one time and it was bland and overcooked, plus good luck getting salt and pepper, extra dressing, etc. They are just too busy to do that kind of thing, so stick with simple food. Not to mention you have zero elbow room, so unless you are careful your neighbor may end up wearing your dinner. Not a good time!

The drinks are pretty good, a bit expensive but not south beach expensive. The Hypnocolada (sp?) is really good! I think wine and beer are a bit cheaper if you are on a budget. The comedians are always so much fun, sometimes the opening acts are even funnier than the main comedian! Don't sit in the front row if you are not willing to laugh at yourself!

I love going to the Improv. I must have seen at least a dozen comics, including Jim Breuer twice. The talent that the Improv brings are usually awesome. I experienced one evening with a lesser known comic that I actually left the building wanting my time back.

Thats another thing. If you sign up for the email updates the Improv on occassion with offer you free tickets. All you have to do is order a minimum of two drinks, which could be iced tea or long islands.

The food is pretty good. I haven't had a bad meal there. They are a bit pricey but when you already have free tickets its not so bad of an evening. I recommend the hamburger sliders. They are pretty delicious considering the place your eating at.

Overall I would say give the Improv a go. Where else can you get a decent meal and a good laugh?

OMG. I love this place. I get calls all the time for free tickets. So I always grab a few friends (actually mostly just one person because when we go with other peeps they just don't get it) and head here for some good laughs. Last night I went and they said that the headliner was "Marvin Dixon" but it was actually this other lady named "Roz G". I guess she doesn't get as much press as the other dudes but omg she blew them all out of the water. Make sure you arrive at least 30 mins before so you can get seats upclose and center. It's great when they pick you out of the crowd and crack jokes on you! Def have to be comfortable with yourself and just suck it up and laugh. A few other names I've seen previously, Russell Peters and Mike Epps. I saw a few others but they were just alright.
The food is mediocre ...like just good for snacking. And DON'T expect ANYTHING healthy. Or even the least bit healthy. The healthiest option they offer is grilled fish tacos instead of fried. Obvi there are salads but seriously who eats salad at Improv. , that's like dipping your Oreos in Orange Juice, just doesn't go!!
Overall definitely recommendable and defs sign up for their updates because a lot of great talent passes through here...

    The MOST UNPROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT EVER.

I went on Friday to see Kevin Hart and it was RAINING. I called 4 times prior to making the 60 mile drive to see if I needed to bring in my receipt because I purchased tickets online. Whoever answered the phone would just say " Improv, please hold," and automatically placed me on hold. One time I was on hold for 20 minutes and  decided to  just hung up.

We show up to the front to be seated and the hostesses informed us that will call is OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN. Firstly, NO ONE, AT ANY POINT, made an announcement about will call WHAT SO EVER. Secondly, what kind of business makes will call OUTSIDE on a RAINY NIGHT? ESPECIALLY when there are will call windows inside!! I asked if I could be seated in the meantime so we don't lose our spot and they said no.

After my boyfriend came in SOAKING WET, the hostess couldn't even attend us because she was busy waiting on some people who weren't even paying attention even though she knew I was standing on the side the whole time waiting for my boyfriend to get back.

We finally get seated, IN THE BACK OF COURSE, and they wanted to sit us with 2 other people, and we did not want this. After I complained to a manager about ALL my frustrations, all he did was apologize and brought us towels ( because my boyfriend was THAT soaked). He could not have at least offered a free appetizer or a free drink.

Improv, your establishment is the worst business ever. If you have a customer COMPLAINING due to INCOMPETENCE ON YOUR PART, you COMPENSATE.

I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK. BEWARE.

If you want to see great comedians up close in a more intimate setting than the big arenas, this is a great club. If you want a good drink or food, try anywhere else and then come for the show.  For prices that are very competitive with Rocco's and Carlos and Charlies and other bar/eateries in the immediate area, the Improv is a two star on the food and bar.

If it is a busy night, such as the night that Lewis Black was here not too long ago, when the 700+ seat house is packed, the kitchen is overwhelmed. It took over an hour from the point of ordering to get your food, which came, sadly, and distractingly, in the middle of the headliner's set.  If I can get there an hour before to eat, please serve me quality food and a decent mixed drink, particularly for what you charge, and do it within 40 minutes.  Not a lot to ask.

They should offer packs of discounted tickets for the lesser-known comics. Instead they play this game where they have you sign up for their list, and then they call you weekly to see if you'll come out for a free or discounted ticket to check out the comic.

Service varies a lot by the server.  I've had some really good service there, and some absolutely awful service. The problem is that, when the bad and the ugly get brought to management's attention, or the fact that their kitchen is hopeless on a headliner/full house night, they could care less.

You go to laugh, not to grumble though.  I would go more if they would price a group of "rising" comics so I can take a chance on them, fire the half-assed chef in the back, and build a swing-crew that they can call in extra bodies on a day that a Lewis Black or a John PInette shows up.

Otherwise, at the price of the tickets (pricey), food (really pricey for value) and bar (a laughable joke), you're looking really at $150.00 for a couple to see an unproven comic.  That's not how the Improv built its business in Hollywood, CA. and it's not how it's going to keep it here.

I have come here at least a dozen times.  My tip to you:  come for the laughs, never the food.  The food is just god awful.  Even the new revamped menu sucks.  Never in my life have I had a worse "fish taco."  Frozen fish filets which were definitely not the claimed tilapia, that were fried to a burnt oblivion.

Laughs are great here, however!  The servers are hit or miss.  Usually they're very busy and your requests go unattended to for quite some time.. they probably don't care too much as their tip is always built into your final tab.

I keep coming back because it is a fun thing to do with friends or your significant other.  I saw the likes of Lisa Lampanelli, Wayne Brady, and Ralphie May here.  All fabulous shows.  They also hold amateur nights on Tuesdays where I have watched a friend of ours preform.  Good times!

Two drink minimum for every show, no matter what.  VIP is worth it for big shows - for $7 extra per ticket you get seated first and get a drink included in the price (must redeem drink ticket at Wet Willie's outside of the Improv).

Came here to see a comedian who did hypnotizing. CRACKED ME UP!
Loved this place... nice layout where every seat is a great view.

It's a nice comedy club, but they will pack you in and you'll likely be sitting shoulder to shoulder with a stranger.  As with any other comedy club, the drinks are way overpriced ($10 and up for mixed drinks) and you'll most likely have a 2 drink minimum.  The food is merely ok. I wouldn't recommend having dinner here.  The appetizers aren't bad, but you may be disappointed.. especially when you get the check.

So you wanna have a laugh, come here.  I love the comedians I have seen here.  It's great for a date, girl's night out, or a group of people.  They upgraded the inside and it looks a whole lot better than the way it was before.  There's more room and the staff actually tries to seat you up close if there are any available seats.  It can get a little pricey to around 20 bucks a ticket.  Maybe more if it's a popular comedian.  Sign up for the email club and you'll be on a call list.  They randomly give out free tickets over the phone if you pick it up or call within a certain amount of time.  I don't particularly like the two drink minimum rule they have here.  If you are going to pay to get in, why enforce such a rule on it?  Plus, plan on spending around 10 bucks for each drink you consume.  Be careful because the drinks are very delish!  It's a possibility you may end up breaking your bank account if you don't stop.

I should have wrote this review 2 years ago. Not sure if they improved or that night was just a bad night for service!

A friend and I decided to make a trip to the Improv in Palm Beach. Never been to the comedy club and it was a new experience. Also Mike Epps (at the time I didn't know who he was. Seriously!).

We got there pretty late so naturally it was packed!!!! Our seating area was pretty cramped! I sat at the end of the table where I had keep turning my head. Thus a couple of times my knee kept hitting this woman's butt who was sitting next to me if she was turned toward the stage!

As for the service, lousy! We ordered our drinks and food. I think 30 minutes later or more the food came! And the drink I believe came a little while longer.

Now I'm thinking to myself shouldn't you bring the drinks out first then the food?

The food wasn't all that either!

But I have to say it was great seeing Mike Epps in person!

I don't go here as often as I would like But when I do, I have a GREAT time! Staff is great (Diego is our favorite!)-very sweet and attentive.  Went there for a comedy derby a few months ago and my face hurt the next day from laughing so much! Nice job on the renovations too...years ago when i went it was not as good a set up (things were in the way of seeing the stage clearly) and a little dingy.

The comedy club itself is a decent space.   Pretty big and it looks like they have a nice sound system as well as video screens.    We didn't try the food so I can't comment on that.     What bothered me though is my wife ordered the house merlot for her 2 drinks and I ordered a premium wine and they charged us $12 for each merlot.       When I told the waitress my wife ordered the house merlot she said no she ordered the premium wine which was a complete lie.       She then agreed to adjust our bill and then she never did.    When I finally found her again they refused to do it and two of the waitresses gave us dirty looks and made some comments.
It's not a big deal and the difference in price was only $8. but I also don't like being scammed by a venue.    I understand the club has to make money but at least do so in an honest way.

Have been to this location twice and both times have been a pretty good experience.

Wednesday nights they have like 2 comedians that are most of the time funny! Free admission before 7 on Wednesdays but as always there is a 2 drink minimum, so your night without food averages out to about $20 and about $ 30 with food.

The last time, September 2010 was for my birthday :) and I had a really good time!! The DJ played good music, the waiter was a little short with our party of 14, but I know how hard it can be to handle so many varied requests soooo I let it slide.

Pretty standard to any of the South Florida Improv Comedy Clubs...

This one is in a great location, City Place so there is more to do before and after a night of laughs!
