It's like playing a funeral home. Carpeting? In a live music situation? What!? Most of the staff were like policemen and so enjoying their tiny bit of power. It's a nightmare for any band to play here,...well, not if they have a road crew. You'll have to suck it up and play their game, park in their lot,...but then again, maybe you'll enjoy a private chat with the ATM,...as it has it's own glass door and it's own damn room.

We saw Michael McDermott here last night and liked the venue a lot. Easy to park (be sure to get validation to drop parking fee from $18 to $5), acoustics were good, comfortable table seating in the "VIP" section ($20 ticket vs. $12 general admission). Beers were $6. Better selection in the bar next to this room. One gripe: women's restroom ran out of TP.

First Off, this is an adult venue!!! And that's OK.  Atmosphere is that of a small night club.  Maybe 200-250 people will fill this room to capacity.  Waitresses can fetch drinks, and there are a couple of walk-up bars in the room.  I have been there 3 time, and each show has been awesome (OK the bands were awesome), but the room is also awesome.  You can't find a more intimate setting in which to see a performance.  Even if you have your back against the wall in the furthest corner, you are only 35-40 feet from the stage.  The "Ice Bar" outside the room has some seriously uniquely different cocktails, some served in "Ice" glasses (they sit in a holder that looks like a martini glass, but what you are drinking out of is a cone of ice).  Sections are reserved (only 2 sections), so get in line early to get a table right by the stage.  Make sure to get your parking ticket validated.

I just saw Local H here last night, and all i can say is: Wow, what a shitty place to see a rock show.   The acoustics are horrible and i don't think those that were working sound knew what they were doing. It took 20 minutes of monitors not working, mics not plugged in, feedback, more feedback, more feedback, mics not working again before it sounded OK and Local H could play.  When i say "ok", I just mean "ok", there's no way anyone could call it good.   vocals were too quiet and, mid range was muddy.  I'm no sound snob at shows, but when all the reviews on yelp talk about "killer acoustics" and their own website touts "state-o-the-art acoustic design", I expected far more. I also had my doubts, since after all - it is inside a hotel in Rosemont.

Drinks inside the actual Montrose Room are limited (only 3 beers and a few cocktals, if i'm remembering correctly), but there's "The Ice Bar" just outside the doors of the room (still in the hotel) that has some decent bottled beers and a few tap beers available for a fair price.

...also, the floor is carpeted, which is nicer on the feet than concrete or wood, but weird.   It reminds me of a room where people would sit and listen to a motivational speaker, or possibly watch a comedian more than a place where they go and stand for a concert.

The hotel itself is quite nic, the lobby has some neat artwork, and the staff was very friendly and as well trained as i would expect the staff at a nicer IC hotel to be. If i need to stay near O'Hare for any reason, or need to recommend a hotel in the "Priority Club family of hotels" - it'll surely be on the top of my list. It's just not a place I'll ever go to see a rock show again.

I saw Local h here last night, and this was a really great venue for it!

It was kinda weird that this place is actually inside the hotel, but it works!

The space was open so everyone had a great view of the stage.  The acoustics were good.  It was a really great space for a small show!

With a validated ticket parking was only $5.  Inside the venue they set up a mini bar and had a couple of cocktails and a few bars available for $5 each.  Overall I thought everything was reasonably priced.

I would definitely come to another show here!

I didn't notice a coat check, so we went back to the car to leave our coats which was easy.

What a great venue!  We're fans of "PICANTE,"  the greatest Latin Jazz group this side of the Mississippi:)  Saw them at the Montrose Room tonight and they rocked the house!  Everyone should try to see this group wherever they're playing and let's hope this venue brings them back real soon.

This place impressed the hell out of me! Being a small venue inside a hotel in the suburbs, I really wasn't expecting much. However the atmosphere and acoustics were outstanding.

This is a VERY small venue but it did not feel at all like a concert venue. It had more of a lounge type feel to it. The reserved seating area right around the stage was very comfortable and our server was very attentive. The acoustics were outstanding probably some of the best I have experienced in such a small location. My return here will be inevitable. I will go out of my way to see who is playing here in the future.

A bonafide live music venue outside the city limits? Believe it!

I have the feeling the luxe Montrose Room won't be a well-kept suburban secret for much longer. Housed in the seriously chic InterContinental hotel, this intimate music venue boasts ringside cabaret seating and killer acoustics. It's obvious they poured a large investment in making sure the sound is top-notch!

Right outside the doors leading into the Montrose Room is the Ice Bar. The specialty cocktails are made with some of my favorite things: St-Germain, champagne floats, passion fruit juice, and lychee vodka among other sexy ingredients. For the man in your life? Some stellar whisky, bourbon and cognac selections.

Tip: Don't forget to have your parking validated by a bartender on the way out and you'll only pay $5. And, be sure to take a stroll around the hotel - the art collection is FAB.
