Good standard breakfast fare.
I've come here 3 or 4 times in the last couple months usually Saturday or Sunday mornings between 8-10am, and it's pretty busy. Some weekends you may have to wait 10-15 minutes for a table, while other times you might get lucky---lesson=even at 8am this place gets full (mostly older or scraggly-type people).
Prices are a little high for being a run-of-the-mill chain, but I haven't had any bad food from them.
Hashbrowns are delicious, but there is something just a little off (not sure if they should be spread out more when cooked, or cooked a little longer, or just flipped more often. Like I said, they're good, but something's missing).
Pancakes are always good. I particularly like the NY Cheesecake pancakes, they're worth every calorie (which is quite a few).
Their eggs and omelets have always come out as ordered and as expected---good. Nothing amazing, but that's not why I go here.
Waitresses do vary greatly in quality here (would write waitstaff, but they're always women, the only guys I see work here are a few hispanic guys that buss tables). General rule of thumb: be nice, don't linger too long, and do try to take some personal interest in them so they'll try to be nice and/or don't hate you.
Pros:
+Good food
+decent service
+fairly good turn-around between the time of ordering and the time when the food is ready
Cons:
-A little expensive for what it is.
-Waitresses can be pushy (are encouraged to sell extras)
-nothing extraordinary (is it worth more than a 10-15 minute wait? Not really...)
Such a horrible experience at this iHOP! Waitress was rude and waffles were frozen in the middle! I asked for some fresh ones, instead they put my original waffles in the microwave and brought them back to me. The waitress could care less and kept making smart comments! I will never come back to this location! Â Shari's is 100% better and is 24/7 as well!
Review Source:After a relaxing evening with friends at Cougar Hot Springs, the lot of us decided that we were hungry and the powdered doughnuts we had been snacking on while steaming ourselves had not been sufficient.
The four of us arrived at about 11:30pm on Monday night. Â Gauging from the near empty parking lot, we knew seating would be plentiful. Â Unfortunately, the management of this particular IHOP must have decided that it was too slow to have both a hostess and a waitress on weeknights, The poor soul of a girl who was running around doing double duty all night looked haggard.
Most of us ordered breakfast foods, and it was pretty standard. Â Hard to screw up on pancakes and French toast. Â I did order an omelet which was tasty, but the unexpected addition of Holandaise sauce smothering the top of it was not exactly what I would have ordered. Â I do believe this comes from me not thoroughly reading the menu before placing the order.
The service was a little slow, but this is because of the one staff working, so it was mostly forgiven. Â Having a carafe of coffee at table side eliminated the need for swift refills, speaking for myself at any rate. Â The guys who ordered soda were screwed.
I'd go back (after hours, when nothing else is open) as it is open 24/7 and has decent quality breakfast foods.
I love some good breakfast. Â When my parents come down to visit, my father takes us out to eat in the mornings. Â Usually its Denny's for the meal. Â I hate dennys.....greasy nasty grub. Â So when we stopped at IHOP the other day, it was a pleasant surprise. Â It's not the fanciest Eugene has to offer, but for a quick cheap brreakfast IHOP was pretty decent. Â Meals are reasonably priced, service was quick and friendly. Â Only thing that was annoying was it took about 3 plates per person to have all the food delivered. Â Leaving our table SUPER crowded with a mess of plates. Â Either larger plates or a bit larger tables would help. Â But its A-ok AM food
