Islands Restaurant

I used to go to Islands on Pico in West L.A. all the time as a kid.  The salad and burger is pretty good at this location.

Went for dessert here with some friends, we found a piece of cardboard in our brownie sundae. Cardboard. How did we find it? My friend was chewing on it. We notified out waitress and she didn't really seem to care. She didn't even comp it or give us a discount on our cardboard sundae.
Decided to give this place one more shot. Went here on a Tuesday afternoon, not very busy. Our server seemed great at first, but after taking our order, he seemed to be avoiding us even after receiving our appetizers. I asked for extra dressing, never got it. We had to flag someone down for refills on our water. My boyfriend asked for thousand island dressing on the side and nearly took him 10 minutes to receive it. I would've understood if the place was busy but it wasn't so I don't understand why everything was taking so long. Wasn't even worth asking for a refill on our fries. I work at a restaurant myself so I'm pretty lenient on some things, but this was just disappointing.

Liked the pineapple ring on the Hawaiian burger (substituted a veggie patty).  It made it  ever so juicy and tangy.  

My fries were lukewarm.  I informed our server and they delivered not 1, but 2 new orders of them.  

Next time I want, no I need to order their China salad instead.  

Date got the real meat patty Hawaiian burger which he enjoyed.  He ended up wrapping a napkin around it to lessen the mess.  

Our shared dessert was the lava cake, which had 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whip cream and chocolate cake.  Sinful, decadent and oh so good and bad.  

How long will it take to bicycle all those calories off?
