I REALLY wish I could have given this restaurant 4 or 5 stars seeing as they allow smoking (including cigar and pipe) at their tables (in a designated area) and were some of the most friendly and welcoming staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant; unfortunately, the quality of the steak forces my hand to award nothing greater than 3 stars.
Upon arriving, Martinez [not too sure on the name] - the hostess -was incredibly nice and discussed with the manager, Brian, about fitting me into the smoking section so I could smoke my cigar while enjoying dinner. Â Seeing as they were out of tables, they brought one in just to accommodate my request. Â This was the first sign that Binion's really knows customer service, especially since I was dining alone and was not gambling (I came exclusively for smoking and eating).
The waitress, Erin, was exemplary with a great deal of help and knowing exactly when to stop by to check-in without being overbearing. Â Yet again Brian came to the rescue by providing me with the last remains of a delicious 15 year-old Macallan scotch (please note that their Scotch Selection was EXTREMELY limited and, quite frankly, disappointing for a steak house).
Now, to the main portion: the steak, which was cooked medium, was of similar quality to something purchased at a grocery store and NOT what I would expect for $32. Â Good creamed spinach and good caesar salad but the steak was just so disappointing that I continue to waver as to whether or not to return. Â Most likely I will just to smoke while eating, but if they could offer higher quality meats I would make it my #1 in a heartbeat!
Went last Sunday after a profitable trip in the casino :-) Â Had the 32oz Porterhouse along with a baked potato and button mushrooms. Â The sides were really good and big enough to share with someone else. Â The steak for $60 was a little overpriced for what you got but was still tasty. Â Service was excellent and I'm sure the view would have been nice had it not been a cloudy day/night. Â Being able to use Total Rewards credits at "one for one" is a big plus, looking forward to going back.
