I can't believe I havn't thought to write a review for Jan's yet! Â I have been eating at Jan's for years, as I used to live in Sheridan when and where it was founded. Â I would literally eat Jan's twice a week. Â Although I am the kind of guy that likes a pizza loaded with meats and vegetables, my favorite pizza from Jan's is a cheese with extra cheese and extra sauce. Â If you ask for something extra, they will give it to you. Â Their sauce is a perfect blend of sweet and a little bit of spice. Â Another thing that I really enjoy is the fact that they sell Bosco breadsticks. Â Growing up in school, Bosco sticks were served at lunch, and were always a favorite among the children. Â It's just reminds me of good times, and they're delicious! Â
The only bad thing I'd have to say about Jan's is that it is overpriced, and there is no debating it. Â I know they make everything fresh, still overpriced. Â Especially considering their mostly teenage staff that are more than likely working for minimum wage, and the owners actually working on location. Â With that said, I will still gladly pay for it from time to time, because the pizza is delicious!
So we figured we would give this down home town place a try. They said 45min-1hr for delivery...it turned out being 1:15 and I love less then a mile from the place. Most places charge $1.50 delivery charge. This place charges $2.75. Â To top it off when the driver got here he essentially asked for a $6 tip! Â Really??? Â The pizza was hot so that was a good thing but the only difference I could tell was they used better cheese than most. The breadsticks were not fully cooked either. Lastly the price was pretty much off the charts. After tax, delivery charge but before tip it was $25 for a 14" pizza, 6 breadsticks and a 2 liter. Just not impressed. Sorry.
Review Source:Charming!
First of all - let me just say that anyone who compares "quality" pizza to Pizza Hut - is really off their rocker!
Jan's is both friendly and quaint. Right in the heart of downtown Westfield. The pizza is homemade and fresh, and their buffet looks amazing all the time.
I have never left Jan's feeling hungry or disappointed in anything I've been served. My favorite, by the way is the BBQ sandwich with potato wedges on the side.
Yea, its a little more than your Dominoes $5 pizza. But you are supporting a local restaurant owner who serves good quality food at reasonable prices. And most importantly, they are really great people!
Don't miss out on this local gem! Try Jan's Village Pizza today!
Wandered in here on the worst day of weather this year. Â Just got hit by an ice storm and literally skated in after dropping off my car at Mufflers and More. Â They are only open for lunch from 11-2 and then I think closed til 5 when they open back up for dinner.
Had their lunch buffet. Â Pizza here is EXCELLENT and nice selection. Â People were nice and did not bother me while I was on my computer attending a web conference. Â No wi-fi however but that's OK I had my broadband card.
Price was a little higher than some other places, less than most, but great value for the money.
This is more then just a pizza joint! They have a good lunch and lite dinner menu along with so pretty good pizza. The food is fresh and made when you order. The room/rooms are on the small side but you don't fell crowed at all. The building is part of the old town of Westfield and has loads of charm inside and out.
Remember to eat well and live well! And please no chains!
