Jensen's Cafe

I'm surprised by the love this place gets.  We've only been here for dinner and it was just a Perkins.  Fish was dry and lacked flavor, soups were salty, service was pretty slow.

I understand that people like it for the breakfasts, have not tried that yet.  But for dinner Jensen's Cafe just isn't worth the trip.  And I really wanted to like this place based on their super club.

This was the second time coming here and I was impressed the first time.  I'm so-so this time.  Yes, I have the same gripe about the lack of gluten free bread (toast).  Seriously, a couple of loaves of frozen GF bread in the freezer for future toast and a disclaimer that they aren't truly gluten free is all it would take.  Not much to ask. Actually, I don't think the server knew what gluten free meant.  
Food wise, my Chipotle Benedict was awesome!  maybe slightly undercooked but tasty just the same.  My wife had the eggs and bacon with potatoes. The server claimed she gave more potatoes to sub the toast, but it seemed obviously not so. Per my wife, "It's hard to screw up eggs and bacon" so I won't rate that.
Service wise, our server was very good at filling our coffee and seemed friendly.  She could have been a bit faster at clearing our dishes and bringing our bill.  The place was kind of busy, but she seemed to have vanished for a while and others were helping her other table(s); just not ours.  So I give it a 3 because it was okay and the food tasted good.

The stuffed French toast with house made butter maple syrup was phenomenal!
