We go here occasionally, but have been slightly disappointed last 2 times. 2 times ago, I ordered Root Beer, Salad, Burger, and cake. They were out of cake and salad, supposedly don't have rootbeer, and miserably overcooked the burger. We tried again in a week. They still did not have cake. 5/5 things I requested, they messed up. That's 100% disappointment defined. The server was nice, though.
Review Source:Good restaurant, good food, its quiet and they don't really worry about how you dress. Â Can't really complain. Â Nothing about the place really stands out except they really do treat you like friends. Â As a matter of fact they greet you with a calming "welcome friends" greeting.
I've brought a few people here: Â family and also a friend-date (a frate?) and I've also been for a quick burger, beer and to watch part of the game. Â To me, all of those qualities add up to a four star. Â I'll go back.
So I've been back a couple of times since my last review since it is so close to my house and I have to say that I am coming around a bit.
They have new menus that simply look better, and I have to admit that the burgers are good. I also like that they occasionally have live music and they have decent beers on tap.
I still wish they didn't try to specialize in four different cuisines (American, Italian, Greek, and Mexican). They should just choose one or two run with it, but that said, I like this place well enough and I'll probably go back.
I keep going back and forth between 4 and 5 stars but the only reason I'd give them 4 is because, though the remodel was very successful in a lot of ways, they neglected to put the lights in the dining area on a dimmer. This results in feeling like you're eating in an over-decorated cafeteria instead of a cozy restaurant. DIM THE LIGHTS, PEOPLE!
Now, onto the food. We've lived in the area for a couple years now and just recently ventured in for dinner. I ordered the Greek Burger, my boyfriend had a gyro. Since the Greek Burger has gyro meat on it, I didn't try his, but my burger is my new favorite burger in the world. Oh, man, is it delicious! We also had flaming cheese, which I won't get again but couldn't resist once.
Now we go almost once every week. I try something new each time. The lemon chicken soup is tied with the best I've ever had and I can't wait for winter just so I can eat it all the time. The chicken in the chicken alfredo is amazing. Fish tacos? Healthy and super tasty, especially with the spicy sauce they serve on the side. The burrito is huge and, though not as healthy, just as delicious. We're heading over tonight again and I'm looking forward to trying yet another new dish.
We've always had great service as well. Some of the servers may be a bit rough around the edges, but they are very friendly and helpful. There's a young gentleman server that we love- he makes great suggestions about food and beer...he even gave us a free pint glass last time we were there.
They apparently have a newer chef and whatever changes they've made, they are on the right track now. We love it. Go there. You won't regret it.
Oh yeah! Their pizzas are a perfect, delicious carry-out item and we usually order dessert to go.
I must admit, I really can't tell if there is any difference between Jersey Street Bar & Grill and any of the previous tenants that have passed through this location. Â It is the same stuff - Mexi-Greek-Italian Burger Joint. Â The food is pretty uninspired and uninspiring. Â So why do I give this place three stars? Â Great selection of beer and generous happy hours - the kind of stuff that makes this venue a nice after work watering hole.
Review Source:YES! I'd eat here again. Good burgers & gyros sandwich. Nice neighborhood place.
Good service. Solid food. I'd like to try the Fish Tacos & French Onion Soup.
Michelle F. says they have "authentic Greek Salad" - not sure exactly what that means but heck, I'd like to try the Greek Salad with Chicken next time. I want to remember my time on the Greek Isles.
We LOVED this place! We've just moved back to Denver, and after a day of remodeling, Jersey St was perfect. Friendly staff, great neighborhood atmosphere, totally decent food with good selection. I got the Greek Salad w/grilled chicken--light & authentic. My hubby said his Greek burger was "brilliant." The all-weekend HH is out of control awesome. We'll be back.
Review Source:My husband and I used to go there when the place was Angies, great margarita's  and great food.  We stopped going after Angies was replaced by various other restaurants and none of them were any good. Â
We decided why not give Jersey Street Bar & Grill a try after staying away for quite some time and being long time Park Hill residents we wanted a place to eat close to home and support local businesses. We were in for a BIG surprise. The food was fabulous, the prices were great and the menu has a variety of choices all which are wonderful.
We have been back since, actually several times. You have to try the homemade bread it is awesome! The Greek Lemon soup is to die for. Watch out for the flaming cheese appetizer, it almost burnt the eyebrows off the waiter and had everyone on that side of the restaurant gasp very loud watching the big flames from the cheese. I sure won't be ordering that appetizer, but we got quite a chuckle out of the reaction of everyone. Other than that, I recommend you give Jersey Street Bar & Grill a try. You will love it! I have seen all ages at Jersey Street and everyone looks to be having a great time.
You're missing out if you don't go! The food is better than okay and the atmosphere is very nice. Â Love the calzone's, pizza and the chicken kabobs. Â
The wine is outstanding and served in large wine glasses that allow you to sip on one throughout your meal for a great price.
They have different specials all the time. Don't miss out. Give it a try! Â No relation to the owners just excited about the great experience.
So all I wanted was a simple meal to go...place an order...pop in, pick up and head home. Â But wait...no menu online (hello...this is the year 2010 isn't it? Â I know people who have web sites for their dogs!!!). Ok...2nd thought - fax me a menu? Â Please? Â Nope...the menu won't fit into the fax machine. Â In the last few years I think there have been 4 or 5 people who have tried making a go of a restaurant in this location. Â I hope they can figure things out...but spending thousands and thousands to remodel and forgetting to build a website seems a little short sighted to me. Â I guess I'll order from your neighbor sweet rice cafe, again. Â I wish I could have rated this place on their food...but for now all I can do is rate them on my first impression.
Review Source:9th Ave Grill has gone the way of Angies, Papa D's, Carmine's Cucina, La Bola and the Jersey Street Bar and Grill has opened. Not only have they opened, they have completely remodeled including bathrooms and carpet (Ms. Jessica H). Fresh paint, nice colors, and nice decorations make the location seem happier.
The menu offers a little of everything from this location's past: Mexican, Italian, Greek, Bar pub, and Amerrican dishes. I had a Gyros with fries and the Husband had a calzone; both were good and the Baklava desert good as well.
Jersey St. has a nice price point and is the type of place I can see us becoming regulars. The bar is very nice and I see Stello Artois on tap, next time we will have a cocktail.
So fellow Park Hill Yelpers, I know we all want a place to call home. A place we can eat a good meal for a fair price, a place we can get a good drink, and a place that feels fresh and happy; I think we might have it. Give them a try and tell me what you think.
