We were actually aiming to go the pub next door, but it was too dressy for our biking attire. Â Blaring classic rock and blazing in neon, JJ Bonerz sat conspicuously next door. Â I was not initially convinced. Â The music was obnoxious, the atmosphere loud and there only guys standing/sitting around, drinking and slapping each other on the back. Â It felt like I'd just interrupted guys' night.
The bar tender greeted us in her southern accent and immediately welcomed us in. Â This eased my discomfort a bit. Â The whisky sour I ordered also helped. Â We ordered food (a burger and fries) which was pretty good and our server was also very hospitable. Â
Slowly but surely, I warmed to the place and those things I initially thought were annoying began to grow on me. Â There was a sense of familiarity with the guests here, both with each other and with the place, that gave the me the feeling they were regulars. Â The greeted each other, bought beers, caught up on life. Â And though I was not in their conversation, I felt welcomed and accepted just on the principle that I was there. Â
Some may call that "Southern hospitality", but I like to think JJ's had something to do with it, too.

Obviously this establishment has a resonating name, worthy of further exploration. After initial discovery, my companions and I entered this bar.
We were greeted by a table with a window street view and a menu. Eventually a server graced us and ask for our drinks, and gave me a water without my requested lemon. Its Savannah, no local would ever drink tap, especially without a lemon because it tastes like sulfur.  About a year later she saw me at the bar asking for shots and was quick to lay claim to this drink order, and finally brought us our drinks, including a changed Jäger shot to a Jäger Bomb, nice watery assumption. The Philly Cheese Steak arrived after much mileage on a non toasted Kroger hoagie roll.  To top it off, a woman at the bar hollers "you're so little, you're like a piece of cheese!" and that actually did make everything better.
Happy venturing, it's a ride.
P.S. You want a generic chicken sandwich and soggy fries for $10? You're better off going to Chik-Fil-A and getting 3 orders for the same price and quadruple the quality. Come here to drink, not to eat.
Ordered delivery from here while staying at the Comfort Suites. Got a large cheese pizza, BBQ pork sandwich, and some chicken tenders with fries for my daughter. Since it was over $25 we used a coupon from the front desk for free breadsticks.
Pizza was good, pretty standard delivery pie. BBQ pork sandwich was pretty delicious, the homemade chips they came with were also good. The tenders and fries (and some of the chips) were a bit soggy, but that was expected from delivery in a styrofoam container. Not a big deal. Breadsticks were pretty good. All together, a safe and tasty experience.
It's great that you have beer and liquor and food... But you might draw a bigger crowd if you would lower the music to the pool area and turn up tv's for big games.. Such as Sunday Night Football. Also, maybe not putting it on the TV furthest from the people who requested it when the one directly in front of them is not being watched at all.. I mean seriously, who sits in a bar and watches 60 minutes without sound or closed captioned?! NOBODY!! Â Just saying.
Review Source:Been here a few times now. Peanuts on the floor/tiki/jukebox/chill any type of croud atmosphere. The place is chill and the drinks are good. They have some good beers on tap and they're fast about changing a keg when it gets low. The pizza is really good too. Not too much cheese and the toppings are plentiful.
This place is good for when everything else is closing and you want food and a fun atmosphere. Â Especially if you like when all the tables and people in the bar start singing Whitney Houston to the juke, as if it were a flash mob. WE MISS YOU WHITNEY!!
I was so impressed to find a Green Bay Packers bar in the South! The whole staff was  nice and fell in love with the Tiki Bar down-below! The service was spectacular and the bartenders seemed eager to have a great time with the patrons! JJ Bonerz is so great, we went back later that night.
Review Source:After a  night out in savannah my friends and I returned to our hotel room craving some pizza.  Not being from the area we ask the front desk for advice and are told bonerz is the only place delivering.  We order up two medium pies and are told about an hour.  A little over an hour our anticipation is over as the delivery man has arrived!  Before the boxes are even open the disappointment is eminent.  They are tiny and we definitely know how to take down some pizza.  We open our small little boxes and cannot believe what we see.  The first is about 7 inches and has barely any cheese, the second is about 8 inches maybe and barely cooked.  They resembled very bad very small frozen pizzas, which I'm assuming they were.  Worst pizza delivery ever.  Please view my photo of my friend with a slice of this pizza to see how extremely disappointing this pizza is!
Review Source:I went the weekend before St. Patty's Day earlier this year (March 2011). This place is great. The bartenders were women and they'll look out for a single gal if she doesn't want to be too bothered. It's a fun place, the food is good, the games are on all the tvs, and there's a sandy-floored Tiki Bar downstairs. The frozen raspberry margaritas are so good that you'll have about 2 sips left in your fourth before the first one even hits you, so be careful with those! Don't let the name throw you if you think it's a "meat-market" bar.
Review Source:The only reason i did not make this a five star was because it takes FOREVER to get a hold of them. Literally, we tried calling twice before we actually got an answer. My family and I were staying in Savannah for the night and we were unable to go out to dinner due to some storms that were passing by. Our hotel had JJ's menu and we decided to eat from there. Delivery was free and it took about an hour but we had a large order so an hour was reasonable. Now the food. Just thinking of it my mouth waters!!! Â It was phenomenal! Fall of the bone ribs, delicious magarita pizza and amazing philly cheese steak sandwich. It did not feel like delivery. My father wanted to go back to Savannah just to eat there again. Thats how good it was!

Â Service is fantastic and they have shelled peanuts you can throw on the floor! Â Great for bar-hopping or pre-dinner cocktails!
