Drive in from NY to visit some family in GA. Never been to Savannah before but I definitely saw what everyone meant about tourists. (Even though I was one also) Came to O'Connells on the advice of a friend who's a Savannah regular. Great smal place to escape the crowds of tourists. Felt like I was back home in my favorite Irish pub in NY. Laid back, good whiskey (I recommend the Red Breast), and good tunes from the juke or the bartenders computer with Pandora. If you're looking for flashy, touristy, etc. go somewhere else. Just a heads up, no food.

This is a great gem.
Solid, well-earned, 5 stars in a district FULL of neat little bars.
A bunch of soccer mom teachers from rural OH showed up and filled the place adding an entertaining vibe ...
Didn't see any skinheads nor hooligans in 3 trips on consecutive week-nights.
Must see.
