A great place off Broughton and something different to most Savannah Bars. The people are a little older and more mature, the music is great, and everybody in the crowd is always fun to talk to. The atmoshere is great as it has an Asian/Ethnic vibe. You can have a blast by grabbing some seats if you are there early enough to get them and just hang out with your group, or by dancing. The music/DJ's here are always very good. This is more of an upscale scene so dressing nice is a must. With all upscale spots, be ready to spend some money for drinks while here. It is not the cheapest by all means, but for the different vibe and atmosphere it is well worth a visit here and there. I find myself in Saya once or twice a month.
Review Source:I had my reservations about going to this spot. It appeared to be a tad too uppity for my taste. I dig mellow joints but not to the point of pretension.
Luckily, Saya made a liar out of my assumptions. The layout is beautiful, spacious and calm. My friends and I checked it out on a Tuesday night and maybe ten other patrons came through. The bartender was a cool cat and the music was just what I was looking for - a smooth mix of soul, Hip Hop and Reggae.
I'm not in Savannah often, but when I return I'd like to check out Saya on a busier night. Seems like Savannah shuts down on weeknights, save for the drunken tourists walking about.
