I took my fiancée there on our elopement weekend in Savannah.  I lived in Savannah 20 years ago and went go Pinkie's on occasion.  It is something you simply must experience if you want to understand the historic district.  The bar is REALLY small and dark (and most likely a little dirty), but if you sit at the bar, you will meet the friendliest and most outgoing people ever who will regale you with stories of Savannah.  The bartender was quite attentive, and the booze was CHEAP.  Plus, they allow dogs inside, as in, sitting at the bar in bar chairs!  And Pinkie's is a Savannah legend, so if nothing else, go there for one drink and the memory.  We'll be back!  :)
Review Source:Oh Pinkie's, where do I even begin... amazing people watching, dog friendly, a juke box, and kitchy bric a brac on the walls. Everytime we visit Savannah, Pinkie's is a mandatory stop. This past weekend was the first time we were able to bring our sweet puppy and she had an amazing time and loved the attention she got from other patrons. Pinkie's is a great place to start off and end an evening of fun in Savannah's historic district. Rumor has it that Pinkie's is where Jimmy Carter announced he was running for president, I doubt many other dive bars can claim to be the start of a presidential campaign.
Pinkie's doesn't serve food, so if you're hungry, eat first!
I ended up here after a recent wedding in Savannah, and I'm pleased to say it hasn't changed in the eleven years I had been away. Well, it almost hasn't changed: fortunately, there's no more smoking inside, thank goodness, but that's the only nod to progress Pinkie Master's has been forced to make.
They still mix the strongest cocktail in town, still only take cash, and random wandering drunk weirdos still provide the unofficial entertainment for your evening. The clientele is still the aforementioned drunk weirdos, Scad students, politicians, local folk, maybe some drag queens, and a spattering of other demographics. There's always an interesting night to be had.
