Joe's Original

My visits to Joe's have been a little underwhelming so 3-star rating pushes the envelope.  The benefit-of-the-doubt rating is because; (a) I've only been there for lunch and; (b) I'll wager the atmosphere Thursday - Saturday at night is likely good.  But back to lunches.  There's never a wait at Joe's; the place is large enough to never be "packed".  For those "guys" who need talent as servers and bartenders Joe's delivers usually.  As of 06/25 you've got Monica and Chelsea who are 9s going on 10s.  But I've digressed.....  my lunches have been the super nachos (poor), quesadilla (okay), as well as the chicken "wing-style" wrap with onion rings.  The wrap was actually in the 7 - 8 our of 10 range.  Pretty darn good eatin'.  And the rings were large, hotter in tabasco in July when served and a great add-on to a meal.  There are boat loads of TVs around the place and some video stuff.  KENO can also be played (suckers!!!).  I'll bet Joe's Original is a 4-star place for the 35-and-under crowd at night and on Buckeye weekends so don't just go by this old codger's verbage if you're going to do more than chowdown.

Have you been to Brother's? Or Gaswerks? Or the vast majority of the Arena District? That's what this place is like. It's full of the people who used to go to the Arena District (aka 'le douches') and moved to the suburbs, and are smart enough to not drive (far) drunk, and they aren't playing sand volleyball at Flannagan's.

The food - not bad. The service? Fucking atrocious. One Monday, we sat around, waiting to get served, and it was like we were the lost prophets that appeared before them when someone mentioned it to the waitress that we would love to get food and no one ever served us.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT ORDERING A BEER. Evidently, I have a reputation, because I go to the near empty bar, and I see a bartender by the taps, cleaning a glass. So I move over to her side so I can order - and she moves to the opposite side of the bar, while I'm attempting to get her attention. This has happened on two separate times, same bartender, same horrible, horrible service.

Was looking for a bite to eat for lunch.  Food is okay.  Appetizers are half off on Saturdays until 8 p.m. if you are into those - makes them REALLY cheap.  Service was friendly, just felt a bit slow.  They were not all that busy.
