Im sitting here now and its extremely bright and ridicously loud. The bartender an her boyfriend are so dn loud its unbelievable. The decore is horrible. Full of bud signs and a yager machine and american football and basketball on every tv save one. The foods expensive so im not even gunna order. The bright lights, screaming new yorkers and miss muffin top tapping her nails on the computer screen are just to much. Im going some where else amd i recommend everyone else dose also
Review Source:Stopped in during a road trip a few months back, no real reason to visit West Palm Beach other than: - needed a late lunch, Yelp said it was good and it was very easy to park.
Having spent a great deal of time in England, when I'm in this kind of place I generally avoid the menu items which are based on Floridian interpretations of British staples such as fish n' chips, pie etc. So I can't say how authentic those were. Â
Ordered a burger, which was OK. I mean it was better than the average burger in the whole world, but no better than the average burger I get in bars where people have recommended I try the burger. Drank some draft beer, better selection here than in your average bar.
So, a solid 3 out of 5 so far. Bartender was friendly, attractive, had a fiance. I guess still 3 out of 5.
I love the convenience of this place and the cozy vibe. However, while I like that the menu offers some modern options, I was disappointed in the actual pub food. Shepherds pie was a bowl of partly dried out meat with a scoop of mash on the middle, with a slice of cheddar, rather than spread across the entire top. Result: anything not under the potatoes was dried out. My companion's fish and chips looked a tad overdone. Meanwhile, drinks came out either incorrect or in a dirty glass. I give 3 stars because it may have been an "off" night; have had better experiences here before. But I certainly won't expect genuine pub food.
Review Source:I can't believe I never knew about this place. The atmosphere is great - super laid back, friendly staff, really nice owners. But I think what most people would be surprised about is the food - it's AWESOME - not the typical fare you'd expect in a pub. It's practically 5 star cuisine! This is the perfect neighborhood pub with food to die for. Plus, another surprise, they offer a gluten free menu, too. I highly recommend John Bull English Pub!
