Love the decor.  Much bigger and nicer than what appears from the outside.  Bar lounge looks really nice too.  As for food, we ordered dukboki, cornbaked chicken and spicy chicken.  Spicy chicken was nothing special, just hot n sweet sauce over chicken.  Cornbaked was the best chicken ever.  I normally prefer crispy fried chicken over baked but the corn batter makes it so crispy on the outside and juicy inside.  Dukboki was good too and we enjoyed the fried mandoo, sweet potatoe and even the battered boiled eggs. Steamed egg dish in a stone pot on the house was greatly appreciated.

My good friend and his fiance took me here the other night.  Upon walking i was quite impressed by their decor.  Dark wood with modern styling features.  It's quite large place with a dozen to baker's dozen number of booths with billiards and small lounge area.  Most booths are really for 4 people comfortably (maybe 6 if you're anorexic, but if your BMI is greater than 30 forget it...then only 2 people).   I think I saw a booth that fit 8-10 people ,but I can't be certain b/c I left the place somewhat intoxicated after drinking half a pitcher of beer.  Atmosphere is good for date night or for 4 good friends.  Any larger of a group than you'll risk being split up between groups and unable to really interact as the booths really divide you up well.

DIdn't sit in the lounge area, but it looked nice.  No one was there that night except the bartender.  It was a tuesday night.

We had the this baked chicken with many spring onions over it.  Really juicy.  I'm wonder whether they dipped it in oil first b/c it's hard to keep the chicken from drying out when baked.  Nonetheless it's very different from your typical fried korean chicken wings.  Verdict:  very good juicy baked chicken wings, just wish it had a little more flavor.

Looking forward to coming here again with my buddies.

I went a few weeks ago for dinner with a friend and had the best Korean style fried chicken; baked very lightly with many choices of mild to spicy sauces and they were all good.
Also tried a new shrimp dish wrapped in bacon, and the bacon was just right, not overpowering the dish.
We enjoyed it with a very fresh Korean rice wine that others have made claims it is "good" for you. I just enjoyed the taste!
the decor is nicely done and they even had carpeting in the restrooms! how posh!!

Food: Best grilled Korean style chicken. Try the garlic flavor with real garlic and dukbogee.

Drinks: This is more of a bar than a "grill" or a restaurant. Fruit flavored drinks were awesome but intoxicating.
Honestly, Korean beers tastes more like water that someone spilled a bit of MGD in and Soju tastes like something you made in high school chemistry class.
I really like Makgolis (rice wines) and flavoring them only makes it better. Any of the above, especially in combination will damage your liver. But that's why we drink, right?

Service: Friendly and ssssssllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Don't forget to press the button on your table "ding-dong" to get your server's attention. This is how they do it in Korea. Wood panels and bamboo shades (?) separates your party from other people.

Don't go here to meet new people. Don't be surprised if someone from your group stares off at one of their TVs while you're having a conversation with them.

They have blankets for people who are cold and/or wearing short skirts/shorts.

I really like the decor here but as far as bar food goes, I've had better.  I'm not sure why people are raving about the chicken, it left very little to be desired.  I went with a group of 8 and we ordered variety of dishes including baked chicken, spicy chicken and garlic chicken, seafood pancake, kimchi pancake and fried pork belly with kimchee and toufu.  My favorite was fried pork belly with kimchee but even so, I've had better elsewhere.  It's really spicy, so I would skip if you don't like spicy food.  The baked chicken was not good at all, bland, not enough crispiness to it and tasteless.  I was really looking forward to the baked chicken based on reviews and boy, was it a big let down.  I think the place is fine if you just want to sit down with friends for beer and light snack but wouldn't go for dinner.

A very small bar with decent foods to accompany your drinks. It's not a bad place to hang out with friends, but take note that it gets really packed during the weekends (expect a long wait).  The service has been a hit or miss the last few times I've been there.  Their ddukbokee (spicy rice cakes) are ok, their corn cheese was good (but deadly to your health!), their mussel soup is decent (very peppery), and their free appetizers such as Korean chips and eggs are well, free (how can you complain about free appetizers?)

Great dukbogee, great service. I hit up this joint with two Korean friends and really enjoyed this spot. The decorations and atmosphere is very trendy, with vintage paintings and large photos of Korean bands. There are also large TVs to watch ballgames on. They also have curtain dividers between tables to make your time a little more intimate for your party, which was surprising but a nice touch. Korean love ballads (probably about unrequited love, and getting finger nail cancer after moving away after a failed romance) are played softly in the background.

When you order drinks, they give you sliced cucumbers and Korean sweet potatoes to munch on. From what I hear, the chicken at this place is amazing. I will have to order some next time I hit up this joint.

One thing I noticed that was unique was that they offer blankets to people who are cold. I have yet to figure out why since it was not THAT cold inside, but it was given to some of the older ladies that were lounging.

There is also a bar if you want to socialize and meet new people, and their booths are very comfortable. The place is very clean, and I HIGHLY recommend going here with someone who is fluent in Korean.

I recommend  ordering cass beer with your soju if you want soju bombs. Cass is very smooth and will taste great with or without soju. Soju bombs and pickled vegetables accompany philosophical discussions about life and great friends very well.

    Cheers.

Meh, this was okay.  I prefer Ssaboo and DMZ to this place.  The menu is a little bit fancier (shrimp, salmon, etc), but it's like $15 for 6 little pieces of grilled shrimp dressed with some cheese. Kind of a rip-off.

It is a bit quieter than DMZ or Ssaboo, so you're not forced to shout at the person sitting next to you just to have a conversation.  Bathroom is definitely nicer than the other two though (obviously, since this place is brand new).

Music is a good combo of Korean and American top hits.

The latest addition to the Korean late night hot spots! I went here on Saturday night to try it out with some of my girlfriends and it just doesn't have the same atmosphere as Moraeshigae or DMZ. I would recommend it for dates as it's a very chill, more romantic type scene then the fun, drinking with your friend atmospheres at nearby Korean bars.

The music was Korean ballads and the decor is super nice. The staff seemed nice enough but for some reason didn't ask us if we wanted anything or offer a menu when we sat up at the bar in the back of the bar. Aside from the bar, it is all highly segregated tables. So if you want a more intimate Korean bar experience for a date or just want to stay within your group. However if you want to socialize with friends you might run into at the bar or make new random friends, this isn't the place for you.

This place just wasn't the right fit for us on this particular night though so I will need to go back and properly review the foods & drinks. Also, we took the last parking spot so there may be a parking issue moving forward whereas that's never an issue at any of the other KBars.

This place opened up maybe a month ago, and is another addition to the "suburban Koreatown" area in Glenview.  It's got a similar menu to Ssaboo and DMZ, but the decor is swanky.  Seriously, it's sooooo nicely decorated inside.  And the ladies' bathroom is swanky too, with a full length mirror and a stool to sit on, in case you've had too much soju.

The prices on the menu reflect this fancy decor I think, because for $15 for 8 fried drumsticks is a bit hefty.

The ddukbogi was good, typically cooked with hard boiled egg, fish cake, carrots. And the dduk was perfectly chewy.

We had their pomegranate soju, it was just okay.

This place is easy to pass by on the street, since the sign on the building is all in Korean.  There is a tiny little neon sign in the window that says "Ju-Rang Fusion Grill", but that's it.

If you're tired of Ssaboo and DMZ, try out this place, but beware of the higher prices.  Oh and there's a cute dessert place next door.
