This is the second time I came here. Â Today I brought my family here due to the great service that I received yesterday for lunch. Â Â I was very disappointed in the service we received this evening. . First off, Â we were not greeted promptly as we entered the establishment then had to wait at least 7 minutes to be greeted by our server. Â The dining room was empty so there was no reason that we waited that long to have our order taken. Â So after we ordered our food. Â Everyone in our table received there food except for me. Â I waited an additional 10 minutes until I received my entree, which the teriyaki beef that I ordered that was priced at 17.00 was over cooked and tough. Â It was like chewing on a piece of rubber. Â To top it off, Â my family was already half way done with their entree. Â We couldn't even get refills without us having to flag our server down. Â This kind of service is unacceptable. Â Considering I work in the industry as a manager at a top end restaurant. Â I did request to speak to the manager as I was presented with the bill, which by the way there was an additional charge for an entree that we never revived. Â The manager was very attentive and I did appreciate the way that she handled my concern. Unfortunate to say, Â regardless that the manager kim did resolve any concerns that we had. I will not be returning to this location and I will inform any of my colleagues to not visit this restaurant.
Review Source:Dear self from the past,
Know that 4 years later, Ra will still not get a packaging sustainability award (see previous review). Â I had half a bowl of rice, an egg roll, and a few pieces of beef teriyaki to take home, but the take out box was more than big enough to carry the full bento box, a sushi roll, and then some.
Note the specialty maki rolls are pricey. Â The spicy lobster one I tried was 5 pieces and $11, and lettuce on the verge of wilting was used. Â Plenty of the other rolls on the menu were $13-15 too.
I did enjoy the outdoor patio seating. Â You'll see that the chairs for the high tables are all roped together to prevent theft (by human or wind). Â Last tip: sign up for their email list, and you'll get a $20 certificate for use during your half birthday month!
Love,
Present self
"RA RA SUSHI BA!"
Unfortunately that was not the cheer that ran through my head while here. Â Instead it was a shriek of "OH MY GOD!" as negatively sounding as possible. Â A group of us got there 40min prior to kitchen closing for their Happy Hour Sunday night. Â As we approached the entrance, before even touching the door the high pitched "oh my god!" from an annoyed waitress pierced my ears. Â OK, i get it, you hate your job and don't want anymore customers but seriously, come on now. Â After we told the hostess we'd take a table at the bar, the waitress let out a sigh of relief saying 'good, thanks'. Â o_O
Our server was the bartender who was hustling arse! Â Although seemingly in a rush, we understood obviously since he was taking care of the whole 'lounge'. Â Food here is average, not great and not horrible. Â One complaint this time is the short ribs had come out way overcooked and dry. Â Left my jaw hurting from the intense chewing action I had to punish it with before throwing it down the hatch.
RA, is what it is. Â The Applebees/Chillis of the sushi world. Â Too mainstream to have great sushi yet not small enough to give a damn.
