This place is really cute. The layout matches the name and is well decorated. There are table situated and elevated around the dance area so you can sit and still view the party. There are two full bars and the restrooms are clean. There are "mini stages" (if you will) on the dance floor if you feel the need to amp your partying a bit. There's an outdoor patio with couches as well so if you want a breather from the loud music, you can step out. Staff is friendly and the guys who valet our cars are hilarious and sweet.
Depending on the night determines crowd/turnout. Â This place would have gotten 4 stars from me - except every time I have come here, there were tons and tons of teeny boppers (most of whom were under 17 years old). Â Drinks are a bit pricey (e.g. $10/Patron shot).
Everytime i've had a bad time I just head to Bliss (Dallas) which usually starts hopping around 1am and has an older crowd.
What did I do to deserve such Karma? Â Great looking club, even more fantastic patio, tacky vibe. Â I understand the idea was to completely move away from the feel of its previous name, Blackberries, but really it just underwent a renovation. Â
For a few months after it's grand opening, it was a nice place to stop by especially during the Thursday happy hour, but it's slipped since then and it's just another typical club with it's regular (sometimes invisible) clubgoers. Â It's fallen into the horrible stereotype of the "place to be" club that just isn't a place you want to be. Â It's the place every typical clique comes to segregate themselves from others while only mingling with their group and still be able to call it going out. Â
If by some crazy chance of misfortune you find your way inside, just ask yourself what you may have done wrong in a former lifetime.
As you enter, you feel like a movie star....small screens all over with organic animations. The place has a clean design, great bar tenders, great drinks.I had fun here and would definitely recommend for others to check this place out. If you've been to V2O in Long Beach, California, this place will blow you away. They play a mix of techno pop and hip hop, it's mixed well so that even those who aren't big on techno will still enjoy.
Review Source:I went to this place for a couple of good nights....I think they have gone another direction with there music and demographics than originally intended. I saw John Digweed w MSTRKRFT and also Willie Trimmer, Rob Vaughn on another night. The place never really caught on with the ultra hipsters so now I believe they cater to more of the hip hop and college crowd. Not sure, don't really wanna find out because the Promoters who throw the parties now are the same ones who used to do Purgatory or still do....Whatever! I'm not 18....it sucks that they wasted all that money on their "AVALON" sound system...which is the same one used at "Space" in Miami..one of the most famous clubs in the world. Whoever's idea it was to build a dance music club in the suburbs should have known it would have turned into a mainstream debacle. Â I guess the Addison SYP's never caught on...bummer....I'll buy that sound system from yah though...
oh yah and ps....The third and last time I went there the bathroom overflowed....omen
This huge 'ultralounge' opened up late last year in Addison. Â Not your typical area to find dance clubs and a way to avoid the drive downtown and expensive parking. Â
The place is absolutely huge with multiple bars. Â We went on a pre-opening night so it wasn't very crowded. Â The place is so big it looked kind of empty even though there were quite a few people there. Â You might have been able to hear the sound of crickets if it wasn't for the very loud thumping R&B. Â One friend who knew more about the place informed me, by yelling in my ear, that the sound system was only at about 30%. Â Ear plugs maybe recommended.
They seemed to have plenty of seating around when you want to rest after dancing. Â Some outdoor patio areas looked to be good places to get away from the noise, but still weren't open at the time of my visit.
