The Hub Sports Bar

I've been here twice and both times have been in the middle of the week for lunch so that's what I'm reviewing.  The place was practically deserted both times - just a small handful of people sitting at the bar or at the video poker game smoking.

Yes, there is smoking allowed.  It's a bar atmosphere but the place is huge.  Where we were sitting, it wasn't bad at all (and I hate HATE the smell of cigarette smoke, especially when I'm eating).  

Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.  She noticed I had picked out the cheddar cheese from my garden salad (I forget to mention no cheese when I order at most places) and said she'd remember that the next time I come in.  She even introduced herself to us by name and asked our names.  

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food.  Fresh homemade ranch dressing that was delicious, fresh salad fixings (mixed greens, fresh cut tomatoes and cucumbers and shredded carrots ... and of course that shredded cheddar cheese I picked out).  I ordered the BLT this time and it was a very generous portion.  The bacon was freshly cooked, thick cut smoked bacon with very little fat.  It was served with toasted bread and herb mayo.  Delicious.  It also comes with a side of cole slaw that I would equate to something being served in a fancy restaurant.  I chose a garden salad but I could have also gotten fries or onion rings.  I remember the onion rings from our first visit as being really good too - great big, thick cut onion rings with perfectly seasoned batter.

We will definitely come back for lunch since we work nearby and we know we'll get fast, friendly service and top quality food!  Oh, and the prices are very reasonable.

Golf game is awesome!!! Cool place to go and catch a game!! TV's everywhere.  Comfortable chairs, and cheap drinks.  What more can you ask for really?  

I'm taking off for the food, it is not very good.  And it takes forever to come out when you order it.

I've always recieved great service there...

Wow.  This place is a disaster.  Do not come here under any circumstance.  Even if this were the only place open late night it still wouldn't be worth it.  Good thing that's not the case!

Hmm..where to start.  They're always short staffed, but I don't think it would help even if they did have the right number of personnel as I doubt anyone is properly trained.  I've been to some places with bad service.  This bar makes those places seem like they have 5 star service.  Seriously, how are you just going to ignore your table(s) while you single out one group and spend all your energy serving them?  No es frio.  On our last (and final) visit it took us almost well over 30 minutes to get our food.  We're talking bar food here.  I mean you could potentially microwave bar food and it comes out halfway decent, which leads me to the food.  It is bad. No, make that the worst food I've had in recent memory.  This place just sucks.  How do you manage to overcook EVERYTHING.  The pizza is bland.  Anything chicken is dry.  The items are priced well, but who cares when you don't even want to finish the food.  Super gag.  If you're here for the drinks make sure you order things that are specially priced.  Otherwise, you'll run a crazy tab.  Good luck to anyone that is brave enough to dry this place!  Don't say I didn't warn you.
