The first time I came here I was very impressed, my drink was strong and well made, the service was exceptional, the cheese fondue was superb, and my grits was amazing. Â However, I am sad to say that I am feeling very depressed with my last experience.
We went at 7:30 on a Friday night, and it was dead. Â This was very confusing as this place is usually packed to the brim. However, we sat at the bar and ordered a drink while they were getting our table ready.
The drink was watered down (and for a martini that's pretty hard to do)
When we got to our table we ordered the cheese fondue. Â Now I was really excited about this as
1. Who doesn't love cheese, and
2. Kozmo has FABULOUS dipping bread along with a hearty cheese concoction that I had dreams about. Â However, they were out of the bread!!! They told us they had Naan, but pita bread came out instead. I wanted to cry tears of cheese, but I knew that the main dish would make up for it...or so I thought!
I saw lamb chops on the menu and my heart missed a beat. Â Lamb chops you say? Â Well, I don't see why not...oh maybe because they are OUT OF THAT AS WELL!
Now I am really starting to get the sniffles. Â
So I decide to order the fish and chips...because who doesn't have fish and chips? Â Well I think we all know what happens next.
I don't get my bread, I don't get the chops, and I don't get the fish and chips.
At this point I'm so agitated I just order a salad and try to escape ASAP. Â I ended up going to Wendy's and having their new pretzel bread burger which was delicious and a far better and cheaper option then Kozmo.
I would give this place 1 star but our waitress was really doing her best.
I don't think I will be coming back to Kozmo any time soon (especially if I'm hungry)
A Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde situation:
I went to Kozmo on a groupon over 6 months ago. The experience was fun, the food was good, and I planned on returning again (4 stars). I re-purchased a Kozmo groupon excited to return again. What a Mr Hyde this time around.
We arrived around 8 PM on a Friday night and waited a few minutes to be seated at the bar. I was excited to see the place was still busy (since they need the business up here in the burbs). Once seated we began to look through the menu excited to try the lamb chops and the cheese fondue. This is where it quickly ran downhill. First up, cheese fondue has no focaccia bread. The girlfriend really enjoyed it last time, and they are out of bread at 8:30 PM on a Friday night. Strange, they offer up Naan (which was really just Pita bread). Since I was in the mood for the cheese fondue we got this. I didn't mind the softer bread, but I could see the girlfriends disappointment for this hackneyed replacement. So onto the next course I felt there was more they didn't have than have. No lamb chops, no fish and chips, and I think there was something else. Fire your GM immediately, how do you run out of pretty basic things (and your star menu items) not even before it is dark outside? This is when the night went downhill as the service was stellar (but the kitchen constantly running out of items was a bit ridiculous). So instead I get the hangar steak again (over seasoned and salted) and the girlfriend gets a salad. At this point the date night meal is pretty much ruined and instead we booze a bit more to utilize our groupon.
I feel like I wasted my groupon since we got food I could have easily prepared at home and felt like they are just aching to turn away people. Had I not been on a groupon I would have probably got up and left as soon as they told us they were out of the appropriate bread for the cheese fondue and then ask immediately what else do you not have.
I am rating this a 2 since I do not plan on returning. I am sad as I really wanted to like this place but poor planning like that has really soured my experience since that was beyond frustrating and led to a bad date night.
We used the http://halfoffdepot.com coupon here a couple weeks back and it was definitely worth it. Â I like the modern feel of the place and would hang out here more often, if circumstances allowed. Â In fact, it's close enough to the house to stumble home from a Thursday-night craft beer tasting, if the need arose.
We shared a cheese fondue, which didn't come with enough accoutrements...just a couple slices of toasted bread. Â How about some granny smith apple with that, guys? Â Regardless of the portion size, it was good and I'd eat it again with the coupon. Â I had the cheeseburger with mac & cheese on the side; my girlfriend had the hanger steak. Â I enjoyed the burger, which was cooked just the way I like and came with exactly what I asked for. Â The steak, however, was a little tough. Â I don't really like hanger steak, but I've seen it done very well. Â Her fries were good, and they soaked up a little of the herb butter.
I bought my second coupon this past weekend with every intention of going back soon. Â Looking forward to it.
I went to this place with a buddy on a Fri. night, waiting is 15 mins, the waiter's attitude is lukewarm/don't care. Â We ordered Fried calamari, Parmesan Truffled Tempura Mushrooms as appetizer. Calamari came in a big paper bowl, with bottom half filled with paper ball, so there is really not a lot. Mushroom is very oily. Then we ordered fish and chips: there were only 2 strips of fish (for $20!) and several big chip sticks, very oily again.
Don't see any good thing about this place, won't be back again
I had been hearing a lot about this restaurant, but we hadn't made it over until now. We purchased a Groupon and were excited to to finally use it.
We were seated quickly and had drinks in front of us within a couple of minutes. We ordered the fondue and the fried mushrooms as appetizers. Fondue was really good, but the mushrooms...oh my god, the mushrooms...they were AMAZING! Thick strips of portabello in a crispy batter and served with big pieces of parmesan and a lemon aioli. (This is a bit embarrassing, but we ate 2 orders they were so good.)
I had the hanger steak and fries and my fiance had the special, a black and bleu burger with a side of mac & cheese. My steak was cooked so perfectly. So good. Fiance said his burger was delicious and he loved the mac & cheese.
I found the staff really friendly and helpful. Service was great. We'll definitely be back!
I love gastro pubs. Â When I tell people this (usually non-foodies), there is often an expression of confusion or disgust on their faces. "Gastro..., you mean like gastro-intestinal? Â Sounds like some kind of horrible disease." Â Anyways, yes, gastro pubs - delicious gourmet bar food (hopefully that doesn't sound like an oxymoron) ideal for pairing with cocktails, beers, and wine. Â
I really want to like Kozmo Gastro Pub. Â They have the right idea, but I fear that they have missed the mark a wee bit. Â
For starters, their "House Poutine", well...uhm...isn't poutine at all, really. Â For those who aren't in the know, poutine is a French-Canadian bar food consisting of French fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Â Kozmo's poutine was a bowl of soggy fries, braised beef, "gravy", and melted jack cheese - the gravy was more like a thin broth that caused the fries to become soggy and we didn't get very much beef. Â It didn't work.
We also tried the cheese fondue - much better, but I still feel like it was missing something. Â Don't get me wrong, the cheese fondue was rich and flavorful and the toasted ciabatta bread was great too - but there needed to be something to break up the hearty richness of the snack. Â To be fair, it is a snack, and this problem could easily be alleviated by enjoying with friends as an accompaniment to go with dinner entrees. Â I erred by eating it as a standalone dish. Â
For dessert, we tried the vanilla lava puffs with caramel and chocolate sauce. Â They truly were a guilty pleasure, much like donuts with dipping sauces, to enjoy after a meal. Â
This place is sure to appeal to college students, aged hippies, and other assorted hipsters in the area that are drawn to unsophisticated comfort foods that try to be sophisticated. Â If they try to refine their ways a bit, I would love to return - until that day, I will remain mostly uninterested.
Wish I could give zero stars. I used to come here often but they've lost a pair of regulars.
Came here on a Tuesday night. It was a 30+ minute wait for a table for 2 when I saw a booth clearly open. But wait---another couple that came after us got seated before us. Should've known I was in for a bad night.
Bartender was friendly, made strong drinks, and is probably the only redeeming factor of the night. When we WERE finally sat, our server wasn't what I was expecting. She quickly punched in our order, came to check on us halfway through the meal (not the beginning when we actually need something), then barely checked up on us for the remainder of the evening. I sat for 10 minutes without a beverage when she walked on by and didn't notice me trying to flag her down. Dislike.
We also had a half off depot voucher to use ($25 for 1 appetizer and 2 entrees). It was the final day we could use it. My boyfriends voucher said it was "redeemed" at 7:00am in the morning...ummm Kozmo doesn't even open at 7:00am. So when we tried to use mine, she couldn't accept it through the mobile app because it didn't state the expiration date. Customer service is severely lacking. Ended up paying well over $80+ when we should've only paid $30.
We won't be returning and ill be recommending my friends to steer clear from this establishment.
**UPDATE**
The owner contacted us and offered a $25 gift certificate as a remedy to our negative experience. We also received two drinks on the house. I have yet to return to use my gift card, but the gesture was appreciated. I still feel a little jipped with the half off depot debacle (since we spent $25 on the half off depot voucher, AND an additional $80 for our meal), but I can recognize good management.
I raised my rating to 2.5 stars rounded up to 3 stars, b/c service is HUGE on my part and the fact that my poor experience was brought to light and an attempt to resolve it was made, I didn't want to completely throw Kozmo Gastro Pub under the bus. Plus, the bartenders are still as friendly as ever. Maybe I won't be dining there anytime soon, but I wouldn't mind going back for a drink or two.
I recently dined at Kozmo with my husband & another couple. I've eaten there before & the food is pretty good. During our meal my friend pulled half of a kitchen glove out of the whipped butter that tops the hangar steak. We were horrified. I understand mistakes happen and would be able to overlook it if handled properly. The staff was very non-chalant about it. They comped his meal only and were basically like "sorry." That's a pretty big mistake that, in my opinion, warranted more than a simple apology. Will not be back.
Review Source:Kozmo's is a place that I frequently eat at. Â I live about 5 minutes away. Â I have never been disappointed. Â I was there tonight and had the roasted chicken which was awesome.
The burgers are very fresh and yummy. Â The owner and staff are always friendly. Â It is the perfect place for anything from an appetizer and a drink - a great dinner and the desserts are always great!
Our favorites are the mushroom appetizer, cheese fondue actually we love everything. Â They have the best Sangria they make it fresh they have red or white, it is very good.
I think what makes this place really stand out besides the great food is the staff and service - top notch!
Big group, call ahead and get the communal table :) We went with a big group (all from out of town) last minute, they were very accomodating. Â The food was great - we ordered one of everything on the appetizer list, sangria was yummy and the atmosphere was fun. Â I had been before and the experience was great both times.
Review Source:One of our favorite places to dine! Â I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Â I love looking for great deals and frequently purchases deals from Groupon. Â I am so glad I decided to give this place a try!!
As soon as you pull into the parking lot, you are greeted by complimentary valet parking. Â Love the trendy interior decor and the upbeat atmosphere. Â The service here is awesome. Â Very friendly and attentive. Â
I love many of their unique dishes, but I have to rave about the Cheese Fondue! Absolutely amazing! Â Other great dishes are hanger steak, shrimp tempura fish & grits, and caesar salad! Â Yummy!! Â All the mixed drinks and wine we have sampled were great. Â Definitely leave room for dessert!!
Great place!!
Came here on a Friday night with my husband. Â
Our first issue was the parking. Â The car park is very small and Kozmo is very busy...see the problem? Â They have valet parking but we didn't want to do that and because the car park is so small with people coming in all the time you are kind of stuck. Â We were not allowed to go around the back (where he was valet parking) to turn around. Â He said this was because of the way the cars parked. Â Pretty glad we didn't opt for valet - how were the cars parked?
Anyway, we eventually wiggle out of the tiny lot and park in the lot of the businesses next door and walk back.
We enter through the big billowing curtains (?). This is NOT a romantic date type place (not that that's what we were aiming for but just in case). Â It's NOISY. Â Really noisy.
I actually felt kinda trendy in here.
We had a short wait for our table which was great considering it was 8pm on a Friday night, the space is small and it was very busy. Â We hung at the bar for around 10 minutes until our table was ready.
The staff were friendly and pretty attentive. Â The food was sloooooow. Â The couple seated next to us didn't appear to get their food until we had practically finished our main dish (and we had a starter). Â Not quite sure what happened there but they appeared to get a discounted meal and some other goodies.
We had the lamb flatbread to start. Â Someone else here said this was bland but I loved it. Â The best part of the meal for me. Â We also had the cheese fondue. Â I'm not a fondue fan so I could have lived without it but hubby loved it.
For my main I had the Kozmo burger which was decent. Â I would have liked the burger to be a little seasoned as it was fairly bland without. Â Hubby had the steak salad which he said was ok except that the steak was cold and there wasn't much of it.
We didn't have dessert. Â We may return.
I had moved to the John's Creek area and had wanted to try Kozmo's but was trying to get settled in. Â I decided to stop by early in the evening on my way home from a business meeting. Â Valet parking? Â Really...when you can park in front of the restaurant...a bit pretentious...HMMM. Â This is when I should have turned around and gotten back into my car! Â And what's with those funky curtains blocking your way into the door? Â
From the minute I entered this sterile environment, the whole setting appeared somewhat OFF. Â A 'gastro' pub that looks like McDonald's? Â Plain black booth seats with plain vanilla wood tabletops. Â The only concession I saw to the holiday was a bunch of glass bowls with silver balls in them. Â There were 4 glasses in a row in the middle of the table, 4 black napkins and that's IT!!!!! Â NOTHING to warm up this atmosphere. Â When I sat down, the first thought I had was that the server was going to do something special with those four glasses LOL. Â Juggle them maybe? Â Hahahaha.
Service was very spotty. Â My drink order was taken then I waited quite awhile to get my drink because ONE server took the order, but it was ANOTHER server's station so I guess my order got lost in the middle; which was surprising since this is a small place with several servers and the building wasn't crowded.
I ordered the house salad and, realized upon tasting it, that the dressing must have been a drive by. Â Not only did I have to ask for more, but the server told me they 'scrimped' on the dressing. Â Then, NO salt and pepper on the table...this is a pet peeve of mine to have to ask for salt and pepper. Â When I asked about it, I was told that the owner didn't want ANYTHING on the table that he felt didn't belong there! Â
I also ordered a soup which was a pasty, sweet disappointment. Â But I have to say that the hanger steak with cabbage was delicious and very properly cooked to a beautiful medium rare. Â
I had invited someone to join me but hadn't expected them but received a phone call that they had decided to join me. Â Once the server cleared my plate and left my wine and water on the table; here comes the ANAL owner who immediately dipped down and took my salt and pepper without even a 'how do you do' or a word. Â When he realized I was through with my meal, he asked my server what I was doing sitting at the table. Now they have entertainment which is even weirder in this fast-food sterile environment so shouldn't he expect that someone might want to linger over a drink to hear the music? Â
You are not going to believe this....the server told me I was going to have to change tables because the OWNER thought I should leave so they were going to put I guess it was TIME out for me at a smaller table LOL. Â My party took about 30 minutes to join me and not only did the OWNER ignore me, but his WIFE also and he kept stopping my server asking him about me. Â I was very uncomfortable! Â When my party finally arrived, I asked them to eat quickly so we could leave. Â And, interestingly, the server never came back to the table after my friend arrived and it took another 30 minutes to order. Â She was ready to leave because she just felt that it was an unfriendly place unless you were a FOO - friend of the owner !
At last her food came, she gulped it down and we were on our way. Â Obviously, we did NOT ask for salt and pepper. Â I suspect that the owner keeps it under lock and key!!!!! Â NEVER did the owner acknowledge our presence at any time. Â Never asked us if we enjoyed our food or to thank us for our patronage. Â With a tab over $100 which only included ONE glass of wine and, in such a small environment, you might think he would at least welcome us. Â But we were apparently still in TIME OUT!!!!. Â Frankly, I think he adds a very negative vibe to the atmosphere and it appeared that he was always bothering his servers and had even chastised the bartender about the proper 'pour' height for a glass of wine! Â Apparently he poured a gnat's behind more than he should have! Unbelievable. Â
I think the food is passable, although you have to take the term 'gastro pub' with a grain of salt. Â High-end food and beer? Â No...expensive so-so food. Â Their wine list is very expensive and over the top for a 'pub'. Â At best, the atmosphere is confusing and the level of pretentiousness was just too much. Â Like Ronald McDonald playing maitre'd at the Queen's table. Â Kozmo's takes itself much too seriously and the owner...HE NEEDS TO STAY HOME!
Find another place to spend your hard-earned money where the atmosphere is warm and friendly; not cold and sterile! Â I can think of many other restaurants where I can be appreciated for my patronage with a check exceeding $100 for 2 people and no alcohol!!!! Â Needless to say, I won't be back.
I've seen and heard about this place for a few years now, but had never actually been because... well, I guess there hasn't been much of a reason. And why not? This place is close to where I live. Maybe it's the valet parking that drove me away - pardon my pun. Who in their right mind would need to valet park when even the farthest parking space is maybe less than 50 steps from the restaurant door? I digress.
I came here on a Wednesday night with a friend who had the Half Off Depot voucher. I had a difficult time picking out what to order.
Appetizer-wise, apparently the fondue and calamari are popular, but we started with the tempura-fried mushrooms. These were great! They were chewy and the batter was delicious. I had never thought of dipping mushrooms into batter and frying. The batter was light and crispy just like your usual tempura.
I ordered the Blackened BLT sandwich which has blackened tilapia and then the usual bacon, lettuce, and tomato. I started eating the sandwich like an open-faced sandwich because it was so large. There was a generous amount of fish in the sandwich between the huge bun that I couldn't finish it. The lettuce and red cabbage inside seemed more like a slaw. Then I took a bite - the way the sandwich was meant to be eaten - and it's an entirely different experience. That'll teach me to eat a sandwich or burger properly. I had a side of mac n cheese. FYI, the side order mac is the same thing as the entree but without the truffle oil and bacon. Bacon would've made it taste better, but I think the mac n cheese was salty enough as it is. I could taste the different cheeses used, but it had the consistency of what your normal mac n cheese looks like out of the blue box. That's not to say it tastes like Kraft - it just looks like it.
Lastly, dessert: creme brulee and lava puffs. Let me just say that I though we hadn't reached the $56 limit, so dessert would help. Except....1) one dessert was not enough to break the limit, and 2) even after ordering 2 desserts, we realized that the coupon only covers 1 app and 2 entrees. Attention to detail has never been my strongest suit. Anyway...
Creme brulee was below standards. I felt like I had no choice but to pick it or the "warm chocolate chip cookie and cream." Â The creme was not blended too well so I could feel the egg texture in my mouth. Sadly, the top was not crunchy enough and that's the best part! Perhaps it sat out too long before being served or they didn't torch it long enough
Lava puffs are probably the ONLY thing worth writing about here and it's not because I have a penchant for sweet things. I also think it's a cruel joke from the chefs in the kitchen. The presentation of the paper bag was cute. Think of the puffs as a cream-filled donut but the dough itself is very much like funnel cake. There's that cinnamon-sugar dust aroma that invites you. Now, I call these puffs a cruel joke because the cream inside has the tendency to burst upon biting into it. This, in turn, leaves a huge mess in your fingers and if, you're as unfortunate as me to not have a plate, you'll find yourself using both hands in attempt to "catch" the globs of cream. Consequently, I'm licking my fingers like a cat. I'm sure the guys in the kitchen were wide-eyed with desire, watching a girl lasciviously licking her fingers and eating what bluntly should be called "cream balls." Â Messy in my mouth indeed.
I'm glad I tried this place out. The service was great, the ambience was a bit funny because of the modern clean look and lounge music. Nice try, Kozmo. I almost thought I was in Buckhead. There are just too many places to go that I wouldn't find myself coming back.
I have to start off by saying that I LOVE Kozmo's!! Â I have been dining here since they opened and I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review. Â The Food is delicious, the service and staff are amazing and the decor is great. Â I have had my last three Birthday parties here. (See pictures)
Some of my favorite appetizers are the Parmesan Truffle Mushrooms with Lemon Aioli and the House Poutine. Â You can't go wrong with either! Â Their Burgers are the best. Â Everyday their seems to be a different deal. Â My two favorites are Comfort Tuesday when they offer their yummy fried chicken! Â Get there early because there is a limited amount of Chicken Dinners so order as soon as you sit down. Â You won't regret it. I also love half price wine by the bottle on Wednesdays. Â It's great to meet up with friends to get over hump day and get the chance to sample several bottles of wine at half the price.
Recently we were fortunate enough to enjoy two amazing specials of the day. We started out with a salad with fresh Georgia Tomatoes, Arugula and Feta Cheese and then ended the evening with Grilled Georgia Peaches with a Caramelized Bacon Vinaigrette. YUM! I also love their Vanilla Lava Puffs with Caramel + Chocolate Dipping Sauce. Â
The Cocktails are also great. Â My personal favorite is their Mojito! Â I could go for one right now!! Â (-: Â If you have been to Kozmo's in the past you might remember the bartender that they used to have. Â Well ladies, Bo is back and he is making great drinks again behind the bar. Â Nothing better that a great drink and a little eye candy all at the same time! Â
If you haven't tried the restaurant yet run I tell you. Â If you haven't been in a while what are you waiting for?? Â Let me know when you are going and I will meet you there! (-;
Go ahead twist my arm
It normally takes a lot for me to try new restaurants and businesses, but the "366 Review Challenge" that I have undertaken this year - along with great online deals for restaurants - has forced me to be more open to trying new things. Â So when a friend invited me to dinner to use a Groupon at Kozmo Gastro Pub, I was totally up for it.
The Groupon was pretty amazing - $29 for three appetizers ("Snacks"), a bottle of wine, and a dessert. Â You would think that three appetizers/snacks for two people would not be enough to call a meal. Â However, it ended up being WAY more than enough!
When we arrived at the restaurant around 7:45 pm on a Tuesday evening, the place was pretty busy. Â We were told that we would have to wait about 20 to 30 minutes for a table. Â However, we were invited to sit at the bar while we waited. Â We ordered our bottle of "Just" Pinot Noir to sip on while we waited for a table.
By the time we were seated about 20 minutes later, we knew what we wanted to order. Â We ordered the Fried Calamari, House Poutine, and one of their flatbreads on special for the evening.
My friend and I were so engaged in conversation that I didn't pay attention to how long it took for our food to arrive. Â But it was certainly a reasonable amount of time.
* Fried Calamari ($9.50) - Served with a side of Sweet Chili Lime Sauce, the fried calamari was served in a brown paper bag bowl. Â It was served hot and sprinkled with black sesame seeds. Â I'm not sure if it's because I was hungry or what, but the calamari was amazing! Â The sauce, which reminded me of my favorite Sweet Chili sauce at McDonald's, was a perfect complement. Â Yum!
* House Poutine ($12) - Per the menu description, this appetizer consists of "Fries, Braised Beef, Gravy, Mozzarella Cheese." Â I had never heard of this french fry dish before, and although I thought it was pricey for what it is, it was delicious! Â The braised beef chunks were fairly large, too. Â I really enjoyed it!
* Flatbread (Special) - I can't recall exactly what it was called, but one of the flatbreads on special for the evening was topped with cheese, some sort of sausage, mushrooms, and red bell peppers, among other things. Â It looked like a mini pizza and was cut into eight tiny slices. Â This, too, was flavorful and good.
Since we knew we were getting a dessert, we forced ourselves to stop eating with a tiny amount of space left in our stomachs. Â You would think that three appetizers may not be enough for two people to consider dinner, but it was plenty. Â I actually had to take the leftovers home (which, by the way, were still delicious the next day!).
We asked our server what the most popular dessert was, we ordered the Pineapple Upside Down Cake per her suggestion.
* Rum Glazed Pineapple Upside Down Cake & Ice Cream ($6) - I am NOT a dessert person, but OH MY GOODNESS... Â This was absolutely AMAZING! Â The cake was warm, soft, and delicious! Â It was the perfect sweetness, and the vanilla ice cream on top went so well with it. Â The rum glaze over and around the cake was kind of like caramel but somewhat grainy in texture. Â I made sure I had a bit of the glaze which each bite. Â I highly recommend the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and would definitely get it again!
Overall, Kozmo Gastro Pub gets 4 stars for their delicious appetizers and amazing dessert. Â We had no issues with the service, which was friendly and attentive. Â The food itself is worthy of 4.5 stars, but I had to subtract 1/2 a star because it is really pricey for what it is. Â Additionally, the parking lot is super tiny, so I would recommend carpooling if possible. Â I am very grateful to my wonderful friend for introducing me to Kozmo Gastro Pub with the amazing Groupon deal. Â We were able to eat/drink over $80 worth of appetizers, wine, and dessert for $29 plus tip! Â To be honest, I wouldn't be able to afford this place based on the regular menu prices, but I would return if I find another great online deal.
[Review 247 of 366]
Overall: Food tastes great and has a great vibe. Great place to eat if your in the area but I don't know if I would go out of my way to stop by.
Food: Came to eat on a Friday night. Place was slammed so I grabbed a seat by the bar. Ordered the cheeseburger and fries with a beer and I must say that is one great burger! Bread is perfect, patty is moist, and the toppings are just right. Fries are also great - light and crispy. I've also been here on one other occasion and had the duck egg rolls (I think that's what its called) and they were good, not great.
Service: Although it was slammed, they offered us seats at the bar and the bartender was great!
Atmosphere: Packed with people on a Friday night. Decor is clean modern. Has a great vibe to it.
Parking: They do valet parking, although I was able to self park if space permits.
This place kind of sucks. Â I suspect they have a lot of positive reviews because they constantly have living social/groupon deals so people like a cheap beer. Â
I have been here only one time, but I won't go back. Â This place does not have the feel of a real gastropub (like nyc style), and it feels like a strip mall bar, which it is. Â My drink was overpriced and terrible. Â The staff was not friendly.
Last visit we had:
Cheese Fondue: Excellent fondue. A little runnier then I am accustom to, but superb flavor. I am not even a cheese fondue lover and I would go back for this one.
Burger: Their burgers are top notch. You can't go wrong.
Duck confit: This dish was awesome. Would highly recommend for hearty rustic food.
The pontaine fries are always a good choice as well. The fried chicken on Tuesdays is the best I've had.
My 1 critic is sometimes the waiters are not very personable, but this is made up for by the enthusiasm of the owner. As a side note, he can also provide good suggestions on the wines. A+
First off, the people joking that Kosmo is in Alpharetta are funny. A lot of people live in Alpharetta, and not everyone lives ITP. Yeah, it's far, if you live ITP...but not if you live in Alpharetta!
Bottom line, great little pub. We made a meal out of the sides simply because the main courses that night didn't appeal to us and the hangar steak dish at $21 seemed a little pricy for a cheaper cut of meat.
Our sides were mac and cheese, fries, braised cabbage with bacon, white beans ragout and spinach. All were exceptional. Also had the single-malt bourbon, ginger and lemon drink--I'd order it again.
Mac and cheese is a must try; definitely better than even the better mac and cheeses you've had. It's not browned on top, but it's super good nonetheless with several types of cheeses. The beans--they made them as savory as you possibly can with homemade chicken stock. Fries were perfect. The braised cabbage was my favorite.
The sides are $4 and $5 and reasonably sized. Five should feed a hungry couple.
Great atmosphere. I'll be back. Next time I'm up there, in the burbs you know, on a Tuesday, I'll make the trip to try the fried chicken, which they say sells out by 8 because it's so popular.
Deep in the suburban jungle of Johns Creek, Kozmo is a cozy, casual establishment serving good food at medium to medium high prices.
1st star - Terrific Groupon deal
Kudos to Kozmo for getting people to come out to a remote location in the 'burbs with a $25 coupon for $53 worth of food.
This covered 2 entrees up to $42 total and one appetizer up to $11. Â My wife and I got about $40 out of that, and I got one of the more expensive items on the menu.
2nd star - Casual but upscale dining
Remember -- this is the 'burbs. People are gonna bring their kids and show up in sweatshirts. Â Regardless, the setting is contemporary and simple -- a bar on the left, a long rectangle view of the service line on the back wall, booths and some tables in between.
3rd star - Pretty good service
My wife and I went on a Friday night and found the place rather dead. Â The assumption was that it was the first Friday of Lent, and, obviously, we didn't give up squat. Â Moar food for us, I say.
Seating was prompt and courteous, and our waitress was at the table soon after sitting down. Â We got clear information about the specials -- a variation on the hanger steak, if I remember correctly -- and put in drink orders. Â Those arrived quickly enough, and we got our orders in.
4th star - Pretty good food
First order of business -- our Groupon appetizer. Â We went for the andouille sausage flatbread. Â It was pretty tasty, although a little bit more of the sausage would've been nice. Â For two people, it was almost too big an appetizer -- we both got several pieces of this "pizza."
My wife decided to keep things simple and go for the Kozmo Cheeseburger with mac & cheese as the side -- $9.50. Â Nothing memorable about the burger -- it was filling and good. Â Decent portion of food for the price.
I chose to maximize my portion of the Groupon and snagged a flat iron steak w/ fries -- $20. Â I ordered it medium rare and was absolutely floored. Â It arrived at the table cooked to perfection -- a terrific medium rare -- sitting atop a pile of thin cut seasoned fries. Everything was topped off with a garlic chive butter of some sort.
Overall, I liked the dish, but the garlic chive butter and the seasoned fries were, together, very salty. Â I love salt, too, but I also know when I'm getting a little too much of it. Â I did find out later, from our waitress, that I could order the steak next time substituting any of the sides. Â That was not listed on the menu.
Last thing regarding the food. Â We also purchased the braised cabbage with bacon to try from the list of sides on the menu. Â Probably one of the best things we had all night. Â I would definitely get it -- $4 -- again.
5th star - Reserved for a future review
Other than the moronic valet parking in a strip mall lot in the depths of suburbia, I can't find anything wrong with Kozmo. Â I would much rather go here than Marlow's Tavern over on Old Alabama and Jones Bridge because the food had more to it.
I DO worry that their deep ITP location will hurt their staying power. Â I also noticed another Groupon this past week -- I missed my chance to buy it -- which makes me worry they're trying to get folks to come in.
Please give them a try. Â It's a nice little upscale joint in the 'burbs, and we need this sort of place.
Little pricey but cool atmosphere and good portions of very good food. Recommended.
Wifey ordered the Salmon Burger -- it was really spicy and I was surprised she ate it, knowing her sensitive palate. I liked it but even I thought it was hot (and I like hot stuff which is why I married my wife!). I had the spicy spaghetti with chicken and it was really good. It was less spicy than my wife's salmon burger but I really liked it. NOTE: Even though it says it's spaghetti, there was no traditional red or white sauce in it. The "sauce" was where the spice was and it was very light and very good. It went great with the strips of chicken. I'd have that again. Wifey would not have the salmon burger again but she would definitely try something else.
We had some drinks as well. The Ginger Mule used real ginger and worked well with the "spiceness" of the night. I know now why it's called a "mule" because that ginger really gives it a kick. Pretty good but would try something different next time.
We found Kozmo because the other restaurant we went to in the area had a one hour plus wait time. We didn't realize Fat Tuesday was approaching and had tried to go to a cajun place -- big mistake. But, our mistake turned into a fun night in a new, cool place. We'll be back!
Let me start by saying that I don't give out five-star reviews very often. Kozmo absolutely deserves my coveted five-star rating.
I feel like we hit the lottery by living so close to this AMAZING place! Had I not been looking on Yelp for places to eat near our new house (we just moved here last weekend), I would NEVER have found this place.
It's tucked into a mini-strip mall and it's next to a tattoo parlor. It doesn't even look like a restaurant, as the only thing identifying it is the sign on the outside "Kozmo" is all it says.
We had our son with us and we weren't sure if it was going to be a kid-friendly place. We went inside and we still weren't sure, based on the interior. It looked "trendy" and "upscale" and not the kind of place that takes too kindly to toddlers.
I was so pleasantly surprised to see a children's menu section on their menu! We ordered our son the mac-n-cheese and then decided to try the burgers. I added bacon to mine and I was so glad I did!
Our server was AWESOME. She was attentive, friendly, and so sweet with our son. She made sure to put his food order in first and it came out right away so he didn't have to wait. She also drew a picture of a Christmas tree for him to color. It was very thoughtful.
So now I will review the food...I can honeslty say that I've never had a better cheeseburger. It was juicy, seasoned perfectly, and so flavorful. Not greasy AT ALL and the onions and bacon added the perfect mix of salty to the savory burger. We were both incredbly pleased with our burgers.
My huband got the mac-n-cheese as his side and I got the fries. We shared so we could each taste both sides and we loved them both. The fries were yummy and the mac-n-cheese is out of this world.
We cannot wait to go back and will be going on a Tuesday for their "Comfort Tuesday" special of fried chicken and mashed potatoes!!
The best thing about Kozmo is the price. The three of us were able to eat an incredible dinner and walk out the door (with a 20% tip) and spent less than $40. There aren't too many places that you can say that about these days!! We WILL be back to Kozmo!!!
I'm an open ITP snob. I make no bones about it: I even consider Buckhead too far to travel on most occasions. I have no idea how the hell I ended up here, but I can guarantee you that when I got in my car at home I thought it was going to be a hell of a lot closer. Unlike most of Alpharetta, Kozmo isn't just off the highway. It is deep in to the trenches of the burbs: a wild terrain that I tend to avoid at all costs. I mean, I drove past a plastic surgery office called "The Swan Building." How do people live like this?!
But all OTP judgement aside (okay, not really) this place is decent. Certainly not worth a trip from the city, but if you live in the 'hood I could see it being a welcome change from all of the other strip mall options (yes, this is in a strip mall with a tattoo parlor, but this is Alpharetta- what isn't in a strip mall?). The decor is minimalist and well done, although the tables in the booths are so big that you'll feel a little far from your dining companion: good for a group, not so much for a date. The music also leaves something to be desired: all Top 40 dance music. I felt like I should be at the gym or on the dance floor at Blake's: it was odd.
The beer menu was okay but quite sad in the draft department: thanks goodness for Oberon in a bottle. The food menu has some nice twists to it, although not much of anything for vegetarians. I ordered the Kozmo salad which totally hit the spot: crisp leafy greens with a light lemon dressing. I wouldn't recommend it as a whole entree as it wasn't anything of great interest, but as a starter it worked. The risotto balls fell a little flat: the sauce needed more sauce and the arugula seemed to be an afterthought.
Service was a little slow and off at first, I think they were annoyed by our late weeknight arrival (around 9pm on a Wednesday). Food came out relatively quickly, and although they're open until 11, I felt us getting the stinkeye from the staff as we continued our conversation past 10. When we left around 10:20, they locked up behind us, so beware if you're planning on heading here for a nightcap.
Kozmo was our Friday Date Night last week. I chose it not only based on Yelp reviews but also its late closing time (midnight on the weekend). I was understandably distressed when we walked in at 9 and were greeted by a server telling us he had to check that the kitchen was still open. This was, apparently, just wishful thinking on his part as they were indeed still cooking.
The decor was uber-urban. Exposed duct work and clean lines dominated. The tap water was served chilled in a glass bottle. The place was clean (admittedly it was dark).
Our waitress was pleasant and well informed on the menu. We got fried calamari for an app. It was excellent. The sauce it was served with was super spicy (in a good way). Doug W got a burger, their specialty. I had the fish tacos with mac and cheese (another signature item). We were both extremely pleased with our meals. I had a glass of white wine ($7) and Doug had a very reasonably priced Kozmopolitan ($5.50).
All in all a positive restaurant experience, especially if you need late night dining in Alpharetta (just don't let the first guy you meet tell you the kitchen is closed!).
I had a groupon, so I treated my homegirl for her birthday. Â I had the baked 1/2 chicken and mash potatoes...tasty. Â The drink I had was strong...can't remember cuz it was some concoction that was on the drink specials. Â Matter of fact, these folks don't skimp on the liquor cuz my friend had a drink and it was too strong.
I'll be back because the waitress was so nice and I hope she serves me next time!
What a great find?! Â Alpharetta, I did not think you had it in you but I have been mistaken....
I came here on a Friday night and it was busy (not uncomfortably packed). Â The wait was about 20mins so we grabbed a few drinks at the bar. Â I would HIGHLY recommend one of their martinis - specifically, I had the Caramel Pear Martini and it was delish but any other is guaranteed to be equally as good.
The food deserves 5 stars from me... it was authentic, innovative, delicious, and inexpensive. Â While they were out of burgers for the evening (I guess the lunch crowd craved too much cow and not enough fish/chicken), there was a wide variety of other things to choose from on their menu. Â For starters, our table had the House Poutine and you would be INSANE not to get it. Â For those of you who have not had it before, its fries, smoked brisket crumbles, gravy, and mozzarella cheese... a scrumptious and flavorful appetizer to share with a big group.
For a meal, I had one of their specials which were seared scallops, parsnips, green beans, and other mixed vegetables atop a cauliflower mash. Â I just want to say WOW - I don't want to toot my horn but I think mine was the BEST choice in my group but the others had fish tacos, salad, and pot pie. Â Everyone was very pleased with their choices... we were all silent eaters once the food came.
It's a modern décor but the age of patrons' range anywhere from yuppies in their 20's to older aged couples enjoying a Friday night "out on the town". Â
With 2 martinis, two beers, and two entrees - our bill came to around $50. Â
From a food and drink standpoint, this place is awesome and I double dog dare you to check it out!!
Preface: Â I typically don't travel too far outside Atlanta for anything but outlet shopping. Â And before you roll your eyes and think that I'm another one of "those" people, hold it. Â I don't harbor any OTP disdain at all; in fact I grew up a stone's throw from the Big Chicken. But heading too far from the city in any direction can be risky dining, as I've been the victim of much hostility because of my phenotype. Â Having a S.O. Â who reflects light differently has earned me more than my fair share of angry glares. Â So 30 miles to Kozmo was a trek, and it was nerve wracking to read "6 more miles north" on the GPS on the drive. Â That's how much I wanted to go here.
The decor is clean and attractive, with spacious booths and a well lit dining area. Â I'd never made it to the Globe, but heard many good things and was eager to try the Morgan's latest venture. Â Ultimately though, I think it was the promise of poutine that did it for me. Â I love fries with gravy, and in the Great North it can be had anywhere from Swiss Chalet to KFC. Â Sadly friends, this poutine fell short. Â The fries were limp, under cooked and flavorless. Â The gravy was watery, and though fresh cheese curd wasn't necessary, the mozzarella didn't pack enough of a punch to pull the dish together.
Unfortunately this set the tone for the rest of the dishes. Â We ordered a burger and the evening's special (pasta with shrimp, artichoke hearts, spinach, mushrooms, and Alfredo sauce). Â The shrimp was cooked perfectly, but overall the flavors were muddled and everything was under-seasoned. Â The burger really fell squarely into the 'meh' category as well.
On the bright side, our waitress was lovely. Â She handled the adjacent table's bridal shower--and their 12 separate checks, with grace and panache. Â Maybe it was an off night? Â Not sure I'll be producing 60 miles round trip of CO2 emissions to find out.
My friend and I found a really great coupon on scout mob so we thought we would check this place out.
The restaurant is small and modern and has a good vibe. We started out with caramel martinis that were delicious. We got deviled eggs as an app. I found them well seasoned but yet a little too salty. I ordered the salmon blt without bread and fries. The salmon was way overcooked and the blackened seasoning worked against this dish, as it was applied too heavily. The fries were fresh and seasoned with herbs.
The service was slow but we pretty much had everything we wanted when we needed it.Just an average dining experience at s heavily discounted price.
The prices are REALLY high for average pub food. I may go back for a happy hour drink and give it another shot.
Still a fan but second time around just wasn't the same. Â This night - started off with the Calamari. Â Has Calamari become the "Potato Skins of the Eighties"? Â Every restaurant serves them just about the same way! Â As Kozmo, they were just okay. Â Served with hot peppers recipe taken from Capital Grille. Â Will pass the next time around. Â On to the burgers ....
I had the cheeseburger complete with bacon and sauted mushrooms. Â It was DE-LISH! Â As a decadent side, I went for the french fries which were perfect as well. Â After that entree, there was no room for dessert. Â Next time it will be drinks before and dessert afterwards!
The only annoying thing was the rowdy women (you give us girls a bad rap) at the bar shrieking while laughing and the shrill whistles that echo off the restaurant's concrete interior. I could tell that our waitress who was delightful gets to know her regulars. A closer look at the bar revealed a very spartan l-shaped ledge and glass/pressboard shelves straight from IKEA. There is a large velvet curtain that you must pass through to get into this space. Kind of weird but all in all - will come back for the Kozmo and Burger!
Thanks to Scoutmob, Alain, Gretchen, and I had an excuse to go to Kozmo. Â
We started with the deviled eggs, which were delicious - yolks were nicely seasoned to taste more like relish than yolk, which is how I prefer. Â Having heard about the burger from Alain, I opted for it with macaroni and cheese. Â When it arrived, it looked huge, but the bun was mostly fluff, and I mean that in a good way. Â It was just the right size for the patty. Â I'd asked for the burger medium, and the last bites were a little too charred for me, but all in all it was yummy. Â The burger comes with mayonnaise already on it, and ketchup on the side. Â I had to request mustard, but the server had it to me in no time. Â The macaroni and cheese had excellent flavor, but the sauce was quite soupy, and I ended up straining the last few bites with my fork so that i got noodles, rather than macaroni soup.
The decor was modern and minimal - which is a nice respite from my chaotic work life. Â While I normally prefer comfy cushioned benches, Â the exposed concrete and lack of fabric made the place feel cool and airy in the summer heat. Â
We were the only ones there when we arrived, so the service was attentive and speedy, without being overbearing.
I'll definitely be back. Â I'm not sure that I'd splurge for a $10 burger without the coupon, but I would like to try their salads.
The first time I went to Kozmo was entirely to try their desserts. They weren't bad, but they weren't anything I would actively seek out, so I kind of easily wrote off going back, especially since I had no idea where the hell we were.
Then, Scoutmob had 50% off, so I figured I might as well give it a try. My boyfriend and I went out there (he even lives OTP and this felt...out there) off a halfway main road back there.
Weirdest location. And the parking lot is absolute crap, no wonder they have valet sometimes. You have sedans parked in compact car spaces, and spaces where there should be no spaces, and it just made me feel that if I ever build a parking lot, I am going to make subcompact spaces just to see SUVs and sedans try to park in them.
I want to like the interior but it just feels uptight for what it is: their website makes them sound so fancy but it's not...I mean this place is in a strip mall with a tattoo shop.
I had already had one of their white chocolate raspberry martinis before which was great, and the ~kozmorita~ wasn't too bad either.
We had cheese fondue for an appetizer, which we figured was the same cheese as the mac and cheese (yep). It works for dipping bread, but I didn't like it with noodles. And there was no way that would normally be worth ten bucks.
I was adventurous and had the Salmon BLT, which was super messy. The bottom bun basically disintegrated on the first half I was eating, which was a ton of fun. It wasn't that much of a BLT considering lettuce was just shredded up and the piece of salmon was massive. I wouldn't get it again though. But I really liked the fries. I had them taken away from me so I would stop.
It was alright, but it's such a weird location that now that I've been there once, I see no reason to go back.
Second chances: 7 months after first experience
Our visit took place on a Wednesday, half price wine bottles, apparently. There was no indication of valet parking when we pulled up and parked in front of the door, but as we walked in, my friend was told they were trying to "control" the parking lot and took her keys.
It was fairly crowded near the bar, but we were seated quickly in the back where there were fewer people. Still, a very loud evening.
Service started out fine, and we tried their version of Poutine. Meh. The gravy was soupy and bland, the fries got soggy...however, the shredded brisket was perfect. I took a huge risk and asked for salt and pepper. This had bothered me last time. I do not like overly salty food but I feel like they don't realize a LITTLE can accentuate flavors...my dining partner agreed.
Entrees: Friend had the burger and mac n' cheese and was pleased. They really do know how to work with meat. I tasted her mac n' cheese and it was good, but not the best I've had in a restaurant.
I had the fish tacos, which were nice. A good batter, the sauce was zesty and I enjoyed them. My side was the treat of the evening, the braised cabbage and bacon was excellent! I would have been content with a large bowl of this as an entree.
Two strange things happened that caught me off guard...the server removed my appetizer plate, including my knife without asking and before I could even ask for it back. Then, when she came back, she took our bowl of Poutine w/out asking. There was still some left, and although we had both finished our meals, any good server will tell you that you never take a plate, even an empty one, without at least saying "Can I get this out of your way"? Â I jokingly said several times "This is what I get for asking for salt and pepper!"
All in all, really not a bad place. I kind of feel like it's the "I've had better, but I've had worse" kind of thing. I would go back, but nothing but the cabbage has stood out enough to really draw me there.
The biggest issue of the evening was the complimentary valet...the parking lot was a "flustercuck" when we left...running cars lined up just waiting to be parked, ONE valet guy running down the street to Kroger to get cars...we even spoke to one lady trying to park in a parking spot telling her they'd just move her car. Poorly planned, although it's really not their fault...the parking lot was just not designed to accommodate that much business.
I'm a suburbanite, so I'm not hip to these new fangled Midtown restaurants. Thought it would be helpful if I attempted to define a few terms before I began my review...
"Gastro Pub" - Why do I want to associate "gastro" with rolaids, or the trots? Just doesn't sound appetizing at all. But oh contraire! A gastro pub is really just a fancy pants pub, with expensive food and smaller portions. Who knew?
"Minimalist Decor" - No floor or window coverings, bare ceilings with exposed strip mall parts, and nothing on the walls. Sounds a lot like my dorm room in college. But again, oh contraire! Who knew I was so design-forward back in my drunken student days!
So now that we have these new terms out of the way, onto Kozmo. They are in a terrible location. This strip mall is a block off Jones Bridge road, almost into the neighborhoods along Douglass. The strip mall is perpendicular to the road. Just very strange. I can think of a dozen other strip malls in Johns Creek with empty space that would have been better. Nevertheless, people are finding this place.
I was disappointed with the service today for lunch. There was only one waiter for the entire place, and he was a bit spacey. I hope this isn't a common theme, but perhaps they were just short handed today.
We started with the tempura popcorn shrimp appetizer. Amazing. They were a little larger than what I would consider popcorn size. But the breading was perfectly crispy with some heat. The menu mentions a spicy mayo that I didn't see included. No biggie. These things didn't last long at our table.
I ordered a regular burger. The sirloin and brisket give it steakburger taste with a crust of fresh ground pepper. The combination reminded of a steak au poivre. It was tasty, yet a tad on the dry side.
I was disappointed with the fries, which appeared to be the frozen variety. Why put so much attention into the burger and not use fresh spuds? But even so, they were cooked well with course salt and pepper.
My work spouse got a veggie sandwich with beans. The beans were a little on the al dente side, but still very flavorful.
So all in all, this is an interesting place with cool food. I just don't think they live up to the hype at this point. Pass the rolaids.
Gretchen O. made a great suggestion in checking out Kozmo for lunch. We got there just as it opened, if you've been to The Globe the feel is similar.
It is very bright and clean. Also noticed the one chef working the kitchen. I suppose they're new so the lunch rush hasn't happened yet. Our server arrives and gives us a little insight on how their burgers are made, I'm sold. We do manage to start with the deviled eggs which were really good!
I order the burger, medium, with the mac & cheese. When it comes out, the size of it reminded me of FlipBurger, with its smallish circumference. The burger was cooked well, tasted great. The mac & cheese has little bit of bite to it.
Will definitely have to come back again for another lunch or perhaps in the evening to see how the traffic picks up.
While it ain't H&F, it is a real gastro-pub, in the true sense of the gastro word. But first, the digs. It sits in a tiny suburban non-descript strip mall where parking is tight. Inside, a cool-looking restaurant: minimalist white walls, shiny concrete floors, comfy modern booths, big blackboards that spell out the menu, and an open kitchen. I love the huge communal table adjacent to the bar. No, it doesn't really look like your usual bar or pub; instead, it looks more like a hip, Midtown restaurant.
On a recent lunch visit, I found myself being the youngest in the crowd by at least 20 years. Â But what can you expect when you're in the middle of the suburbs. Â No matter, I came here for the food and the food is excellent. Â The House Poutine is a gastronomic delight: Â fork-tender, shredded, braised beef brisket topped with hand-cut fries are smothered in mozzarella cheese and jus. Â Fantastic. Â This layered beauty ensures the fries stay crisp by putting them on top and the jus stays in the bottom. Â Brilliant.
The handmade burgers made with brisket and sirloin came in the perfect medium temperature. Â The brisket lends a different texture to the burger which was not bad at all. Â The Alon's brioche was buttery and soft and gives a sweetish hint to the fatty meat -- a perfect combination. The sparse amount of lettuce and the thinly sliced tomato guarantee the flavor of the meat to shine. Â Delicious.
Since I already started with the poutine, I chose to get macaroni and cheese for my side. Â This isn't your usual child's variety. Â Rather, it's a grown-up version: Â al dente twisted macaroni in a Gruyere cheese and herb sauce. Â Yummy.
I am definitely coming back for more of the food (Tuesday is Fried Chicken night) and to try out their signature drinks. Â I have my eye out on the following:
Kozmojito with fresh cranberries
Champagne Kocktail with a splash of Grand Marnier
Kozmorita
Verdict: Â excellent food in a hip bar/restaurant with a more mature ambiance. Â This is suburbia's answer to the hip Midtown bar scene.
Edited to add:
Went back Tuesday night to try the Fried Chicken. Â Three pieces of lightly battered yet crispy fried chicken are tender and moist with flavor all the way through. It's not a massive portion but with two good-sized sides, this $8.99 dish is enough to get you filled. My chosen sides of garlic spinach and coleslaw are both fantastic. The spinach retains its crunch and the garlic lends a flavor. The coleslaw is crisp and creamy but not so that you feel like you're eating mayo. You can tell they only use fresh and quality ingredients here.
The Short Rib Pappardelle is scrumptious. The stewed-for-hours short rib is fork tender and the flavor is bold and hefty. The house-made sheets of fresh pasta allows the meat to mellow, sopping up all the sauce for a great-tasting dish.
Dessert wise, everything's made in house. The chocolate chip cookies with ice-cream is a simple choice but big on taste. The cookies are mounds of soft, chewy short-bread infused with chunks of chocolate. They were so good and fresh out of the oven.
I had a chance to attend the opening party for Kozmo's and I have to say I am quite impressed. This is a nice addition to the Johns Creek/Alpharetta area.
The decor is clean, nothing fancy or loud - simplistic, but trendy. The menu may appear average with typical tavern type food, but the quality is what sets it apart. Need to try "Kozmo" of the day - Â all very good. Â Definitely make a date to stop by when they open.
