Have to add another glowing review to the many here. When we visited last year, we ate inside and loved the atmosphere.  It reminded me of my father's family...I find Italians to be warm and demonstrative....much laughter in the air. Plus, the food was incredible, so of course we returned this year. Sat outside in the gentle night air, which just added to the enjoyment. Our waiter was personable, efficient, but with a wry sense of humor which we appreciated. The three of us had very different dishes. My sister loved her seafood salad, which was a special appetizer, but was large enough to be an entree. My husband had the incredibly delicious risotto with mushrooms, and my special was the heavenly osso bucco, which sat on a bed of risotto. It's very obvious that everything on the menu is made with care and fresh, quality ingredients.

We had the Trout special, Seafood and homemade pasta, Rigatoni, Spinach and Egg Soup, and Tiramisu.  Everything was wonderful and carefully prepared. Cafe Latte was the real thing.  Italian food was just like I had in Italy.   Not cheap food but cheaper than a flight to Rome.

A beautiful evening to dine al fresco and enjoy the friendly, attentive service that this Italian venue offers.  A nice wine list, we started with a bottle and the Polenta appetizer.  This was my first try of polenta, and it was excellent. Blended with corn and covered in a light creamy truffle sauce with mushrooms, every bite was delicioso. My entree, the Octopus Carpaccio was on special this evening, and every bite was fresh from the sea delighted my palate.  The filet was on special too and prepared to perfection, covered in a creamy sauce and served with a leafy variety of broccoli on the side.  A salmon with goat cheese ravioli was also on special this evening, and I would give it a try on perhaps another visit to this quaint spot in the heart of NOBE.  The warm chocolate souffle a la mode with a drizzle of raspberry sauce was a sweet grand finale. Just Yelping about it makes me want more. The perfect place for a date night or dinner with distinction.  Grazie!

All is not as perfect as these Yelp reviews would seem to indicate.  Yes, the waiters are Italian, and yes the pastas are homemade and fresh tasting.  But...when a perfectly marvelous pasta special (pumpkin filled ravioli) is drenched in tomato sauce, there's a disconnect.  Sauce, superb.  Ravioli,superb...but together?  NO, No, No!

Take note, Chef...a buttery sage for the Ravioli, please!!!

Also, to characterize this restaurant as moderately priced is misleading.
We spent close to $100. For a shared salad, two entrees and two glasses of wine.  Moderate???  You decide.

This is as good as it gets. La Dolce Vita is always a treat. i have been to this place maybe a dozen times since it opened a couple of years ago. The food has always been outstanding and the service has remained comsistently good. The only criticism I have is their very limited wine list. I always ask if they have fresh liver which is never listed in the menu. If they do, I order it because it's always flawlessly prepared. Last night's highlight was the pumpkin soup with shrimp. Dinner for four without dessert but with a $50 bottle of wine was about $200, which is not terrible fir the quality if food you get.

The most authentic, delicious Italian dishes I've ever encountered in FL. First off, the staff is beyond personable and friendly. There's a great homey feel that is warm and welcoming. Every pasta dish is homemade and all of the sauces are beyond flavorful. I was told there was basically no use in ever ordering gnocchi at any other restaurant because they will never come close to Dolce Vita's dish. Melt in your mouth good! A definite must, and I recommend making reservations.

I should begin by saying that while we enjoy Italian food from time to time, it is not something that we crave or choose often. That having been said, if we lived in Ft. Lauderdale, we would eat here weekly.  We stumbled upon this place while on vacation (thank you Yelp!).  We had the Polenta as an appetizer and it would be an understatement to say "it was good".  It was amazing.  My husband had the Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina, which is a more delicious, adult version of Spaghetti O's.  The creamy tomato sauce reminded us both of this childhood staple, except it was homemade and not disgusting! I had the Ravioli Al Funghi Tartufati, which was rich, creamy, perfectly cooked, and painfully good.  I say painfully because I ate so much I was miserable for hours afterward, but I wouldn't change a thing!  Eat here, you will be glad you did.

La Dolce Vita is one of Fort Lauderdale's better Italian restaurants located in a rather nice setting in a quiet area of NE 33rd Street. The food is definitely authentic Italian and though not all that innovative, definitely prepared from the ground on up using the very finest as well as freshest of ingredients. The wait staff, all Italian, are clearly professional, knowledgeable and helpful.

Though a casual place it's classy having both a nice indoor setting along with several sidewalk outdoor cafe type tables.

The menu and wine lists are complete without being overly extensive, having a clear concentration upon quality.

Best Italian restaurant in Broward County...No doubt...and we have searched beyond belief! If you are within an hour's drive and want a good Italian meal you need to go here. Don't even bother with other restaurants.

Best Carbonara sauce I've ever had...ever...even considering meals in Italy. This place does truly authentic sauces and homemade pasta. Very fresh. The meals are not like any faux Italian restaurant typical of status quo (you know, the kind where the chef thinks throwing red sauce on a noodle is pasta excellence).

My wife had a ribeye steak that was better than Morton's, and every bit as good as Timpano's. Seriously, there is no place we've been that would give a piece of meat better prepared, tender, and delicious as this.

Tiramasu was amazing. Perfectly light and creamy.

The servers speak Italian, which adds to the flair.

This is truly an excellent place to go for authentic Italian food! You feel like you are in Rome as all the waitstaff are from Italy. We had the grilled polenta with black truffle cream sauce and it was heavenly. Someone else quoted that it was a party in your mouth and I would have to agree!  The homemade gnocchi served with the wild mushroom cream sauce was probably the best gnocchi I have eaten. The parmesan crusted veal chop was also delicious. They had a nice variety of fish dishes and I would definitely come back and try one of those next time! The atmosphere is nice small and quaint. They had a nice wine selection and the service was excellent.

Everything her was a party in my mouth!!!! The polenta with truffle oil was the best I've ever had!! And I love that everything on the menu is basically made with truffle oil!!!  The pasta, the wine, the service, the salads, everything was amazing, but like I said the polenta was the most amazing thing I've put in my mouth in a long long long time!!!!!!

We were looking for a Mexican and stumbled across this Italian Resturant. Wine was great and so was my sons pasta. I had steak but for the price they could have added some potatoes or pasta instead of just salad. My wife had the fish special however it was badly burnt. She was so hungry she ate the edible portion however after we pointed this out to our waiter he should have taken it off the bill but he didn't. We got a couple of dessert but my son was not even asked if he wanted one. Service is not that great nor is the food that special for the price we paid. Recommend that the Resturant pay more attention to the food they serve. Wouldn't consider going back.

Chris the waiter is amazing. And the food even more so. I never thought I'd find a piece of Italy in Ft. Lauderdale, but I did. You must eat here and try the homemade gnocchi.

The food has a depth and soul to its flavor that you can just tell someone in the kitchen cares about what they're serving.  The waiters are from Italy and add to the experience.

This place is just plain good. If you're looking for Americanized Italian food (ie, chicken parm, etc) this is not the spot.  But for a great dining experience with genuinely prepared food, I highly recommend.

There's a cute wine bar right next door you can go to before or after to make a night of the experience.

My wife Dianne and I first went to La Dolce Vita at the suggestion of her son Chris.
We immediately made to feel welcome by owners Christian and Fabio.
Our meals were so delicious we asked to meet the chef Renaldo.
He was kind enough to come out and spend a few minutes talking to us and to Chris who is a chef departee at Blue Moon Fish Co.
Tonight Dianne and I went back again and Christian and Fabio remembered us! The food again was excellent and the service extraordinary.
Thank you Fabio, Christian, Christian & Renaldo.
We will be back when we return in January.

What a fabulous addition to this corner of Galt Ocean mile. In a cozy atmosphere, the dishy manager, waiters, chef turn out exquisitely prepared food and friendly, attentive service with an Italian accent. The pasta is really like nothing I've encountered in the area and the seafood dishes are authentic and scrumptious. I started with the world's best prosciutto (my hyperbole, not theirs) which served as a bed for soft, creamy burrata (cheese). With its custard like texture and comforting taste, I could eat that stuff every day. The prosciutto had the requisite salt and tang, but was extraordinarily tender, unlike the shoe leather served in neighboring restaurants.
The main course--spaghetti a la vongole (al dente pasta with teeny, briny clams) was beyond belief. The careful preparation and the freshness of the pasta and clams elevated this admittedly simple dish to superstar status. I also had a few bites of a similar dish with mussels and shrimp and while the seasoning was subtly different, was also divine.
Nicely chosen wine list and even a rather inviting bar. Unfortunately, I had stupidly stopped into the Chart House for an uninspired glass of wine before making my way to La Dolce Vita, so I did not hang out at the bar before my meal--next time. Crunchy shell canoli with the most indulgent and rich filling completed my ethereal meal.
Friggin adorable waiter from Milan, handsome manager (or owner, I forget..I was too busy staring at him to focus on what he said to me) from Rome (where else...sigh)and the chef was so beautifully Italian it seemed he had stepped out of central casting. My god, I hope these good looking guys make it.
La Dolce Vita lives up to its name!

La Dolce Vita is superb. We've been there about a half dozen times now, sometimes with friends. I grew up in Italy, my wife and the one of the friends are European.  All of us are pretty good cooks, travel to Europe to eat every year and have the means to dine out frequently. There are some good Italian restaurants in Broward but this is the only authentic Italian place we know of. The meals are simple, the sauces superb, the ingredients superb, the cooking superb.

First, the cooking is not your typical American Italian sloshed in tomato sauce pasta. Many, if not all of the pastas are done there and fresh. No cream sauces.  No tomato paste sauces. The fish, meat and poultry are all superb both in the ingredients and the cooking.  You get cooking as is done in Italy down to the cuts and textures of the meats, simple yet refined.

The lunch menu is a bit lean but everything on it that we've tried (about half the menu) is excellent. The dinner menu is a treat and has well prepared gems all over the place.

The wine list is quite good and priced right. Service is excellent, the atmosphere is nothing to die for but it's nice. Acoustics appear quite good as we think it's quiet.

An update:  No more lunch as business has been too good.  Make reservations as it fills up and its common to see people get turned away.
