Hooray, this is better than ever, same cook, food  is his to control, now that he's a partner. Last expedition was before they closed ,the owner had this fake wise guy persona, the savior was the food & waitstaff. Now everything works. If you like traditional Italian in cool relaxed place this is it. Huge portions usually mean tasteless stale run of the mill not here, do your self a favor split a couple apps, eggplant Parma was terrific, clam chowder spicy chockfull of the tender guys. The star of the evening chicken scarppello, spicy mix of sausage, crisp potatoes, on bone chicken, peppers, and olives in  a lite wine sauce the best I've had.full bottle of wine bill $70 what a steal. Try the ricotta cheese cake& panacotta if u have room. Last but not least ask for Brittany nicest and most helpful professional I've had the pleasure to meet and she has cute dimples! Not to diminish the other staff all were  great except I don't care for male dimples. Go I know u will be happy these people care.

Get the meatball appetizer it's amazing they are not rock hard and you can see the diffrent types of meat in them, loosely packed and comes with fresh ricotta cheese on the side and very flavorful marinara on top. The place is a white tablecloth style of Italian restaurant with outside and indoor seating ample bar. All the food is made fresh to order I never got a hint of a frozen taste any time I have been there. Staff is truly warm and considerate and even remember your name.. Give it a try if you have not been here before

Hooray! Frankie and Johnny's is one of the few restaurants I've known to sink into the depths of bankruptcy yet somehow manage to come out of it and reestablish itself again, which is the reason my first review was 4 stars, my second or update a 1 star, given at that moment in time their only offering was posted bankruptcy notice along with a locked down building. Now however, it's back with everything seemingly very much the same as it was during its pre-bankruptcy era.

So with Chef Ryan at the helm swinging some delightful dishes out of the kitchen served by a top notch professional wait staff, I'm putting them back on my 4 star list.

Again they are offering, and one of the few places that do, a hanger steak (the part derived from the diaphragm of the steer or heifer known for a more pronounced meat flavor) with porcini mushroom in a red wine reduction and also one of the few with an eggless anchovy based Caesar.
