My family wanted to come to the OG because they had a Darden gift certificate. I personally don't like OG because 99% of their meals are really high in fat and carbs, but I just had to go with the flow.
My one start is not for the food (that is a given in my book) but because of the customer service. Our waiter kept rolling his eyes and acting as if it was a hassle to wait on us. My niece ordered the unlimited soup and salad and wanted to try all the available soups (she only really eat two of them). He had an issue with that. My wine glass still had lip stains on it and I wanted changed. He had an issue with that. Not good service at all.
Italian chain - an oldie but a goodie. Friendly, consistent service, a clean dining room, and ample private lot parking make the OG a pleasant place for lunch or dinner. Â I have been here several times over the past 9 years .. working lunch, a volunteer appreciation dinner, Â lunch with a friend, and dinner with another ... no complaints each time. Â Bring on that salad & breadsticks, and yes, lots of freshly grated cheese. Keep it coming. Â Eggplant parm is my go-to dish ever since my days as a vegetarian, and even now as a part-time carnivore I still go for eggplant whenever and wherever it's on the menu. I've also enjoyed a chicken dish or two. Â The only con about the food is it's high sodium content: from the salad dripping in dressing to the breading on all of your favorite dishes, it's a bit too much and I would rather have my food flavored with herbs and of course, garlic. Â The OG gets a solid three-stars because I know what to expect here and never leave disappointed. Â By the way, their cafe latte is delicious.
Review Source:So it's a heavily Americanized Italian food chain restaurant like all of the others in the chain but with rather good food, especially their unlimited salad offering that comes with the meal.
This particular location has to be one of the older and consequently more dated looking of the Olive Garden locations, but I've always had good efficient and friendly service. At times it really gets crowded, particularly on Sundays when the big church across the street lets out.
