I Love Colombian bakeries, slightly less than French/Italian/Spanish bakeries. They serve hot food here in addition to finger goodies. Food is ok, not great. I had the chicken with passion fruit sauce: chicken was dry but the sauce was good, it came with beans, rice, tostadas. Price is slightly above average considering there are tons of LatAm restaurants in the area that can serve the same food at 60% of the price. The Pandebono (cheese bread) was great (you can't screw it up), i think i am coming back JUST for the pandebono.
Review Source:Las Orquideas (The Orchids) is a very decent Colombian restaurant on Federal Hwy. Â Clean and well-appointed -- glassed dessert counter up front; lots of light woods; bright wall artwork of orchids (thus, the name, I presume). Â Sort of reminded me of a Starbucks or Storks, but brighter. Â All our orders were entirely fine. Â The jaw-dropper was a side order of some bacon-like meat (I can't recall the proper name) that looked primordial, to say the least! Â (Another person at the table said it looked like a spine. Â I thought it was like something out of "The Flinstones." Â Hehe!) Â The wait staff was extremely friendly -- one guy in particular was EXTREMELY friendly!!! Â (poor guy was so happy to see some Wilton Manors' folks!) -- with prompt service. Â If I could give it 3-1/2 stars, that'd be it, as it's certainly better than simply "A-OK"; although, I'm not quite at the "Yay! I'm a fan" stage just yet. Â I'll followup on a revisit soon.... Â (There's also a Las Orquideas Spa next door, and they also do some "multi-servicing," as well. Â It's a Colombian enterprise they've got going there...!)
